At the beginning of His earthly ministry, Jesus recognized that in addition to the kingdom of God, another kingdom was operating here on the earth, the kingdom of Satan. The two would be in conflict with each other. While in heaven, as the angel Lucifer, Satan, tried to usurp Jesus's power and position. God removed him from heaven, but not before he had drawn away a third of the angels. Satan continues his battle today, but now it's for the hearts of God's people. Many Christians are drawn away from their godly spirituality through Satan's deceptions and their own lack of biblical knowledge and the stability of a viable biblical worldview. In Matthew 4:1–11, Jesus demonstrated how we are to interact with both kingdoms and counter Satan's ungodly brand of spirituality. First, He showed us that He lived to please God. Second, He defeated Satan through dependence on the Holy Spirit and the spoken Word of God. Third, He made that same authority and power available to us corporately and individually. We must never attempt anything for God with them (see Acts 1:8). As His church, our evangelism must seek authentic salvation for our converts that consists of two components: conversion and conservation. We encourage our new converts to come to Jesus just as they are, but we are not to allow them to remain that way. They must grow up into mature disciples. The church is to carry His commission and "make disciples" (see Matthew 28:18–20). Jesus emphasizes the church's obedience and completion of two activities before any amount of success can be measured: "baptizing" and "teaching." Here again, we find Satan trying to defeat God's purpose. As mature disciples, we are to victoriously and gloriously live and practice a true godly spirituality in all areas of our lives as examples before the new disciples that counters Satan's ungodly spirituality.

Light is knowing, God and His Son, the authentic Jesus Christ, who stands as the Source of purpose and end of man and his world. Further, light is to know the truth and reality of man and his world that God created all for Himself. That He loves and saves all to live with Him eternally -- if we will only believe and trust Him. Today there is a tension between the world and the Word. The authentic Christ is the only hope for the world -- Give Me Jesus!

In the Bible we discover answers to troubling questions through solid unchanging biblical truth that can be applied to bring stability to us and our institutions. We are promised in Daniel 11:32, But the people who know their GOD shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. The impact of the true church of God is revealed through: The prayers of the saints going up before God (see Revelation 5:8). The followers of Christ are a royal priesthood (see 1 Peter 2:4-5). The followers of Christ standing in the full armor of God, as the day of evil approaches (see Ephesians 6:10, 11, 13-18). In spite of media bias, Hollywood stereotypes, Spiritless professors and the atheistic attempt toward secularization of the world the true Church of God victoriously marches onward and upward expanding the Kingdom of God. Narrow is the way!

God repeatedly assures us through His Word of the work He has done and is doing in us, of His promised provisions for us, and of His consistent undying love for us. THE GREAT COMMISSION IS NOT OPTIONAL! Research shows that the unchurched, saved or unsaved are not staying away from church because they think it is boring or not relevant. Their lack of confidence isnt directed against God and the Bible; but it is with the church and its leaders. People dont want to experience church. They want to experience Gods presence. Today you cant get away with just talking about what the Bible says. The church today must see its mission as one of reflecting Gods holiness, revealing Gods glory, and witnessing to the reality of Jesus Christ. The early church did so by demonstrating sacrificial love, both toward those within the church and those on the outside. Likewise, the risen Christ came to transform us into a loving, compassionate people, but not through a political agenda. His strategy gives the individual a new birth, a new spirit, a new nature, a resurrection life, and the death of self and selfishness. There is a cause! Believers are here, Jesus said, to do greater things than these (see John 14:12). This is the calling of the church.

Many congregations and church leaders are faced with the collapse of the institutional church culture in America. A great number of them have retreated inside their four walls and created church activities to replace their Christ-given mission to make disciples, and thereby extending His kingdom on earth thy kingdom come. Abandoning their mission means they have abandoned their real identity and reason for existence. Others have gone to the other extreme by selling out to the culture. Their worship service is a form of entertainment with the objective to feel good and be happy. Both choices have turned off many saved people, and they have left the church. In 1998, a Barna poll reflected that 20 million born-again Christians had withdrawn their membership. Todays poll shows an increase to 115,000 million. Many are out there striving to reboost the churchs lost mission to make disciples and thy kingdom come. God has not changed His mind!

Sin caused alienation and separation from a holy God, making it totally impossible for humankind to stand in His presence. He did, through the shedding of His Sons precious, sinless blood, make redemption available to the whole world. The blood of Jesus runs through the entire eternal plan of God for salvation; there is no other way!

It has often been expressed that the primary leadership of the Reformation [Restoration] did not go far enough in their restoration of the New Testament Church. Martin Luther got it right on how we are saved [justification]. “The just shall live by faith” (Galatians 3:11), was one of the revelatory truths of God’s Word that rallied the Reformers. We praise God for the reformer John Wycliffe who believed that the people should be able to read the Bible in their own language; and by the grace of God, he worked hard to get the truth of God’s Word into the hands and hearts of the masses. That is an on-going mission which must be repeated in each new generation. Notice, within a half century after the Reformation began the church was in crisis, because it misunderstood that justification or salvation is of God by grace through faith alone – the believers who came out of the Medieval or Dark Ages were taught that sanctification [spiritual maturity] was accomplished through works of the flesh. They were constantly reminded how much their relationship with God depended on their works. The sad news is many local churches continue to practice this pre-Reformation church model of ministry to this day. That theological error has come full circle today. The results are witnessed in every city, town and village of America as citizens, who have chosen to no longer believe God is relevant, but that He no longer loves and cares, that He created the world and left it to feign for itself (Deism). Add to that the many local churches that rely upon legalism, performance of the flesh, and feelings (entertainment), rather than upon God’s grace alone through the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit and Word of God working in tandem. The Spirit leads, guides, and teaches the restored truths of the Gospel of Grace. Teachers were raised up during the Reformation to help Christians know what they believed and why they believed it. Today, God is continuing to meet that need by raising up desperately needed Spiritually-gifted and bold apologetic teachers for that very purpose in these last days (see 2 Timothy 2:2). The Bread of Life Ministries and Bible Institute along with thousands of Para ministries across America and around the world are established and Spirit-led for “such a time as this.” Magdalene and I were led of the Spirit to establish the Bread of Life Ministries 25 years ago specifically to equip the saints (disciples) for that purpose. If the churches would return to their Christ-given mission, biblical world view and teaching ministries, millions would be saved, disciple and brought into the kingdom of God with the continued commitment to do the same!

IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS WRONG – WHY CONTINUE TO TRAIN OTHERS TO DO THE SAME! The Church is not only the community of the redeemed – but also the redeeming community of the lost. We are not only commanded by our Lord and Savior, but also impelled by the indwelling Spirit of God to declare the message of God’s redeeming love and reconciliation in Jesus Christ to all peoples. I see a new apostolic generation rising in the earth today who are radically Christ centered (Acts 1:8). This Spirit-filled new wineskin will hold the new wine God is pouring out. The “new” is simply a restoration of what has been lost for 2000 years. What we need most is a renewal of the understanding, practice, and commitment to the Great Commission of the early apostolic church – of whom it was reported, “They turned the world upside down!” Many local churches are offering institutional religious substitutes. Dr. Leach argues, “Pastors, “If what you are doing is wrong (unbiblical) and you know it – why do you continue to train others to do the same?” He insists that we are trying build Christ’s Church and kingdom without Him, using man-made standards, plans and blueprints? If Christ is really the true foundation of what you are building, why can’t your instructions be found in the Letters and the Book of Acts? Displaying His love Jesus counsels, “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore, be zealous and repent. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Revelation 3:19, 22).
