By the #1 New York Times bestselling author and unparalleled master of historical fiction, James Clavell’s Shogun is soon to be a major FX/Hulu TV series! Shogun, the classic epic novel of feudal Japan that captured the heart of a culture and the imagination of the world, is now available for the first time in serial format. Part Two contains the second half of the complete novel. After Englishman John Blackthorne is lost at sea, he awakens in a place few Europeans know of and even fewer have seen—Nippon. Thrust into the closed society that is seventeenth-century Japan, a land where the line between life and death is razor-thin, Blackthorne must negotiate not only a foreign people, with unknown customs and language, but also his own definitions of morality, truth, and freedom. As internal political strife and a clash of cultures lead to seemingly inevitable conflict, Blackthorne’s loyalty and strength of character are tested by both passion and loss, and he is torn between two worlds that will each be forever changed. Powerful and engrossing, capturing both the rich pageantry and stark realities of life in feudal Japan, Shogun is a critically acclaimed powerhouse of a book. Heart-stopping, edge-of-your-seat action melds seamlessly with intricate historical detail and raw human emotion. Endlessly compelling, this sweeping saga captivated the world to become not only one of the best-selling novels of all time but one of the highest-rated television miniseries, as well as inspiring a nationwide surge of interest in the culture of Japan. Shakespearean in both scope and depth, Shogun is, as the New York Times put it, ‘'not only something you read—you live it.’‘ Also available: Shogun: Part One
THIS IS THE END.... The dragons have gone home, the elves are safe. The Raven have kept their promises. But fate has not finished with them. As the war between the colleges rages on, an old enemy senses that his chance to revenge a bitter defeat has come. Tessaya, Lord of the Paleon Tribes, has waited patiently for his moment and now, with Balaia in flames, he makes his move and unleashes the Wesmen hordes. In Xetesk, his forces scattered, Dystran, Lord of the Mount, faces certain defeat by the Wesmen unless he unleashes the horrfying power of dimensional magics. And Dystran has not come this far to be beaten at the last by a rabble of ignorant tribesmen. And so the veil between dimensions is torn.... And beyond, a predatory evil stirs. Demons catch the scent of countless souls in Balaia. Can even The Raven prevail when the world is coming to an end? A fantasy milestone is reached. James Barclay brings his sensational saga of The Raven to a heart-stopping conclusion.
Death cannot separate them. This is The Raven, older, wiser, some returned from the grave. Grieving they seek nothing but rest from conflict, something the world will not grant them. But they remain The Raven, still answering when the call comes, still the force most likely to survive and bring the world with them, and still willing to die so that those they love can live.
Now the land of Balaia, still riven by war, must live with the consequences. The Dawnthief spell – designed to destroy the world, but cast to save it – has torn a hole in the sky, a pathway into the dragon dimension, and, through it, unfriendly eyes are turning to Balaia. With war already sweeping the land, there are no armies to send against the dragons. All that stands between Balaia and complete dominion by these tyrannous beasts is a tiny, but legendary band of mercenaries: The Raven. And if they fail, Balaia will fall beneath the wings of countless dragons… James Barclay has created a fantasy epic of rare intensity and blistering pace peopled by characters you can believe in.

Powerful and engrossing, capturing both the rich pageantry and stark realities of life in feudal Japan, Shōgun is a critically acclaimed powerhouse of a book. Heart-stopping, edge-of-your-seat action melds seamlessly with intricate historical detail and raw human emotion. Endlessly compelling, this sweeping saga captivated the world to become not only one of the best-selling novels of all time but also one of the highest-rated television miniseries, as well as inspiring a nationwide surge of interest in the culture of Japan. Shakespearean in both scope and depth, Shōgun is, as the New York Times put it, “...not only something you read—you live it.” Provocative, absorbing, and endlessly fascinating, there is only one: Shōgun.
