The Sodality, (operating publically as Global Reparations, an NGO) was formed by a small group of mostly American retired military leaders, businessmen, politicians, and ministers. What started as a loose connection of friends and colleagues crystallized into a powerful network dedicated to fighting the onslaught of global jihad and those conspiring with them for their own agendas. Based in the Czech Republic with facilities in fifteen locations worldwide, the Sodality runs missions ranging from sabotaging terrorist finances and supply lines to assassinations of terrorist leaders. Their formation and activities were inspired by relentless attacks on a constitutional republic, attacks on the West, and fecklessness government leaders. Omar, born and raised in Lebanon is rescued and taken in by the Muslim Brotherhood at the age of seven. His intelligence and strength flourish under the tutelage of a powerful and well-connected jihadist. The lessons learned at the feet of his mother and father inculcates Omar with a deep understanding of Islam and hatred for anyone outside the faith, especially the Zionists and their allies. His dedication and training rewards Omar with favor from his superiors and ascension through the ranks. He becomes the go-to guy for the most important and dangerous missions, including arms transfers, kidnappings, assassinations, and incursion assaults. The OISC: Organization of Islamic Sura Councils, an international assemblage of Islamic leaders in religion, business, and politics from fifty-seven nations formed to coordinate the myriad jihadist groups toward a global caliphate. Though it seems to the outside world Islam is united, a deep division followed the death of Mohammad and the struggle over who would take the reins of power. The world media is helpful in limiting the exposure of the violence between the factions and the resulting alliances connecting governments and sects. As the spread of the Muslim religion accelerates toward dominance, the war between Sunnis and Shi’as is subjugated to the common desire to destroy Israel and America. They can divide the world between them after the Great Satan is obliterated. As Omar’s accomplishments compile, he moves closer to the OISC power base. He lusts after greater recognition and ascension to the upper echelons of the council. His pursuit also makes him a target in the sites of the Sodality. The paths of our main characters are destined to cross and when they do, a series of events are ignited neither could predict nor want. The ultimate result of their conflict will take our readers by surprise. Global Reparations approaches Blake Kershaw when he leaves the military after an assignment with Delta Force. Because he remained officially dead according to public record, he was the ideal choice to carry out precise missions against jihadist targets. Omar is the enticement used to recruit Blake and becomes his singular obsession. Battle, as they say, is always a fluid environment and in this case Blake finds it’s also toxic. The skewed outcome of their war sets a series of plotlines in motion which reach a climax of mangled relationships.

The Story of Alabama Folk Potter Jerry Brown

Jerry Brown (1942-2016) was a nationally recognized folk potter based in Hamilton, Alabama, whose family has been making pottery in the South since the 1830s. Traditionally, southern potters made utilitarian objects necessary for rural life. As a boy, Brown and his brother learned the family's timeworn methods and techniques helping their father in his shop, including tending the mule that drove the mill that mixed clay. Business suffered as demand for stoneware churns, jugs, and chamber pots waned in the postwar years, and manufacture ceased following the deaths of Brown's father and brother in the mid-1960s. Brown turned to logging for his livelihood, his skill with mules proving useful in working difficult and otherwise inaccessible terrain. In the early 1980s, he returned to the family trade and opened a new shop that relied on the same methods of production with which he had grown up, including a mule-powered mill for mixing clay and the use of a wood-fired rather than gas-fueled kiln. He stayed in logging for a few more years, but pottery soon became Brown's main occupation. Folklorist Joey Brackner met Brown in 1983 while researching traditional Alabama pottery for the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts and the Alabama State Council for the Arts. The two quickly became close friends and collaborated together on a variety of documentary and educational projects in succeeding years-efforts which led to greater exposure, commercial success, and Brown's recognition as a National Heritage Fellow by the National Endowment for the Arts in 1992. These developments were part of a larger overall trend as the utilitarian origins of traditional craft practices evolved into more explicitly creative and cultural forms of practice. Arts and crafts fairs cropped up around the country, and Brown adapted accordingly, specializing in collectible crowd-pleasers like face jugs and eventually launching the Jerry Brown Arts Festival, which takes place in Hamilton every spring. For years, Brown spoke of the urge to write a book, but never set pen to paper. In 2015, Brackner took the bull by the horns, interviewing Brown and recording his life story over the course of a weekend. Although Brown died suddenly the following year, Jerry Brown Pottery remains in operation, managed by Brown's wife, stepson, and his family. Of Mules and Mud is the story of Jerry Brown's life in his words as recounted in those recorded sessions, lightly edited and elaborated, and illustrated with photos from all phases of Brown's life"--

In the spring of 1942, with Japanese forces poised to overrun the Allies on the Philippine island of Corregidor, Maj. Thomas Dooley, class of 1935, and Maj. Gen. George F. Moore, class of 1908, compiled a list of twenty-five other Aggies under their command, which constituted a “roll call” in the midst of the bombardment. Dooley later told a journalist about the list, and the resulting article spread rapidly throughout the United States, forever connecting Dooley to this enduring Aggie tradition. The breadth of Dooley’s wartime experiences, however, goes far beyond this single Muster. On the day of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Dooley began the first of six handwritten journals—more than 500 pages—that he continued to update throughout the war. As aide-de-camp to Gen. Jonathan Wainwright, the new commander of the Allied forces after Gen. Douglas MacArthur was ordered to Australia, Dooley had regular contact with various commanders and headquarters throughout Bataan and Corregidor. His journals reveal the inside story of the battles of Bataan and Corregidor and with it the capture, imprisonment, and struggle for survival of tens of thousands of American prisoners of war. Dooley’s journals—dutifully maintained even as he was a prisoner—are at once witty, articulate, stark, and often reflective. Dooley died in 2006, and his journals now reside in the Texas A&M University archives. Jerry C. Cooper has painstakingly transcribed, edited, and annotated these remarkable documents, shedding new light on daily life in the storied history of the war in the Pacific.

Why does it escalate to the extreme, horrible results? We believe it is because we allow conflict to escalate unchecked; to have it way with us. In our selfish need to win whenever in conflict, we allow our emotions to be our guide; carrying us to places most of us do not ever want to go. We need help! What we need is an intervention. We believe we all need a God intervention. God made us and He has provided an instruction manual we have come to call the Bible, the Word of God. When conflict arises we need to hear a word from God. Many of us need to remember and apply the word of God that we've heard, studied, and learned. We tend to forget all God has said when conflict arises. It seems as though we toss the words of God out the window. We seem to tell God to "take a hike" while we manage the winning of a conflict. What we need is to study all the words of God that deal with how we act, re-act, speak, listen, and even feel when conflict enters our lives. This book gives you a summary of what God has said that relates to our conflict management and resolution. We can resolve conflict better and with less damage when we do it God's way.
