When Childhood relationships are carried on into adulthood, sometimes its hard to remember why you were friends in the first place. Especially when there are secrets that not everyone knows about each other. Daniel considers himself a true friend to all, but he senses that there are times when Stacy is more receptive to Big Anthony. Even though they have all known each other since they were in grade school, Big Anthony and Stacy always have that certain connection that no one else can figure out. And with everything else going on in Daniels life with his on-again/off-again girlfriend Melissa, he feels like his opportunities for happiness are progressing slower than normal. Stacy has never been a true believer in a lifetime of happiness. Her views and ideals on relationships stem from an abusive home environment that she just cannot let go of. Men are disposable and love never means what people want it to mean. The only steady relationships she has had are her close nit group of friends. But only one of them truly knows all of the demons that haunt her. Big Anthony has been her closest confidant since high school, the only one she trusts with all of her past. But when she, Big Anthony and the rest of their friends are confronted with a devastating loss, and unforeseen circumstances, it takes all of Stacys courage, will and faith to see how much they all can overcome and move on from the past to the future.
This book was written foremost because I love studying prophecies of the Bible. Bible prophecy feels to me like putting a large puzzle together. This book is a study of the book of Revelation, but it is more than that. There are over three hundred verses in the Old Testament about Christ’s first coming, and over five hundred verses about his second coming. There are also many verses in the New Testament about Christ’s second coming outside of the book of Revelation. Understanding what will happen in the end times means studying all of the passages about future events. Along with taking a look at the verses about the end times throughout the Bible, I will also discuss various ways people interpret future prophecies. This book is titled The Omega because it takes a look at what the end looks like as described by the God who will end it all.
To examine the precise fulfillment of prophecy is to appreciate the awesomeness of God, and to acknowledge that...[he] has shown his omniscience in the past by a multitude of fulfilled prophecies... gives assurance that all of the prophecies still to be fulfilled will take place precisely as foretold. In One Minute to Midnight on God's Clock, Dr. Henderson Ward takes readers through an in-depth and detailed analysis of the faithfulness and wonders that God has and will exhibit to believers in the days to come. Embarking into the difficult territory of the book of Revelation, Henderson's ability to bring logical insight to God's mysteries allows today's reader to see the intricacy and detail to which God has attested in his Word. Henderson takes readers from the first principles of humanity's origin, philosophies on the nature of the universe, and the spiritual aspect of mankind, to the wisdom of God and his immovable promises of the future that he has revealed in the Bible. Readers will receive a deeper understanding of the church's purpose, and will more clearly see the road to the blessed hope, Christ's return. It is One Minute to Midnight on God's Clock, and the second coming of Christ is imminent.
Fathers of disabled children can feel overlooked when the focus of much parenting support is aimed at mothers. Different Dads is a collection of inspiring personal testimonies written by fathers of children with a disability who reflect on their own experiences and offer advice to other fathers and families on the challenges of raising a child with a disability. The fathers featured represent a broad spectrum of experience. Their contributions reflect a wide range of cultures; some are single fathers, others are married adoptive fathers. What they all have in common are the challenges that face them and their families in raising a child with a disability. Issues explored include the reactions of family, friends and colleagues, how to deal with the organisations and professionals that support families with a disabled child, and the difficulty of being open about feelings in a culture that doesn't always expect men to have a sensitive or nurturing role. Offering direct and thoughtful perspectives on being a father of a child with a disability, this book will be a valuable source of support and information for families with disabled children, and also for health and social care professionals who work with these families.
In a time when companies are outsourcing abroad, Habitat International, a Tennessee-based carpet manufacturer, has managed to achieve superior levels of productivity at home, often two to three times greater than its competition. Habitat's business has grown enormously, with much of its new business coming from work outsourced to them by competitors who could not come close to matching its productivity. Habitat's secret: they hire the people no one else will. At Habitat three of every four workers have a physical or mental disability. They earn normal wages and are cross-trained on every job. They work harder, with less supervision, lower turnover and an unparalleled level of loyalty. The challenges have been significant; the rewards extraordinary. This is Habitat's story. It's a powerful and moving tale of personal courage, deep commitment and challenging expectations. It's a story of success and personal triumph. It'll change the way you think about business … and the people around you.

