Much less research has been done for assessing and diagnosing older adolescents and adults in this area. This work is an effort to provide a comprehensive review of what we know about certain of these disorders, specifically: language-based learning disorders; nonverbal learning disorders; high-functioning autism; attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder; and mathematics disorders and how they manifest themselves in the later years of development and maturity. A chapter addresses each one of these disorders of learning. Included in each chapter is a discussion of historical perspectives, definitions and diagnostic criteria, incidence and prevalence data, comorbidity studies, pertinent research from all relevant fields of study, reasonable accommodations in academia as well as the workplace, and outcome data. This much-needed review will be of interest to clinicians in neuropsychology, educational psychology, and psychopharmacology.

Cooperation: An Experimental Analysis presents the results of an experimental analysis that sought to identify the factors that inhibit, maintain, or promote cooperation. Two of these factors are given particular attention: inequity and interpersonal risk between potential cooperators. Using a molar approach, the book applies some of the key methodological and theoretical insights of behavioral analysis to a group response that reflects the main conceptual characteristics of cooperation. The extent to which this behavioral response could be controlled by relevant environmental contingencies is also examined. Comprised of nine chapters, this book begins with an overview of the concept of cooperation and the measurement and experimental design used in the study. It then summarizes the results of the first experiments that focus on the link between inequity and cooperation, followed by a discussion on the effect of interpersonal risk on cooperation. Subsequent chapters focus on the role of protection and communication in promoting cooperation despite the presence of risk; the effects of the relationships between partners on the likelihood of cooperating under risk; and how a strategy of "pacifism" could facilitate cooperation. The final chapter summarizes the results of the experiments. This monograph will be of interest to social psychologists and sociologists.

The field of "Environment-and-Behavior" This bibliography is aimed at the researcher and advanced student working in the field of environmental psychology, as it has come to be designated over the past decade. A more appropriate term might be "environment-behavior studies," to suggest the important characteristic of this field as one that transcends the province of the psychologist, and brings together workers, as well as problems, methods, and concepts from a great diversity of disciplines and professional fields. Among these we may include geography and sociology, architecture, landscape architecture and planning, forestry, natural resource management and leisure and recreation research -- to name only the most important of the diverse fields from which material for this bibliography has been drawn. This is in fact one of the primary reasons for our belief in the value of such a volume. The literature in the environment-behavior field is scattered through the most diverse sources, including not only the major periodical and monographic literature in each of the above-mentioned disciplines and professions (and others as well), but also a variety of more specialized publications of varying degrees of accessibility. Thus it seemed to us helpful to the researcher, teacher and student in this area to bring this far-flung literature together in a single volume, that might be used as a guide to the field. We aimed at a comprehensive treatment, including both basic and applied aspects, and relations of behavior both to the man-made or artificial and to the natural environment.

This book records the state of the art in research on mathematics-related affect. It discusses the concepts and theories of mathematics-related affect along the lines of three dimensions. The first dimension identifies three broad categories of affect: motivation, emotions, and beliefs. The book contains one chapter on motivation, including discussions on how emotions and beliefs relate to motivation. There are two chapters that focus on beliefs and a chapter on attitude which cross-cuts through all these categories. The second dimension covers a rapidly fluctuating state to a more stable trait. All chapters in the book focus on trait-type affect and the chapter on motivation discusses both these dimensions. The third dimension regards the three main levels of theorizing: physiological (embodied), psychological (individual) and social. All chapters reflect that mathematics-related affect has mainly been studied using psychological theories.

Apparently, we are entering a "Brave New World," where truth, justice, and the American way have been cast aside for subterfuge, indoctrination, and manipulation. Most of the people who live in this amazing country, still hold the traditional values which have always been the solid ground under its foundation. Local, national, and social media, as well as the doublespeak from most of our self-serving politicians, employ outright lies and innuendo to convince the majority of good people they are in the minority and their voice is irrelevant. They have been erroneously led to believe and accept their supposed minority status, with the vast bulk of the population supposedly residing on the opposite end of the political spectrum. Such is the false propaganda being foisted on us. To quote Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's minister of propaganda: *“Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.” *“Accuse the other side of that which you are guilty.” *“You can’t change the masses. They will always be the same: dumb, gluttonous and forgetful.” *"If you repeat a lie often enough, people will begin to believe it, and you'll even come to believe it yourself." *“Propaganda works best when those who are being manipulated are confident, they are acting on their own free will.” *"A lie told once remains a lie, but a lie told a thousand times becomes the truth." Sound familiar? It ought to. We are living it, and it will be our undoing. Never believe for one minute this is simply, the way it goes in all societies. The greatest sin reasonable individuals can commit is the refusal to think and perceive reality for what it is. This is my attempt to create a character, Iggy Marcus, the epitome of integrity, bearing the standard for all honest men and women everywhere, who abhor the destruction of America, man's greatest political creation. If we refuse to take up the standard with him and abandon our obligation to posterity, we will witness America's slide into oblivion as we get what we deserve for our apathy. Gerald Ciccarone
