The book is a philosophical, religious and practical discourse on Five Foundations of Human Development. It offers compelling philosophical, analytical and empirical arguments for a better world, which is inherent in the worship of God, service to humanity, obedience to governing authorities and management of God's creation. The authors examine problems that we encounter daily, and they postulate solutions from Spiritual, moral, social, intellectual and physical perspectives. They essentially explore some of our past and present approaches to solutions to human problems. They propose new "revolutionary" approaches to human development that call the reader's attention to a new "enlightenment," new "hope" and new "optimism," informed by a new "Body of knowledge." The authors strive to explain the Christian message of God as delivered and taught by Jesus Christ, however it is not a work that is exclusively for Christians. Their discourse recognizes the comparable message and desire for the unity of humanity by other world religions. They present their discourse not as experts or giving expert advice, but simply as individuals with a desire to add another dimension of thought and enquiry to the vast storehouse of human knowledge. The primary purpose of their discourse is to demonstrate the positive benefits to humanity when Biblical (religious) perspectives underpin every human endeavor. These endeavors include (but are not limited to) family relations, national and international relations, engineering, science and technology, economics, history, education and health. These endeavors dictate human progress. Gibbs and Grey contend that humanity can realize the greater ideals of leadership and authority in the world through the application of the teachings of Jesus Christ and the great prophets. The authors appeal to leaders of the 21st century - educational, political, scientific, and business to seek the knowledge, wisdom and understanding of God in using our vast global "natural" wealth, science, technology and human capital to educe relevant and applicable strategies for the betterment of "all" humanity. For Sergeant Grey, the path from captivity to freedom would take numerous unpredictable twists over a period of almost two years, eventually leading him into Yugoslavia to fight with guerilla units under the leadership of General Draja Mihailovich, and finally to freedom in late May of 1945. The details of Sergeant Grey’s escape and recapture, beatings by the Gestapo, and solitary confinement— save one episode of brilliant thinking, comradery, and courage by a small group of POWs who hid Sergeant Grey within the wires of Stalag 17B for four months— have never been fully disclosed to the American public. Sergeant Grey was initially hidden in an escape tunnel while Gestapo, SS troops, and attack dogs searched for him. He became known as the Grey Ghost by the Germans. Coauthor Ned Handy chronicled this event brilliantly within the story of his own POW experience, a book titled The Flame Keepers (2004). That episode reveals the tremendous depth and significance of the human condition, conveying the face of war, during both wartime events and the aftermath as experienced by combat veterans reclaiming their personal lives. The experience of war did not end for Frank Grey on the European continent. Within a few years of the end of World War II, having continued his commitment to the service of his country, he entered into yet another perilous fight: the Korean Conflict. He flew fifty-seven missions over North Korea as a B-29 tailgunner—a commitment that was filled with constant risk and uncertainty. This true story has a deep, significant message for all readers— but especially for American veterans and their families. The strong messages of commitment, courage, and sacrifice can be reflected upon, considering the increased uncertainties of international events on our horizon.

In the process, indigenous movements have emerged as important social actors, raising a variety of demands on behalf of native peoples. This book examines the struggle for indigenous rights in eight Latin American countries. Initial studies of indigenous movements celebrated the return of the Indians as relevant political actors, often approaching their struggles as expressions of a common, generic agenda. This collection moves the debate forward by acknowledging the extraordinary diversity among the movements composition, goals, and strategies. By focusing on the factors that shape this diversity, the authors offer a basis for understanding the specificities of converging and diverging patterns across different countries. The case studies examine the ways in which the Indian question arises in each country, with reference to the protagonism of indigenous movements in the context of the threats and opportunities posed by neoliberal policies. In 2005 a panel of scientists and doctors from MIT, Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Microsoft, and the Venter Institute participated in a contest to judge whether de Grey's "Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence" were worthy of debate and verification or whether these ideas were wrong on their face. The panel found that de Grey's proposals for intervening in the aging process, while speculative, often "ran parallel to existing research" and were not "demonstrably wrong.
