To question the idea of hell as a default destination is to question the entire fundamentalist evangelical worldview. This book does just that. Fundamentalist evangelicalism holds that the Bible is an infallible authority and that all are born in sin. Sinners go to hell, but Jesus, taking their place, died to save them from hell. How did this belief come to be? What were the effects on people brought up with a belief in the reality of hell? What has been the process of people leaving the fundamentalist evangelical movement? In Bad Girls and Boys Go To Hell (or not), Gloria Neufeld Redekop takes us on her own personal journey as she engages a movement in which she was raised, conducting a careful study of the history of fundamentalist evangelicalism, the attachment to a literal-factual interpretation of the Bible, and an analysis of the experience of those who have left the movement.

This accessible book roots the practical in the theoretical, to explain carefully the principles which underpin practice, as well as offering a day-to-day reference book for classroom use. It includes ideas and examples of cross-curricular work which retain the integrity of visual arts teaching within the structures and strictures of today's primary schools.

After the ravages of the Great Civil War in heaven, God replaces both the dead and Fallen to fill the vacancies their duties demand. These replacements are slightly modified to ensure revolution would not occur again. Viziel is the first reborn, suspected by many to be a close replica of Lucifer himself, and thus a horrific danger to all of heaven. His assigned duties are withheld from him until he bow before the very throne of God, an allowance granted only to the most honorable of God's servants or most vicious of traitors. Before God's throne he is named the Angel of Chaos. Unfortunately, because chaos naturally opposes God's providential order, God has no choice but to command Viziel's betrayal. If Viziel refuses the order he is treacherous, if he obeys, a traitor nonetheless. The commandment is a paradox, which cannot be defied. Due to his unavoidable transgression, Viziel is sentenced to execution so as not to feed Lucifer with new recruits. In his imprisonment, before a formal facade of a trial, a superior informs Viziel that his execution is meant as a symbolic victory to God as overcoming his chaotic forces. Viziel's execution does not end in death, but reincarnation, where he will again be reformed, assigned as Angel of Chaos, and executed for his natural defiance once more. This damned reincarnation is eternal. God imposes this perpetual punishment to reinforce his never ending control over chaos and secure the safety of his providential design as well as all the beings within it, especially His most prized - humanity. Viziel, as Angel of Chaos, however, has a unique power to invoke discord. As a result, his execution goes horribly wrong. Chaos is unleashed to fulfill his own agenda. This is the story of the beginning of his revenge.

The following memoirs involve one woman’s attempt to expose a family curse bestowed upon them through trickery and deception. This novel is a search for answers, a struggle for truth and integrity. This is an argument for karmic justice for the author and her extended family members’ and their birthright. The following pages are one woman’s journey through hell. This is a quest to rid herself of the ghosts of her past and reveal her multibillionaire cousin’s hidden identity “It’s difficult to determine if Kingsnorth’s story is one of fiction or perceived truth, since the preface says “novel,” but the content reads like a memoir.” -Kirkus Review “ A Matter of Family: A Cousin’s Lament is a memoir of author Gloria Marie Kingsnorth’s fictional self, written in letter form to her alleged cousin, billionaire Grant Wilson Billings. The author’s writing keeps the reader enthralled. Her narrative bends and refracts the black and white of her protagonist’s life into ambiguous gray... Motifs similar to those found in the work of Edgar Allen Poe, like incest, murder, and insanity, are expertly infused in this modern Gothic.” Four Stars (out of Five) -Clarion Review

Part one of his plan was now complete, and he was ready for part two. He rolled his special marijuana joint larger than normal. He wanted the full effect of the mixture to take effect quickly. This novel is an exciting book to read and the genre is between a thriller and a mystery, because of all the twists and turns that this story takes you through. The story talks about everyday life and what really goes on in our lives. It touched upon all aspects of life and the ups and downs and the heart aches of life, death and deceptions. My husband Victor believed in me enough that he gave me this title and encouraged me to write this book. He said, Write a novel surrounding this title, The Jealous Bridesmaid. At first I laughed and I thought to myself that he was crazy, because I didnt know the first thing about writing a book. I eventually sat down at my computer and started typing and to my surprise, I wrote this novel. The Jealous Bridesmaid is based upon two best friends Rozelle Grant and Rachel Smith. Rozelle was the bad girl with good looks and lots of drama in her life and Rachel was the strong silence type; she was a spiritual woman but very bossy. The girls grow up together in a small rural town in Georgia. Rozelle Grant was a very pretty and a perky young lady with lots of problems with multi personalities, because she was envious of every body, especially Rachel. Rozelle tried to destroy Rachels relationship with her fiance Raymond. Rozelle would use whatever means possible to get what she wanted, even if she had to kill to get it. Rachel Smith came from a large family that lived on a farm. After high school, she went to college on a four year basketball scholarship to Georgia University. After college she move back to Parkerville and got a job working at a Tire Plant, where she was a supervisor. Her fiance Raymond also worked there, as a supervisor but in another department. Rachel was the rock and the support system for her large family and everybody depended on her. After dating Raymond for two years, they finally got engaged and were planning to wed, but Rozelle would try to do everything possible to destroy that relationship and to make sure that the wedding never took place. My first novel is based in a country setting, a rural town in the south of Georgia. This novel touched upon real life scenarios, such as funerals, drowning, deaths, wedding, and births. It also touches upon every aspect of life and the imagination as well. Christianity, relationships, breakups, make ups, heart aches, homosexually, bullying, voodoo rituals and lots more. There are situations about obesity, hypertension, high risk pregnancy and the outcome of what happen when it is not treated. Some parts of this story makes you laugh, cry and think about life as a whole. I compiled a lot of different situations together to come up with a great book. Readers will definitely be intrigued with my novel and cannot wait to find out what happens next.
The Bemused Time Traveler is a story of transition, but more than that, it is one womans journey to truth through love and forgiveness. A most unusual and provocative book, the story dares to crisscross the psychological with the paranormal crafting, an interesting mixture of suspense that will leave the reader wanting more.

Over nearly three centuries, Jesuit, Franciscan, and Dominican missionaries built a network of churches throughout the Ònew worldÓ of New Spain. Since the early twentieth century, scholars have studied the colonial architecture of southern New Spain, but they have largely ignored the architecture of the north. However, as this book clearly demonstrates, the colonial architecture of Northern New SpainÑan area that encompasses most of the southwestern United States and much of northern MexicoÑis strikingly beautiful and rich with meaning. After more than two decades of research, both in the field and in archives around the world, Gloria Fraser Giffords has authored the definitive book on this architecture. Giffords has a remarkable eye for detail and for images both grand and diminutive. Because so many of the buildings she examines have been destroyed, she sleuthed through historical records in several countries, and she discovered that the architecture and material culture of northern New Spain reveal the influences of five continents. As she examines objects as large as churches or as small as ornamental ceramic tile she illuminates the sometimes subtle, sometimes striking influences of the religious, social, and artistic traditions of Europe (from the beginning of the Christian era through the nineteenth century), of the Muslim countries ringing the Mediterranean (from the seventh through the fifteenth centuries), and of Northern New SpainÕs indigenous peoples (whose art influenced the designs of occupying Europeans). Sanctuaries of Earth, Stone, and Light is a pathbreaking book, featuring 200 stunning photographs and over 300 illustrations ranging from ceremonial garments to detailed floor plans of the churches.
