When Papa Smurf tries to make a new fertilizer for the crops, it transforms an ordinary flower into a dangerous "smurfivore plant." When two Smurfs try to get rid of the fertilizer by dumping it outside the Smurf village, a bird swallows it and becomes a huge monster—The Howlibird! Now, the Smurfs must figure out how to defeat the monster and save their village.

When one of the Smurfs wants to emulate Papa Smurf, he decides the best way to do so would be to practice magic. The Smurf sneaks into Gargamel's lab, and steals instructions for a magic potion. The instructions however, don't say what the potion does – the only way to find out is to test it! The Smurf drinks the potion and is turned into a lizard that all the Smurfs are afraid of. Can Papa Smurf change him back? Or will this Smurf be seeing green for the rest of his life? Also featuring the stories "Smurftraps" and "Halloween.

Uncle Placid has his work cut out for him, with thieves of every stripe always plotting to break in and steal the money, but he never expected a thief to try and steal the machines that make the money! While traveling back home with Benny during a school break with the printing plates on board, it looks like super-strong Benny might be the only one able to fend off a daring raid!

Francois Gos (1880-1975) is a Swiss artist who, following his diploma at the Geneva Ecole des Beaux-Arts, moved to Paris where he became involved with the emerging Arts Decoratifs movement of the early 1900s. In 1901, the famous Librairie Centrale des Beaux-Arts commissioned the young Swiss artist to produce 20 drawings of Swiss alpine flowers, which he executed with the mystical magic of the Art Nouveau style. This unique book is a faithful reproduction of 23 of his drawings and is published to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first publication.

On a quiet night in their village, a stork visits the Smurfs and leaves a Baby Smurf on one of their doorsteps. But the next day, the stork returns — the Baby Smurf was delivered by accident and must be returned! As soon as they go to fetch the baby for the stork, they find it's gone!
