This study presents a new analysis of the historical meaning of Grotius' apologetic work. It means to answer two chief questions: what were Grotius' motives to write this work, and what sources did he use?

Language prototyping provides a means to generate language implementations automatically from high-level language definitions. This volume presents an algebraic specification approach to language prototyping, and is centered around the ASF+SDF formalism and Meta-Environment. The volume is an integrated collection of articles covering a number of case studies, and includes several chapters proposing new techniques for deriving advanced language implementations. The accompanying software is freely available.
The proper treatment and choice of the basic data structures is an important and complex part in the process of program construction. Algebraic methods provide techniques for data abstraction and the structured specification, validation and analysis of data structures. This volume originates from a workshop organized within ESPRIT Project 432 METEOR, An Integrated Formal Approach to Industrial Software Development, held in Mierlo, The Netherlands, September 1989. The volume includes five invited contributions based on workshop talks given by A. Finkelstein, P. Klint, C.A. Middelburg, E.-R. Olderog, and H.A. Partsch. Ten further papers by members of the METEOR team are based on talks given at the workshop. The workshop was a successor to an earlier one held in Passau, Germany, June 1987, the proceedings of which were published as Lecture Notes in Computer Science, Vol. 394.
In The Gospel in the Western Context, Gert-Jan Roest presents how Hendrikus Berkhof and Colin Gunton read the Western context and contextualize Christology. In “dialogue” with them he presents a Western gospel for mission in the 21st Century.
This first critical edition of Hugo Grotius’ most important work on church and state is based on manuscript evidence, and offers a completely new text, an extensive introduction, an English translation, a commentary, and an appendix of other relevant texts. The print edition is available as a set of two volumes (9789004120273).
This volume contains the papers which have been accepted for presentation atthe Third International Symposium on Programming Language Implementation andLogic Programming (PLILP '91) held in Passau, Germany, August 26-28, 1991. The aim of the symposium was to explore new declarative concepts, methods and techniques relevant for the implementation of all kinds of programming languages, whether algorithmic or declarative ones. The intention was to gather researchers from the fields of algorithmic programming languages as well as logic, functional and object-oriented programming. This volume contains the two invited talks given at the symposium by H. Ait-Kaci and D.B. MacQueen, 32 selected papers, and abstracts of several system demonstrations. The proceedings of PLILP '88 and PLILP '90 are available as Lecture Notes in Computer Science Volumes 348 and 456.
