This book provides a comprehensive, practical guide to the 6th amendment of Council Directive 2011/16/EU on administrative cooperation in the field of taxation (known as DAC6). Florian Haase offers insight and clarity into the mandatory reporting obligations imposed by DAC6 on intermediaries engaged in tax matters involving cross-border activities, and in some cases taxpayers themselves, as well as the characteristics or ‘hallmarks’ outlined in the Directive that trigger these obligations.
Florian Haase presents a comprehensive overview of the general mechanisms by which taxation is withheld in Europe and explores their practical implications. He expertly navigates the complexities of international tax law and provides a rigorous examination of the challenges currently facing this area of legislation, including tax evasion and avoidance, double taxation, and tax treaties.
Contemporary connections between German directors and Hollywood and their implications for German, American, and transnational film. The film histories of Germany and the United States have long been seen as intertwined, but scholarship has focused on émigré works of the 1930s and 1940s, on links between Weimar film and American film noir, and on the conflictedrelationship between directors of the New German Cinema and Hollywood. Recently, German film studies has begun reexamining the interconnection of the two film cultures and focusing on the internationalism of German cinema, but little research has been done on contemporary German directors'' involvement in American cinema, a gap in scholarship that this book fills. The study offers ways of understanding current German cinematic engagement with America and different directorial responses to the hegemonic pressures of Hollywood. It delineates the historical trajectory of German-American film relations in the 20th century, then analyzes the careers and works of four German-born directors who have significant ties with American cinema: Wolfgang Petersen, Roland Emmerich, Percy Adlon, and Tom Tykwer. A series of close readings of their productions isolates the cinematic practices and strategies with which these filmmakers negotiate the different national cultural and cinematic paradigms they traverse. The book analyzes constructions of national cultural identity, probes the boundaries of national cinemas, and expands our understanding ofemerging hybrid film cultures. It is a contribution to German film studies and to the emerging field of transnational film studies. Billions of dollars are tied up in the inventories of manufacturing companies which cause large (interest) costs. A small decrease of the inventory and/or production costs without reduction of the service level can increase the profit substantially. Especially in the case of scarce capacity, efficient production schedules are fundamental for short delivery time and on-time delivery which are important competitive priorities. To support decision makers by improving their manufacturing resource planning system with appropriate methods is one of the most of production planning. interesting challenges The following chapters contain new models and new solution strategies which may be helpful for decision makers and for further research in the areas of production planning and operations research. The main subject is on lotsizing and scheduling. The objectives and further characteristics of such problems can be inferred from practical need. Thus, before an outline is given, we consider the general objectives of lotsizing and scheduling and classify the most important characteristics of such problems in the following sections.
This book introduces functional analysis at an elementary level without assuming any background in real analysis, for example on metric spaces or Lebesgue integration. It focuses on concepts and methods relevant in applied contexts such as variational methods on Hilbert spaces, Neumann series, eigenvalue expansions for compact self-adjoint operators, weak differentiation and Sobolev spaces on intervals, and model applications to differential and integral equations. Beyond that, the final chapters on the uniform boundedness theorem, the open mapping theorem and the Hahn-Banach theorem provide a stepping-stone to more advanced texts. The exposition is clear and rigorous, featuring full and detailed proofs. Many examples illustrate the new notions and results. Each chapter concludes with a large collection of exercises, some of which are referred to in the margin of the text, tailor-made in order to guide the student digesting the new material. Optional sections and chapters supplement the mandatory parts and allow for modular teaching spanning from basic to honors track level.
In this book, Franciscan priest Fr. Albert Haase, OFM, and Protestant pastor Phil Vestal bring to life nine spiritual practices from the life and ministry of the ancient Hebrew prophet Elisha—practices later promoted by Jesus, Paul, and subsequent figures in the history of Christian spirituality. These spiritual practices point directly to important themes in spiritual formation: •The call of God •Healing •Perseverance in the face of opposition •Gratitude and charity •Prayer, petition, and intercession •The tension between obedience to the law and Jesus’ command to love •Living with the awareness of God’s investment in every human endeavor •God’s ever-present grace and protection in the face of trials and tribulations •Mercy Based upon incidents in the life of an ancient prophet, these nine practices are life-giving bones that God uses to instill new spirit and creativity in the contemporary believer.
