At the time Peter wrote this epistle, many Christians were facing persecution. Early Christians found themselves engaged in constant conflict with authoritarian structures and, as a result, many began to capitulate and collaborate with the enemy. The primary root cause: they did not know who they were as members of the body of the Anointed One. Nearly two thousand years have passed, and the body of the Anointed One in America find themselves in the same situation. There is a backlash against the Christian church in the United States. We have awakened and found that our hope is not in any political party or process. We suddenly find ourselves politically incorrect in an increasingly hostile environment. We must first know who we are in the Anointed One. This book is a verse-by-verse study of this epistle with a view to show us who we are and how we live.
From a Drunkard to a Pastor is the story about how Jesus Christ can take a lost soul drowning in alcohol and drugs and transform that person into a vessel worthy to be used by God to reach the lost for Christ. This book also describes areas in the Christians life where a Christian needs to work toward completeness in Christ (spiritual maturity). The author describes in detail the struggles he went through trying to find answers to the question, “how in the world did I get so far from God?” He writes of God’s love for mankind and the extremes God went through to restore mankind to fellowship with him. The author speaks of his depravity in hope that it will convey the message to others that no matter how far you have fallen and no matter how hopeless life may seem that God is able to reach down from heaven and put you on a path to recovery and a new hope. The common theme throughout this book is the necessity to grow in your walk with Christ, and this is a how-to book to accomplish that based on the author’s own experience. The book gives practices and insights on what helped the author in his quest to be more like Jesus. Christians are called to be like Jesus, and that calling does not come easy. It takes hard work, commitment, love for Christ, and love for our fellow human beings. This book guides you on a path that will help you reach spiritual maturity.
Do you believe that the essence of our Salvation is Spiritual Maturity? We are spiritually mature when we “grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18, KJV). Do you know that wisdom and knowledge are related but not synonymous? Wisdom is “the ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting” (The Gospel); Knowledge, is “information gained through experience, reasoning, or acquaintance.” No one (none of us) is born wise; we must acquire and can only acquire wisdom from God. The Bible urges us often to seek wisdom above all things; “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight” (Proverbs 4:7, ESV). Knowledge can exist without wisdom, but wisdom cannot exist with knowledge. One can be knowledgeable without being wise. Knowledge is when you know you should hear the word and the importance of it; Wisdom is hearing and knowing how and when to use it (Word) and how to live it. In order for us to obey Him and be in obedience, God wants us to have knowledge of Him and His commands, as of His word. Our knowledge begins when we fear God. If we lack or despise wisdom, we are foolish and not knowledgeable. Wisdom is a gift from God. Scriptures tell us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him” James 1:5 (ESV). Just knowing the Bible and facts about God is not all there is to wisdom. God blesses us with wisdom; for us to use the knowledge we have of Him, in order for us to glorify Him. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction” (Proverbs 1:7, KJV). In our Spiritual Maturity, let us fear God; and let us not be foolish but wise and knowable, pleasing God. This book, teaches us; giving one an understanding and affords us the opportunity to be blessed and favored with wisdom. It expresses and confirms who we are in Christ Jesus. ‘I Am’ ‘The Church’ Of The Great “I AM”. To God be the Glory!!!

What Is a Man? Biologically, we are animals--homo sapiens. But men are different, born with consciousness, reason, free will, notions of morality, and other characteristics of what we call "human nature." Why are we different? Were we created by God or are we just accidents of nature? Are you a child of the King or just a child of King Kong? This is a book of apologetics for laypeople. It looks at arguments for the existence of God and especially at those arguments that can be drawn from human nature. It argues in plain language, with illustrations and humor, that we cannot explain human nature without God, that men are miracles.

Have you plateaued in your faith? Does it seem you should be more like Christ than you are? Have you settled for a version of Christianity that is a far cry from the joy and adventure found in biblical Christlikeness? Youre not alone. Many are not even aware that the purpose of life is to become like Christ. Others sense theres more but just dont know how to make it happen. The key to becoming like Christ is discovering how to cooperate with the work of the Holy Spirit; learning the rhythm of breathing in His life-giving presence and breathing out the toxins that poison our soul. Learn to Breathe shows us how to intentionally align with the Holy Spirits work of spiritual formation as God develops Christlikeness in us. Exploring how Jesus cooperated with the Holy Spirit while he walked on earth reveals a fascinating model for us to follow today.
Charlie Chaplin the actor is universally synonymous with his beloved Tramp character. Chaplin the director is considered one of the great auteurs and innovators of cinema history. Less well known is Chaplin the composer, whose instrumental theme for Modern Times (1936) later became the popular standard "Smile," a Billboard hit for Nat "King" Cole in 1954. Chaplin was prolific yet could not read or write music. It took a rotating cast of talented musicians to translate his unorthodox humming, off-key singing, and amateur piano and violin playing into the singular orchestral vision he heard in his head. Drawing on numerous transcriptions from 60 years of original scores, this comprehensive study reveals the untold story of Chaplin the composer and the string of famous (and not-so-famous) musicians he employed, giving fresh insight into his films and shedding new light on the man behind the icon.
Bitterness often grows out of a small offense: perhaps a passing word, an accidental slight, or a pair of dirty socks left in the middle of the living room floor. Yet when bitterness takes root in our hearts, its effects are anything but small. "See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many." (Heb. 12:15) In this collection of short articles, Jim Wilson and others discuss what it means to live as "imitators of God." As the Apostle Paul says in Ephesians, we have been called to leave the bitterness and anger of the world and instead embrace the love and compassion of our God. The authors remind us that we are to forgive others just as we have been forgiven, pointing to Scriptural admonitions and examples as they offer sound teaching on the trials and temptations of everyday life.

