It was initially published in the year 1874. However, its reprint has been done in 2016. James Shepherd Pike, who was a veteran anti-slavery journalist in 1873, was sent to South Carolina as a reporter. He was then working under the New York Tribune as a report to provide a progressive report of state’s reconstruction government. During this period, James wrote some articles that were published in the New York. The articles were later combined to form a book titled, the prostrate state. According to James, the government of southern Carolina was politically corrupt, and there was intense public embezzlement of the public funds. The aim of this essay is to provide a comprehensive review of the chapter of the ‘The Prostrate State: South Carolina Under Negro Government.’

Fukuyama argued that the final phase of humanity's socio-political evolution was the victory of liberal democracy. Using the phrase "end of history," Francis Fukuyama noted that, based on his observation, the universalization of Western liberal democracy marked the end point of humanity's ideological evolution. His essay aimed to demonstrate that liberalism was ideal for governing the material world as well as the realm of ideas or consciousness. For this assignment, I will argue against Fukuyama's thesis by drawing extensively from the arguments forwarded by three other authors, including Achille Mbembe, Slavoj Žižek, and Samuel Huntington, in their works "Necropolitics,"Critique of Capitalism," and "Clash of Civilizations" respectively. A critical analysis of these works will provide a strong foundation that challenges Fukuyama's view of the end of history.

Climate change is a global problem, usually caused by the excessive release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The burning of wood and fossil fuels has conspicuously impacted the carbon cycle negatively, causing a substantial increase in carbon dioxide level. The carbon dioxide level has continued to rise in response to the increased conversion of organic forms during the Industrial Revolution. Ideally, carbon dioxide has increased sharply from 280 ppm to over 400 for the past two centuries. Initially, people brushed off the idea that such an increase in carbon dioxide was due to human activities. The issue of climate change was therefore attributed to nature, and treated as a natural component. The global community has already acknowledged the implications of climate change and has been striving to reduce carbon emissions for the past few decades. Through the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Kyoto Protocol, a target to limit the mean global temperature rise to no more than (or as close to) 2°C by the year 2100 was established. The objective of this business decision model report is to determine a plausible set of human behavioral and policy changes that would be used to limit the mean global temperature rise to no more than (or as close to) 2°C by the year 2100 in alignment with the UNFCCC and the Kyoto Protocol directives.

The Procter & Gamble Company was established in in the year 1837 with the aim of producing and distributing paper products such as pampers, tissue paper, bathroom tissue. Its formation occurred when two immigrant candle and soap makers decided to form a partnership. The Procter & Gamble Company became a corporation in 1890, and since then it managed to expand and double its sells in U.S. market. The success of P&G Company can be attributed to its undisputable reputation for strong marketing, conservative management, high-quality products and high integrity. The company managed to exhibit successful expansion through acquisition of major companies both locally and internationally. The proprietor technology, use of total quality methods, value-added products, high media weight inclusive of successful advertising themes were used the key strategies to gain competitive advantage and obtain a substantial market share for its products. The initial stage to initiate an expansion occurred in 1991 when it was clear that Charmin, Bounty, and Puffs had succeeded in obtaining a significant market share in the US. P&G thus decided to acquire Facelle Co. which deal with bathroom tissue, paper towels and facial tissue inclusive of the Royale, Florelle, Pronto, Dove, Facettes, and Festival brands. From the Procter & Gamble: Facelle Division Tissue case study, it can be deduced that absence of strategies for global collaboration, lack of or insufficient innovation and technology, transportation cost and sophisticated communication channels are the key challenges facing many companies. Recommendations for a better environment to conduct business include clear communication, access to innovation and technology, an improvement in performance and reliable return on investment.

This kind of cooperation has been preserved up to the present moment in which the relationship between the two countries is more directed to mutual economic benefits. While Iran benefits from military and technological support from China, China obtains oil to fuel its rapidly growing economy since the amount it produces on its own is not sufficient to run the economy. Ultimately, the relationship between the two countries has culminated into an oil cooperation in which China has been entrusted with a majority of oil exploration tenders in Iran especially during the period in which economic sanctions had been issued against Iran. China remained an ally to Iran despite calls from the Western economic giants for the abandonment of bilateral relations with Iran as a punishment for its refusal to abide by the nuclear deal initiated by the United States. As a result, the oil cooperation has deepened mainly because China has been the main partner to Iran in a period during which economic sanctions were hitting hard on the country’s economy. However, the sanctions were recently lifted, allowing Iran to go back to the global oil market. The main aim of this study was to assess the impact the lifting of the sanctions could have on the oil cooperation between Iran and China. The researcher implemented a quantitative approach in which three measures were performed; the value of Iran’s oil-related exports to China prior to and after the lifting of sanctions, the value of Iran’s exports to the entire world prior to and after the lifting of sanctions, and the value of Iran’s exports to China expressed as a percentage of the total value of Iran’s oil-related exports to the world. Findings illustrated that the value of Iran’s oil exports to China indicated a rising trend prior to the lifting of economic sanctions and a falling trend after lifting of the sanctions. On the other hand, Iran’s exports to the entire world illustrated a falling trend prior to the lifting of sanctions and a rising trend after lifting of sanctions. China’s falling trend indicates that bilateral relations between China and Iran are reducing since Iran is focusing more on the global oil market (rising trend for the oil exports to the world).
