White Monsoon is a codename for a plot by six Libyan terrorists to flood the United States with bargain-basement-priced heroin. This release intertwines two novels, subtitled, MORPHINE BASE set in March, 1992 and PURE HEROIN around Halloween of the same year. "Scott, I'm mad at you " the voice in Xenia, OH said. "What's the matter, Jim? What are you mad about?" "You sent me your book and I opened it, started reading and couldn't put it down. I read it straight through and hardly got any sleep in three or four days." Then he laughed. "No. You have really got something here. This is a wonderful story." James H. "Pee Wee" Martin, 101st Airborne - 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Battalion - G Company Morphine Base is an intriguing fast-paced collection of stories that weave together into an international thriller. One story line follows a group of Libyan terrorists with curious non-Muslim names as they weed out a Mossad informant in their midst, masquerade as members of the International Red Cross and transport five eighteen wheelers from Libya to Nimach (an acronym for Northern India Mounted Artillery & Cavalry Headquarters) a town of about 150,000 known for the highest opium production in India. In another story line, Scott captures the world of the opium trade from both the licit and illicit sides of the coin by focusing on one group of licensed opium farmers and their interactions with vicious drug traffickers as they try to bring their opium harvest to market once again in Nimach. High ranking Mossad agents come across the pond to ask the help of old friends at the CIA's training facility nicknamed "The Farm" in Virginia. The Mossad want help finding a missing agent who had infiltrated a dangerous terrorist group and almost discovered the terrorists' plot--code named White Monsoon. Pure Heroin is aptly titled because it is the central theme around which the entire tale is spun. Heroin causes the three year old daughter and infant son of an educational programmer of personal computers to be kidnapped and taken to a remote prison built in a molybdenum mine abandoned by the Russians following their brief occupation of Afghanistan. Heroin causes the death of the daughter and husband of a woman who helps the terrified father. Wonderful people, the father and the woman who helps him find themselves drawn to each other with ever growing yearnings, visceral and deep, as they try deperately to override their feelings and stay focused on finding out where the man's children have been taken. This PG-13 yarn about two American heroes delights all ages according to some wonderful feedback. One twelve year old Indian boy gave it to his grandparents who looked forward to the book more than television and read the book to each other. This seems to be a trend. We're hearing from numerous couples they've been reading to their spouses or to their families once or twice a week and it's helping to bring people back to the dinner table. We've had people receive the book as a gift who were sad at first that they didn't get something by one of their favorite authors. One taxi driver from Oklahoma City wrote, "I almost took the book to Barnes & Noble to exchange it. I'm so glad I didn't. I read it while waiting in taxi stands and had it sitting in my passenger seat. I ended up giving it to a site locator for the movie industry who was looking for farms for another twister movie and told the guy what a great low budget movie it would make.