In the Gospels we encounter many people who were shunned by their society because they lived with some form of impairment. In stark contrast, Jesus embraces these people and offers compassion without condescension, relationship without ulterior motive, and provides them with practical help. Subsequent history has rarely matched his ministry, particularly for people living with intellectual impairment and their families. Based on personal interviews with a number of families who have children living with intellectual impairment, two major challenges constantly impacted them--a longing for people to treat their child as a person and to form genuine friendships with them. Written from a Wesleyan perspective, this book seeks to address these two issues from a theological and pastoral perspective. It offers practical help for anyone to initiate and develop healthy friendships with people who live with moderate to severe intellectual impairment, their families, and carers.

Turning to his Abba Father, he sought understanding, knowledge, and wisdom from the only source that could truly help. As Jim struggled with his faith, God was always there for him. He showed Jim through the Bible the path through mental illness. Although Jim’s Abba Father showed him the path, he struggled following the path. The story goes through five suicide attempts and multiple attempts to treat Laura for her different symptoms. Jim struggled with believing God’s Word. During the last sixteen-plus years of questions and tragedy, Jim learned to trust God as he carefully and lovingly led Jim through the ups and downs of his life. Although many questions were answered by Jim’s Abba Father, several still remain unanswered. However, Jim knows that there is an answer to all of them because his Abba Father has convinced him that the answers are in his Abba Father. Jim’s desire is to give glory to God and help those who are in a similar situation. He hopes to do that by showing others how his Abba Father aided him.

An Invitation to Deeper, More Joyful, and Rewarding Relationships with God and Others None of us is lovable all of the time. People are unreasonable, arguments flare, feelings are hurt. And no one can make us feel worse than those closest to us. It's easy to fall into the trap of closing ourselves off in order to protect ourselves, rather than opening ourselves up for relationship with each other. But think of who Jesus invited into his life and ministry. They weren't always lovable. Yet he modeled perfect love for us and showed how the mark of a spiritually mature believer was always love. In The Power of Together, pastor and author Jim Putman uncovers the core of true discipleship with an in-depth, biblical look at how Jesus always invited people into relationship with himself. He loved them with God's perfect love and, in the process, showed everyone around him that the act of following God is the act of extending and receiving love that endures all things.
Christianity has tended to focus on right beliefs and right choices as the keys for personal growth. But biblical evidence and modern brain science show that our character is shaped more by whom we love than what we believe. Through conversations he had with Dallas Willard at the Heart & Soul Conference shortly before Dallas's death, Jim Wilder shows how we can train our brains to relate to God based on joyful, mutual attachment--which leads to emotional and spiritual maturity as our identity and character are formed by our relationship with God.
Do you have a Celestial Teacher yet? Can a huge influx of new teachers from celestial realms inspire us to lives of love and service? The quest is on via the Teaching Mission, which has grown out of Urantia Book and Lightworker groups to provide spiritual lessons at home gatherings across the U.S. and abroad. A new wave of human transmitter-receivers (TRs) have verbalized a vast library of celestial teacher transmissions since 1991, and yet they represent only the tip of an empowering iceberg of newly available spiritual guidance. The celestials teach that God-seeking individuals can tap into powerful new energies that will expand their spiritual growth and lead them to their own empowered service in a troubled world. The author discovers these truths in a journey from skeptic to attuned transmitter of Tarkas and other ascending former mortal teachers, as well as celestial administrators such as Christ Michael, Abraham and Machiventa Melchizedek, and celestial artisans Bakim and Elisha. In excerpts from celestial teacher meetings across the U.S., readers can trace the planetary Correcting Time priorities and visions. The teachers are establishing basic spiritual truths designed to empower service, change the world one person at a time, and ultimately bring forth a spiritual renaissance into an era of Light and Life. They outline an amazing ascension path toward a Be Ye Perfect mandate and a usher in a remarkable era of quickening changes, challenges, and opportunities.

After speaking on teaching and influencing young people at a student gathering in Texas, Pat Williams received an email from a high school coach who had heard his talk. Coach McCall's email stated that every kid who's growing up is dying to live his life. But as people get older, instead of dying to live, they start living to die. His closing thought is What are you dying for? Unable to escape this question, Pat invites readers to ask themselves, When my days on earth are over, will I discover that I have wasted my life on meaningless things that have no lasting and eternal value? Most people are living for four things: fortune, status, power, or pleasure. But there are four far more meaningful and satisfying reasons for living--and for dying. These give purpose and value to our lives, so that we can know our lives have eternal significance. If you died tomorrow, what would people say? Starting with Jesus's statement that whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for the gospel will save it, Pat gives a powerful, practical, and encouraging plan for how to live a life that truly matters and to leave a legacy that never dies.
