The book theorizes how fiction can generate musical experience, explains what constitutes that experience, and explores the musical dimensions of three American novels: William T. Vollmann’s Europe Central (2005), William H. Gass’s Middle C (2013), and Richard Powers’s Orfeo (2014). Musical Stimulacra approaches fiction’s music from a readerly perspective. Instead of looking at how novels forever fail to compensate for music’s physical, structural, and affective properties, the book concentrates on what literary narrative can do musically. In his recent book, Spiritual Battle, the author used the expository method of the Word of God. He presented the aspect of prayer in the work of intercessors, as the Christian's most powerful weapon; the basic issues of the Trinity in which all the weapons might be used in accordance with the Throne of Grace. The related issues of the Father as the Provider; of the Son, as Mediator; of the Holy Spirit, as Helper assured security in the battle against the saints of the Lord. Furthermore, the author intended to reveal the Christian's enemy - the devil, the enemy of God-unveiling his strategy since the beginning and his methods of attack. Finally, he proves that the prayer warrior's weapons are effective. Now, he exposes the best strategies to battle, as per the Word of God, as a weapon of attack. The best strategy in a battle is the offensive! But when we are dealing with the enemy, we must outnumber him three times more. The weapons must be used with full power in the combat front, but supported by heavier and more accurate long range weapons. We are part of an army where the General is Christ - his number of celestial angels is three times higher. His invincible power is the Trinity, where the Father is unchangeable and indestructible; the Son, everlasting, lives forever; the Holy Spirit guarantees great power above any power existing on Earth or beyond. The author, in the first part of this book, talks about real Me experiences since his childhood, through his teen years, youth and the early stages of his own family - engagement and marriage - the call to his ministry, showing in a simple example how the Lord of the Harvest works through his servants, as they present themselves as a living, holy and pleasant sacrifice to him. After 30 years as a minister, since the early 60's, the Lord's call for the author to be an Ambassador to more than 140 countries, preaching the Gospel in several languages and dialects and being prepared for the Holy Spirit's work in a very special way, always trying to maintain his self control, studying all the manifestations of the power of the Holy Spirit and of the glory of the Throne of God through the mediation of our Lord of lords - Jesus Christ - our supreme Master, Savior and King. Sharing his personal testimony of three decades of victory, to the glory of Jesus, in the word of testimony - logos - and of the word of faith - rhema - the author intends to establish the link between the authority of the word logos, witnessed through the ages, and the circumstances when the Lord delivers his power so as to make us more than conquerors. It is essential, therefore, that each soldier of Christ become a brave warrior, who correctly handles the armor of God. Each Christian is under the foreknowledge of God, from birth to death. The heavenly Father knows his children in their mother's womb, like Jeremiah (Jeremiah 1:5). Thus, all who are called are chosen, however, only a few respond in a positive way to his call. This is why Jesus said that a few are the chosen ones; as in the case of the warriors who were not prepared for the battle (Judges 7:2-9).

This open access book presents simple, robust pre-field screening protocols that allow plant breeders to screen for enhanced tolerance to heat stress in rice. Two critical heat-sensitive stages in the lifecycle of the rice crop are targeted – the seedling and flowering stages – with screening based on simple phenotypic responses. The protocols are based on the use of a hydroponics system and/or pot experiments in a glasshouse in combination with a controlled growth chamber where the heat stress treatment is applied. The protocols are designed to be effective, simple, reproducible and user-friendly. The protocols will enable plant breeders to effectively reduce the number of plants from a few thousands to less than 100 candidate individual mutants or lines in a greenhouse/growth chamber, which can then be used for further testing and validation in the field conditions. The methods can also be used to classify rice genotypes according to their heat tolerance characteristics. Thus, different types of heat stress tolerance mechanisms can be identified, presenting opportunities for pyramiding different (mutant) sources of heat stress tolerance.

After a century of working with such tools, geology has advanced from a descriptive science to an analytic s- encethatformulatesconclusionsbasedonexactvalues.Thetechnologyofradiogenic isotope geology has created a branch of science that considers the Earth as a planet generated within a Solar system and studies the subsequent evolution of geologic processes that has resulted in the present formation of our planet’s continents and oceans. The physicist Vitaly Ginsburg, Nobel Prize laureate, wrote recently: “If Kepler had been given information on orbital parameters of planets with modern precision, he would not have been able to formulate his laws”. Indeed, after development of laws of celestial mechanics, methods of measurements became so advanced and such numerous secondary distortion effects were found that to describe an orbit of a cosmic body by a curve of the second order would appear impossible. But it does not mean that Kepler’s laws are “cancelled”; they still occupy an honorable place in courses on celestial mechanics. A reasonable division into basic and secondary phenomena is accepted and the latter are entered as variations in the basic equations.

Yet, Soviet models informed how Yugoslav communists approached gender-related issues for many years, even after the conflict erupted between these two countries.

There is little hope of reconstructing by means of comparative or typological studies a lingua adamica essentially different from present-day languages. The distant preverbal past is however still present in live speech. Phonetic, syntactic and semantic rule transgressions, far from being products of a deficient output, are governed by a universal iconic apparatus, a sort of 'anti-grammar' or 'proto-grammar' which enables the speaker and the poet to express preconscious and subconscious mental contents that could not be conveyed by means of the grammar of any language. Secondary messages, generated by the proto-grammar are integrated into the primary grammatical message. The two messages whose structural and semantic divergence represents a chronological distance of hundreds of thousands of years, constitute a dialectic unity which characterize natural languages. Many large mathematical models, not only models arising and used in environmental studies, are described by systems of partial differential equations. The discretization of the spatial derivatives in such models leads to the solution of very large systems of ordinary differential equations. These systems contain many millions of equations and have to be handled over large time intervals by applying many time-steps (up to several hundred thousand time-steps). Furthermore, many scenarios are as a rule to be run. This explains the fact that the computational tasks in this situation are enormous. Therefore, it is necessary to select fast numerical methods; to develop parallel codes and, what is most important when the problems solved are very large to organize the computational process in a proper way.The last item (which is very often underestimated but, let us re-iterate, which is very important) is the major topic of this book. In fact, the proper organization of the computational process can be viewed as a preparation of templates which can be used with different numerical methods and different parallel devices. The development of such templates is described in the book. It is also demonstrated that many comprehensive environmental studies can successfully be carried out when the computations are correctly organized. Thus, this book will help the reader to understand better that, while (a) it is very important to select fast numerical methods as well as (b) it is very important to develop parallel codes, this will not be sufficient when the problems solved are really very large. In the latter case, it is also crucial to exploit better the computer architecture by organizing properly the computational process. - Use of templates in connection with the treatment of very large models - Performance of comprehensive environmental studies - Obtaining reliable and robust information about pollution levels - Studying the impact of future climatic changes on high pollution levels - Investigating trends related to critical levels of pollution

Each species account will also include a list of salient references and, where necessary, remarks on systematic status. We envision eight chapters: six devoted to the major ixodid tick genera (Amblyomma, Dermacentor, Haemaphysalis, Hyalomma, Ixodes, Rhipicephalus), one covering eight minor genera (including two that are fossil), and a concluding summary chapter. There will be two tables on host associations and zoogeography in each major genus chapter, as well as five tables in the summary chapter, for a total of 17 tables. No similar synopsis of the world’s hard tick species exists in any language.