At the biological crossroads of the Americas, Costa Rica hosts an astonishing array of plants and animals—over half a million species! Ecotourists, birders, and biologists come from around the world, drawn by the likelihood of seeing more than three or four hundred species of birds and other animals during even a short stay. To help all of these visitors, as well as local residents, identify and enjoy the wildlife of Costa Rica, Carrol Henderson published Field Guide to the Wildlife of Costa Rica in 2002, and it became the instant and indispensable guide. Now Henderson has created a dedicated field guide to the birds that travelers are most likely to see, as well as to the unique or endemic species that are of high interest to birders. Birds of Costa Rica covers 310 birds—an increase of 124 species from the earlier volume—with fascinating accounts of the birds' natural history, identification, and behavior gleaned from Henderson's forty years of traveling and birding in Costa Rica. All of the accounts include beautiful photographs of the birds, most of which were taken in the wild by Henderson. There are new updated distribution maps and a detailed appendix that identifies many of the country's best bird-watching locations and lodges, including contact information for trip planning purposes.

This book is mostly a collection of true stories about demonic beings frightening, torturing, and creating chaos among humans. The first reason I authored this book was because I simply enjoy this topic. Yes, I am a bit odd. I find topics that are strange, mysterious, and diabolical to be interesting. The second reason is because we are in a spiritual battle, and I find many Christians that I know seem to be almost oblivious to this fact. My hope in this book is to make you more aware of the battle going on around us and that we can and should be ready to defend and battle Satan and his demonic army. “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” Ephesians 6:12.
Lilacs in the Snow chronicles Caasi's passage from desolate childhood to impetuous adolescence to a shaken, yet solid adulthood, and is intertwined with the similarly volatile political, socio-economic, and racial climate of the mid-twentieth century. The story begins when an adult Caasi returns to Montréal and visits her estranged father. The encounter rekindles fragments of her childhood chaos, and she takes the reader on a gripping journey through the world of her collected memories, which are illuminated by flashes of sensitivity, poignancy, budding sensuality, resilience, humor, and abidi.
You are the Christ; we are your church. Christ and Community:The Gospel Witness to Jesus casts new light on how Jesus’s followers sought to faithfully live into the reign of God as recorded in the Gospels. Dr. Henderson traces the contours of Jesus’s messiahship found in the four Gospels, but rather than taking each Gospel in turn, she works thematically, treating different aspects of Jesus’s mission and identity found across the four accounts. Rather than assuming Jesus’s exclusive status, the author exposes Gospel evidence for the clear communal implications of his messiahship. It turns out that the Gospels do more than simply affirm that Jesus is the Christ; they cast a vision of messianic community for those who would call him Lord, in the first century and beyond. This accessible introduction offers a case for Christ and community that answers perplexing questions that have long plagued NT study. "Christ and Community: The Gospel Witness to Jesus, by Suzanne Watts Henderson. One approach to understanding the Gospels as scripture is to consider their functions—specifically, how these writings describe and reinforce essential connections between Jesus’ followers and their Lord. Written as an introductory textbook, Christ and Community can help even seasoned exegetes grasp the means by which the Gospels’ stories depict Jesus’ work and identity in ways that equip Christian communities to make sense of their own work and identity." The Adventure Story Picture Bible offers an engaging and child-friendly exposure to both well-known and more obscure Biblical stories. Children will, of course, learn about Adam and Eve, Noah and the flood, and Joseph's coat of many colors, however, they will also encounter stories such as "Elijah and the Angry King" and "Josiah the Boy King." And, of course, they will also learn about the first Christmas, Jesus' baptism, the Last Supper, and his death and resurrection. This Bible can be read to young children, who will delight in the colorful illustrations, and older children will be drawn by the "comic strip" format to pick up this Bible and read it to themselves.