Chronicles of the Raven: Three AN UNSTOPPABLE NEW POWER IS RISING ... The power of the land has manifested itself in Lyanna, a five year old girl. She has the power to sweep the four colleges of magic aside, or - unknowingly - to destroy Balaia. And the colleges will do anything to control her. If she cannot be controlled, she'll be killed ... but first they have to find her. Denser, one of The Raven, is desperate to find Lyanna and her mother too - not because Lyanna's powers are ripping the world apart, but because she's his daughter. But can even The Raven find Erienne and her child when they don't want to be found? And if they find her, with thousands of lives at stake, can The Raven afford to let her live?
Legends of the Raven: Two ONE BATTLE TO FINISH THEM ALL. The conflict between Balaia's four colleges of magic has blazed into furious, dangerous life. The Dark College, Xetesk, faces an alliance between Lystern and Dordova, while Julasta remains crippled without its link to Balaia's Mana flow. And so the armies mass one last time. The Raven are caught in the flames of war. Three of the legendary mercenary band are dead; one struggles with a burgeoning power that could herald a new world - or destroy the old. They all have promises to keep: to lost friends; to the enslaved Protectors; to the dragon, Sha-Kaan. They will keep the faith. They will fight - and they will triumph. It's what they do.
Another action-packed adventure from the new master of fantasy. The Raven travel to a new continent in search of mages to help the ruined college of Julatsa rebuild and find themselves in the midst of an ancient curse—a curse that has unleashed a plague that threatens to wipe out the elven race. Barclay excels with another tale that pitches The Raven against the clock and unseen foes. Full of desperate fights and secret betrayals, the story also fills in more of Balaia’s history and delves deeper into the ancient emnities between the colleges. Barclay has created a wonderfully appealing group of heroes, and with every book their history grows and the land they live in becomes wider and richer. This is landmark fantasy in the making.
“A remarkable writer.” —Lisa Kleypas “No one can write a book quite like Samantha James.” —Catherine Anderson Samantha James is one of the most acclaimed authors in the field—on a par with such luminaries as Julie Garwood, Judith McNaught, and Linda Lael Miller when it comes to creating intensely emotional, traditional historical romance. Now she exposes The Sins of Viscount Sutherland in the first book in an exciting new series featuring the breathtaking Lords of Sheffield Square. In this powerful, richly romantic masterwork from the New York Times bestselling author, the reckless and dangerous Viscount Sutherland is the target of a vengeful young beauty who seeks his destruction but who finds herself seduced instead by the magnificent rogue’s charm and sensuality.
The author James Blackthorne portrays his characters as having a strong fighting spirit. The main emphasis is on a character referred to as Bardson Wolfe. He is the son of the grand wizard Leon Davith. Bard is a Glorious Golum that faces overwhelming odds in this well-placed adventure. The bronze Golum remains true to his ideals and takes a firm commitment to his father despite every setback. Leon returned to the room with the large mirror. The pen was still lying on the desk. He sat down with his son Bard and explained how generations upon generations born into the Black Army culture, rose to die. None questioned it, none cared, and their culture was founded around the ideal of slaughter, of merciless battle. They knew nothing of cities, save for the ones they razed, and when none would challenge or oppose them in their great power, they would challenge themselves, battling their own ranks for the sake of maintaining the slaughter. Eventually this self-sustaining death machine, this device of war, mutated into the ones that were known today as the Black Army The Army was the result of the chaotic masses suddenly coming. Some called them the black ones, others, Shadow lords. None dared to call them a friend. It was here that battle was fought daily, not for the sake of any ideal or concept, but due to the sheer boredom the armies had amassed for many ages, long since born into the culture of war, a civilization forged from death. new lord was proclaimed. A far more savage, brutal, and intelligent lord than the Black Army could have ever hoped for. And this new high general began creating a bastion for the otherwise vagrant army of darkness, and once it had been devised, he took a name fitting his status and power. Malakaezar the Black Dragon, head of the army of darkness. But he wasn't content to merely let his army settle into the Dark Continent as his predecessor had, and hungrily, this rogue turned his gaze to the lands beyond, licking his lips at the unfazed lands just Bardson Wolfe the high golem was up to. Screaming as those heads fell over them, the black warriors perished then and there at the hands of the Sarganatas Hydra, a horrific monster that planted itself into the ground, waiting for prey to come to it. Born to destroy, born to kill, raised from the youngest available age to kill or be killed, to devote oneself to senseless bloodshed. And no god could hold sway over their hearts. They knew, for many were those who had been attacked by divine magic intended to sway their hearts away from what the majority of the warriors considered to be their true purpose. However, to a black warrior, such as divine magic was simply considered a jest, for gods could never exist within their hearts. They were immune to holy intervention, though it had been tried many times. Most, if not all the warriors were so resilient to divine magic and spells that a single warrior could weather out a smite spell, considered to be the strongest of Divine Magic because the God connected to it was the one attacking.
