This book covers the Cortex-M, a 32-bit MCU (microcontroller unit) built with an ARM processor core, and the Mbed OS, an operating system developed to efficiently manage processors. The book is largely divided into five parts. In Part 1, the background of the microcontroller, necessity, characteristics, and configuration of the Mbed OS will be described. Part 2 is about programming for basic input/output devices, and lays the foundation by learning not only basic functions but also their utilization. In studying basic input/output functions supported by Mbed OS over several chapters, it is configured to first look at basic concepts and develop utilization skills through practice using those functions. For example, learning the functions of the Timer class will help you to think from various viewpoints about the structure of the program. In Part 3, the major communication methods such as UART, I2C and SPI necessary to design and realize an embedded system will be studied since they have not been covered in detail in despite of their importance. In addition to the interface with peripherals using these communication methods, topics about efficient communication using callback functions are also examined. Part 4 covers advanced programming topics related to Bus I/O, RTOS, and Circular Buffer. In particular, RTOS classes such as Thread, Mutex, and Queue will be learned through various examples. Part 5 introduces projects that require multiple functions and concepts of Mbed OS, so that readers can improve their application skills. For example, we will challenge to develop ultrasonic rangefinder, stepper motor drive, encoder reading, DC motor PID control, Lidar scanner, and AHRS (attitude heading reference system) using IMU (inertial measurement unit) sensor to enhance the overall application capabilities and further to obtain practical system configuration skills.

For more than two millennia believers have struggled with the antinomy of God's absolute sovereignty over and man's ultimate responsibility in justification and sanctification. Theologians have used some version of the terms »active justification« and »definitive sanctification« in an attempt to illuminate this mystery. However, in the past decade scholars have begun to criticize these concepts, saying that they are unsupported in Scripture, lead to theological confusion, and are of no practical benefit to believers.Through the work of theologians from the broader Dutch Reformed tradition, especially Herman Bavinck, Alexander Comrie, Herman Witsius, and Abraham Kuyper. Jae-Eun Park demonstrates that the terms »active justification« and »definitive sanctification« are derived from Scripture and serve to clarify, not obscure the doctrines of justification and sanctification. In addition, the book shows that neglect, misuse, or misunderstanding of the terms have resulted in contemporary criticisms that are unconvincing and unfounded.Writings of the aforementioned theologians define and expound four characteristics held in common between active justification and definitive sanctification, i.e., inseparability, objectivity and decisiveness, Christ-centeredness, and God's absolute sovereignty – concepts of the mentioned theologians. All four characteristics of active justification and definitive sanctification emphasize the »God-driven« nature of salvation.Jae-Eun Park explains how – when properly defined and presented – the two terms are important theologically, bringing clarity to the issue of the perfect balance between God's sovereignty and human responsibility in salvation. He also shows how active justification and definitive sanctification offers practical assurance of their perseverance unto glory to true believers, and provides pastors with an invaluable tool for exhorting parishioners who may have lapsed into either triumphalism or defeatism.

This study advances contemporary postmodern/poststructural critical theory, literary criticism in particular, with the help of Mahāyāna—especially Ch’an/Seon (Chinese and Korean Zen)—Buddhist thought. The quest for theinfinity of the Other (West) and Emptiness or the true I (East) contributes to the exploration of the contemporary critical issues of ethics and infinity. Such an approach will awaken our sense of unrepresented, genuine transcendence and immanence; The Buddhist Emptiness shows us the absolute Other illuminated on a vaster scale. The theory section explores and links Eastern and Western philosophies, switching between the two. While discussing in depth Hegel, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Derrida, Levinas, Lacan, Deleuze, and Nancy, this study gradually guides the reader from the contemporary Western thought on the Other and infinity to the Buddhist vision of Emptiness, the ultimate reality. To overcome the dualistic mode of thought inherent in tradition of Western metaphysics, this exploration follows the line that observes Nāgārjuna and the imprint of Ch’an teachings that are most prevalent in South Korean Buddhism. The last three chapters demonstrate a Levinasian and Seon Buddhist approach to the book of Job, part of the Judeo-Christian Bible, as being a more literary than religious text, and the excess of the Gothic mood in the two most distinguished and widely celebrated novels—Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. The three texts compel readers to confront the infinity of the absolute Other or Emptiness. The Grand Prize Winner of the 7th Wonhyo Academic Awards from the Korean Buddhism Promotion Foundation.
