Often the most misunderstood, and therefore ignored, member of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit deserves our attention and understanding. God the Father and God the Son rightfully garner much explanation and exploration, and God the Holy Spirit ought to be given the same studiousness, curiosity, and scholarship. In this addition to Crossway's Foundations of Evangelical Theology series, Dr. Graham Cole has written a work that offers a comprehensive theology of the Holy Spirit. This book shows the ultimate selflessness of the Holy Spirit as the member of the Trinity who always works for the glory of God the Father and God the Son and the good of the saints. Ideal for pastors, teachers, and students of theology, this book is a superb theology of the Holy Spirit. Part of the Foundations of Evangelical Theology series.

Understanding socially disruptive behavior in dementia is never easy. Most explanations offer neither solace nor solutions for families and carers, and treatment is often characterized by policies of control and containment. The result of Graham Stokes' 15 years of clinical work with people who are challenging, this book: disputes the traditional medical model of dementia and asserts that if we reach behind the barrier of cognitive devastation and decipher the cryptic messages, it can be shown that much behavior is not meaningless but meaningful. It contrasts the medical interpretation that sees anti-social behavior as mere symptoms of disease with a person-centered interpretation that resonates change and resolution. It offers a radical and innovative interpretation of challenging behavior consistent with the new culture of dementia care, focusing on needs to be met rather than problems to be managed.

The Uses of Reform is a study of the Reformation as a movement for behavioral reform, concentrating on Scotland during the first fifty years (1560-1610) of its Reformation as a primary example. The opening chapters trace the development of "Godly Discipline" as part of the European-wide reform movement. Graham follows this general narrative with a study of the creation and implementation of a disciplinary system in Scotland. Finally, he compares disciplinary practices in the Scottish Church with those of the Huguenot communities of France. Looking closely at the proceedings of church courts which enforced regulations concerning behavior, Graham paints a picture of the Reformation as a social process. This book, the first of its kind in the historiography of the Scottish Reformation, explores how Reformed protestantism affected local communities and redefined relationships.
Just at the moment when conflicts between critical "isms" are threatening to turn the study of English literature into a game park for endangered texts, Bradshaw arrives with a work of liberating wit and insight. His subject is double: the Shakespeare he reads and the Shakespeare whom critics in the ranks of the new historicists and cultural materialists are representing (or misrepresenting).

This eighth volume of The Shakespearean International Yearbook presents a special section on 'European Shakespeares', proceeding from the claim that Shakespeare's literary craft was not just native English or British, but was filtered and fashioned through a Renaissance awareness that needs to be recognized as European, and that has had effects and afterlives across the Continent. Guest editors Ton Hoenselaars and Clara Calvo have constructed this section to highlight both how the spread of 'Shakespeare' throughout Europe has brought together the energies of a wide variety of European cultures across several centuries, and how the inclusion of Shakespeare in European culture has been not only a European but also a world affair. The Shakespearean International Yearbook continues to provide an annual survey of important issues and developments in contemporary Shakespeare studies. Contributors to this issue come from the US and the UK, Spain, Switzerland and South Africa, Canada, The Netherlands, India, Portugal, Greece, France, and Hungary. In addition to the section on European Shakespeares, this volume includes essays on the genre of romance, issues of character, and other topics.

Know Thyself." Such was the advice constantly offered over 2,000 years ago by the famed Greek Oracle of Apollo at Delphi. It was given in response to those who sought her counsel regarding the course their destiny was likely to take. It is still sound advice for most of us in the modern world. To come to really know oneselfdiscover ones distinctive temperament and characterrequires frequent self-scrutiny. It is well nigh impossible to know what makes one "tick" without recognizing the nature of ones attitudes and responses to life in the outside world, while also acknowledging the highly personal inner psychological drives of feeling, thought and imagination. The consciousness that impels us is psychologically deep and wide-ranging. The search for the essential Self requires a "Sherlock Holmes" mentality and discipline: its a hell of a job to unify outer and inner "consciousnesses." This book should help. Every chapter can be seen and read as its own "story" describing an especially significant aspect of consciousness. Cumulatively, they are meant to help readers attain a sense of their own body-mind-spirit complexes and who they are as entities unto themselves. And then to ask the question as to where "reality" is to be found: in the mental life of thoughts and feelings . . . or in physical encounters with the material world of time and space?

When the AEC Mandator V8 was introduced in 1968 it carried with it high hopes for the future of AEC and the Leyland Group. Nothing remotely like it had been produced before. Word soon got around about its excellent performance. However, just as word had spread about the initial performance of the model, so news soon travelled about the problems arising in service. Eventually the lorry was withdrawn from sale. Since the early 1970s when most of the 300 or so Mandator V8s sold in the UK had been withdrawn, there has always been a strong undercurrent of interest shown in it. AEC Mandator V8 has been out of print for many years, and has been brought back in 2016 to make this fascinating story available again to AEC enthusiasts and those with an interest in general transport history. Graham Edge is a trucking journalist and author. (Series: Commercial Vehicles Archive Series) [Subject: Commercial Vehicles, Transportation]
