This model is a story itself as it narrates a life of an American family around its everyday activities. This book proposes practices that aim at enlivening the power of the stories to form and bond the generations. It does so by redesigning the spaces for communal living and eating, patterns of communication and care. Through a set of practices that are easy to implement in homes and churches, readers will understand the concept of kitchen table youth ministry as a conversation between the history and tradition of the Christian church and contemporary living patterns of American families. These traditions and patterns are based on people's lives. Kitchen Table Youth Ministry will serve youth leaders and ministry leaders by prompting them into reflection by questions and challenges posed at the end of each chapter.