He is currently retired after serving more than 17 years as principal of P.S./I.S. 208 in Queens, and for over 31 years with NYC Department of Education. During the school year 2018/2019, Dr. Philemy served as master principal for the Office of Leadership, NYC DOE, to mentor/coach five newly assigned principals. He has been a lecturer in the Educational Leadership Program for Stony Brook University and Queens College, preparing aspiring school administrators in school budget and operations, leadership theories, and school building administration. Dr. Philemy studied at Hofstra University for the degree of Doctor of Education in Specialized Programs in Education. He successfully defended his dissertation entitled: “Parents’ Perception: Understanding Parental Involvement Through the Lens of Community-Based Organizations” in May 2017 and obtained his doctorate in Education and Policy Leadership in August 2017. Additionally, Dr. Philemy is a humanitarian and philanthropist. As such, he co-founded NEGES (Nest for Educational Growth and Environmental Safety) in 1996 and recently, IMODEL (Institut Moderne de Leogane). With a clear focus on energy conservation and environmental protection, NEGES has been providing technical support and educational assistance to the community of Leogane, Haiti, in environmental protection and energy conservation. After the horrific and devastating earthquake of January 2010, NEGES has played an instrumental role in building community awareness by engaging the underserved neighborhoods in grass roots projects that enhance their knowledge of self, family, and community. Dr. Philemy is fluent in English, Haitian Creole, French, and Spanish, and passionate for the arts. He excels in free hand art, sketching, calligraphy, painting, and more. As an educator, he strongly believes that children should become proficient in the science of the arts and the arts of the sciences. He is very eclectic in his tastes for art and music. The late James Mahoney went overseas in the spring of 1944 as the leader of one of the four bomb squadrons in a B-24 bomb group (the original 492nd) which endured extraordinary losses for 89 days of operation before being disbanded. The enduring mystery of why such an exceptionally well qualified and prepared group suffered so singularly is one of many significant themes he addresses in his 52 vignettes. Mahoney was reassigned to a bomb group with much better luck (the 467th), and finished the war as their Deputy Commander. As both a 'man among men' and a recognized natural leader, he was positioned to note character and ability, and took it as his charge to develop both of these in the course of administering to the technical and demanding business of a combat organization comprising 3,000 souls. Later in life, wanting to make sense of what he experienced and to record the terrific sacrifice of his peers, he distilled and organized his memories. Overcoming his natural reticence to show his hand emotionally, and fearful that grisly accounts might register as sensational horror instead of sobering lesson, he labored carefully to build for his readers a rich context for his 'war stories'. These memoirs take the reader through the methodology and equipment of aviation and strategic bombing in the era before stand-off weaponry, when hundreds of planes at a time, each with ten-man crews, flew in unpressurized planes through flak and fighter filled skies for hours at a time at 40 degrees below zero, to bomb targets in Hitler-occupied Europe. He introduces the reader to his acquaintances and friends, commanders and charges - a range of memorable rascals, unforgettable heroes, and ordinary mortals showing their true mettle and courage under dire circumstances. Jim Mahoney's account of his 13 months in combat is an engaging mix of timeless morals and enduring humor. The big themes are laid out with common sense, while the practical joke, the stroke of genius, or personal quirk are offered as clear windows to the host of characters and their relationships. These certainly capture the fact and flavor of the daylight bombing campaign over northern Europe and make a contribution to the historical record, but they also transcend that specific time and place, drawing the readers in any era into human drama, played out in all of its variety in the pressure-cooker of wartime. The son's contribution has been to document some of the more unusual aspects of his father's account, so that these can be received as more than just precious memoir - as contributions to the historical record. This has entailed many interviews, travel to remnants of his father's Rackheath and North Pickenham bases in East Anglia, and contemplation of the horrible effectiveness of aerial bombardment on several of the Mighty Eighth Air Force's 'ground zeros' in Germany. I never considered I would become an airline pilot. It was always " too expensive "or "took too much time", or I would not be hired "with-out a four college degree". Perhaps because " I wore eye-glasses..." I was content to offer Flight Instruction in my community, and did quite well teaching new low time private pilot students, and Advanced certificate pilots. I have been employed by six airlines, and the only reason I was hired at each one was because the airline needed pilots to operate the airline! I began researching the commercial pilot status and numbers, and realized there truly is a pilot shortage world wide. In my book I speak about the training and preparation that go into obtaining a pilot license. I will take the reader on an actual Airline Transport Pilot check-flight, describing the sensations and maneuvers required for the Captain candidate to master. We will fly a simulator during our training, and I will relate a humorous story that helped to break up the monotony of performing the same flight profile over, and over again. I will explain the various aircraft systems as they pertain to flight, so perhaps a non-pilot airline passenger may feel more informed of how an aircraft operates. I will also address the aircraft performance factors that may actually aid the passenger in selecting routes and times, to ease their occasional travel delays. Lastly, I will relate a few "super-natural " instances that by my only explanation the Christian Lord was watching over my flight. I have truly been blessed in my life by becoming a commercial airline pilot!
