These essays reflect much of the essence of my life and thinking about what it means to exist on this planet. I hope they resonate with readers, as I put absolutely everything I had into them. That said, I still love chatting with people on the street, and fishing remains a passion after sixty years.
The author of this book took a very deep breath after writing hundreds of articles and several books over many years. It requires only a modest leap of faith by the reader. Specifically, one needs to go far beyond the narrow, legal definition of proof of life. While crucially important, it usually only provides some evidence that the person in question is still alive. In this book, I chose to go well beyond this definition and consider lives that are lead with life itself. We're talking about people who don't simply go through the motions and pay their bills. They pour their hearts, adrenaline, imagination, and a search for excitement on the table. So, dear reader, are you alive or really alive?
Street Signs takes a wide-angle view of unusual if not outright weird yet actual street signs from around the country and beyond. Each one tells or suggests its own story, which we relate here, and collectively, the essays and stories represent much of how we feel about living in this wonderful country.
Well into middle age now, the ringleader herself of the Southern Ladies Mafia, Carla "String Bean" D'Andrea, guides her team of gorgeous and provocative renegades in one last stretch of treachery. Only after realizing the depths of their depravity does the team finally seek redemption. Reigniting one's soul for good rather than evil is a challenging climb for anyone. For Carla, it was her Mount Everest.
This third volume in the Proof of Life series further expands our outlook on and philosophy about being truly alive, as opposed to simply going through the motions. Doing the things and associating with people that bring you joy, from your family to your vocation and everything in between. Far too many Americans find themselves in debt and living in a dead end, working dull and sometimes extremely stressful jobs with no particular future. All of us can take at least a few steps in a better direction that will bring us far more satisfaction with our lives and those we truly care about. Being truly alive in our core and living life to its fullest, even under extraordinarily difficult conditions at times, is what binds us all together as human beings. We always have a choice between a life that no one will remember after we are gone and one that is filled with spiritual and emotional richness.
Proof of Life takes a wide-angle view of a term that is usually limited to kidnapping cases involving potential ransom payments. The author uses that narrow definition as a launching point to explore many other ways in which we all know that we are indeed alive and experiencing life to its fullest. “Cover photo of Samantha Fish performing in Cambridge, Massachusetts, by the author.”
Dancing With the Devil finds Carla “String Bean” D’Andrea and her southern ladies mafia teamed up with a group of elderly men, all ex-convicts. Together they go on a violent rampage across three states while occasionally pausing to consider friendship, time travel and mental illness. Join them as they take you on a hell of a ride. And buckle up.
Carla "String Bean" D'Andrea, a frustrated attorney from Charleston, teams up with a gang of like minded souls on a spiraling rampage of crime and destruction. Redemption and renewal elude them until they carry out a final mission far up the coast in Boston. Along the way, Carla finally understands how her stunning physical beauty is their two edged sword of destiny.
Join renegade corporate attorney Carla "String Bean" D'Andrea and the Southern Ladies Mafia as they wreak havoc and mayhem in the US and overseas. Buckle up for a wild ride.

The deaths of Marilyn Monroe, Jack Kennedy and his brother Robert Kennedy became the subject of many conspiracy theories. Jack Lee's play, written in the form of a musical, presents an imaginative version of those events, which is closely based on reports of the time. The tight web of conflicting purposes and conspiring factions is woven into a terse drama presided over by the fates, in which the unwary dreamers, Marilyn Monroe, Lee Harvey Oswald and the would-be big-shot Jack Ruby are as much victims as the assassinated politicians.
Vine royalty, YouTube megastars, hip-pop sensations, and best friends, Jack & Jack bring their own brand of irreverent comedy, on-point style, and heartfelt life advice to You Don't Know Jacks. Jack & Jack: You Don't Know Jacks is a 240-page, full-colour behind-the-scenes look at the lives of Jack Gilinsky and Jack Johnson, two of the hottest stars performing today. The book details the rise of two best friends growing up in Nebraska, posting Nerd Vandals Vines, to becoming iTunes bestselling rap-rock stars. Full of exclusive photographs, backstage antics, and hilarious anecdotes, it's perfect for any fan who's ever dreamed of someday being famous.