Reader beware! This is a big story so it takes volumes of pages to explain the details. However under the heading of Thunder at Dawn, a lot transpires. The beings who participate in the adventure are the particularly stubborn type, brimming over with the will to live. At times the characters face a struggle to survive within their habitat that appears to be more like a living hell. However, to Leon Davith, his Golem son Bard along with his Enchantress companion who is called Quill , team up with two Warrior Ferries who believe that joining with these eccentrics to seek a high and mighty adventure is pure heaven. But all that changes! Bard chanced to carry the Mighty Sword, as he approached the Gnomish City located on the Threshold of the Unknown he noticed how after unsheathing Thunder At Dawn' it reacted by jolting, hissing along with emitting the battery of sparks. It was said that thunder at Dawn was forged from a brilliant lightning bolt striking Dawn itself. Leon the Grand Wizard said that Thunder at Dawn was forged from was forged from a brilliant lighting bolt striking Dawn itself. Meanwhile Quill loaded airship to make a lengthy journey Moreover Erin in Leda returned to Eleven Sky City to insure the well being of the inhabitants. Bard began studying the course and laying the navigations down, while Leon left on an errand to the Empire across the ocean that was headed by the Seer of Shadows, who'd doubtless was elated by the news of the Dark Lords resignation. For the moment Leon had other concerns he brought several things with him namely a phial of the cure he could replicate a phial of Blue Rose potion Yaga had given him, he could now create it at any time, for Blue Roses were a mercifully common plant in many parts of the world and quite easily procured. In one instance Erin and Leda glanced up to see a renewed Leo entered the room, is this size having been returned to its youthful state thanks to the Blue Rose Potion he'd drank. Leon? Don't I get a sit of the cure-all for Crow's feet?" Quill shouted in mock outrage. Quill raised out of her chair to grab the now youthful Leon Davith in a headlock. 'Just allow me to use that potion you stupid jerk!" She snarled, rubbing the wizards scalp raw with her fist. In another less than humorous incident was God came to stand before Bard. "Give that cursed weapon to me boy", said the god. Thunder at Dawn's true form went alight once more and began sending pillars of energy forth even as a lure slowly rose to his feet single-mindedly racing for his friends Bard on the other hand slowly advanced on thunder at Dawn even as it sent waves upon waves of energy after Bard blown back again and again the Golan stubbornly held on as he rushed to the sword stabbing it with its counter shadow blade his intuition paid off. in The black energies of that weapon left the hilt and immediately began corrupting the towering blade of raw energy . thus, chaos had been stopped before his plans could be once again set back into motion. What was the first "as the demon Lord Constable meanwhile back in God sheathe, the red warrior stood before the remains of thunder at Dawn, grabbing up Shadow Blade's hilt and smiling with the remains of its black energy issued forth sheathing the weapon, sheathing the weapon he left whistling to his Emerald Bird the two flew off leaving the cursed remains of Thunder at Dawn far behind as well as pursuit of the sword. Read realized it was time to make tracks. The two flew off leaving the cursed remains of thunder at Dawn far behind as well as his pursuit of the sword better to leave it at that for no sword designed to destroy the world was worth wielding, that he knew for sure. Finally near the end it was concluded that to great swords could not coexist." We should remain apart while we have the weapons." Bard sighed
