My food preparation concept is easy to follow, because I do not count calories, and I do not measure portion sizes. I make healthy food choices, and I always read labels. Choosing the right foods and ingredients contributes to health, well-being, and energy levels. After my husband and I changed our eating habits in 2006, we both lost weight, and we have maintained a healthy weight, and healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels since then. Since we are empty nesters, many of the recipes serve four or less, and they can easily be doubled.

Inhaltsangabe:Abstract: Much has been written on expatriation so far but literature is mainly US based. An exhaustive critical literature review serves to discover underresearched areas, to look for aspects from other disciplines that could be enriching, and to identify areas where empirical data are missing or weak. In order to test the applicability of articles on expatriation to different contexts, an empirical study on expatriation in Austria is conducted. Information on the Austrian background, where data on expatriation simply do not exist, are gained through explorative interviews with personnel managers of Austrian companies and with former expatriates. Based on those, and on the findings from literature, hypotheses are created, which are tested with the help of a large questionnaire study among expatriates from Austrian and foreign controlled companies located in Austria. Although considered as essential for a successful completion of the foreign assignment in theory, some fields are only rarely found in practice (e.g. predeparture training, support for family). Others, on contrast, are seldom mentioned in the literature but of high practical relevance (e.g. goal setting, psychological level, distinction between different types of expatriates according to different transfer aims or different host countries). In most of the cases, the applicability of studies is limited. Certain factors have to be adapted according to different contexts. Artificial Intelligence is at the top of the agenda for education leaders, scientists, technologists and policy makers in educating the next generation across the globe. Beyond applying AI in daily life applications and educational tools, understanding how to learn and teach AI is increasingly important. Despite these emerging technology breakthroughs, AI learning is still new to educators especially to K-16 teachers. There is a lack of evidence-based studies that inform them about AI learning, including design principles for building a set of curriculum content, and pedagogical approaches as well as technological tools. Teaching AI concepts and techniques from programming languages and developmentally appropriate learning tools (e.g., robotics, serious games, software, intelligent agents) across different education levels emerged in recent years. The primary purpose of this book is to respond to the need to conceptualize the emerging term “AI literacy” and investigate how to teach and learn AI in K-16 education settings. This book examines different aspects of learning artefacts, pedagogies, content knowledge and assessment methods of AI literacy education, from theoretical discussions to practical recommendations for curriculum and instructional design. An exhaustive summary of current evidence with examples is illustrated in this book, as well as cutting-edge research that serves as an AI literacy model for different countries’ contexts. Part I, “Conceptualizing AI literacy”, provides a detailed discussion on the development of the concepts and frameworks on AI literacy education, discusses the differences and similarities between AI in education (AIED) and AI literacy education, and illustrates the reasons why K-16 students need to learn AI. The present volume is the result of an interdisciplinary oral history research project, which was carried out at the Centre for German-Jewish Studies at the University of Sussex. It focuses on the Kindertransport, the British rescue operation saving 10,000 predominantly German-Jewish children from Nazi Germany, and is based on in-depth case studies of five child survivors of the Holocaust. Looking at human development over the life cycle as mediated by intervening trauma was at the heart of the project, which examined the making and breaking of a child's close ties to significant others, processes of identity formation under acculturative stress as well as the creation and recall of traumatic memories. The study is thus one of the few in the field of attachment research which sheds light on the lifelong influence which early attachment has on coping with massive cumulative trauma. The former child refugees' narratives are enriched by letters, diaries, or articles written by them and their (host) families as well as by interviews conducted with family members and friends. Consequently, we can look at individual lives and collective destinies from more than one perspective as we are provided with rich, multi-layered accounts of people's whole-life trajectories. While each Holocaust survivor's developmental story is unique, it is, however, linked to the others' by the common experience of negotiating an identity between two countries, cultures, and religions against the background of unparalleled political upheavals, and as such also sheds light on, and offers ways out of, the traumata suffered in present-day contexts of enforced migration and displacement.
