Geof Walker has produced four Shakespearean comedies over 20 years for eleven year olds. They have subsequently been used all over the world to ensure children and their teachers enjoy Shakespeare. They have all been described as oustanding by OFSTED and the audiences who laughed their way through 90 minutes of mirth. They are to be commended to anyone who has little knowledge of the Bard and wants children to enjoy an amazing event.
A script to be acted or read out aloud by eight to 14 year olds; a Shakespearean play that has been adapted into an 80 minute performance with or without music, keeping the important speeches virtually intact.
The main plot of The Dream is a farce that involves two sets of Athenian couples (Hermia & Lysander and Helena & Demetrius) whose romantic schemings are brought to a head when entering the forest where Oberon, the King of the Fairies and his Queen, Titania are resident. Puck is a major character who is full of mischief and tricks. Other visitors to the enchanted forest include Bottom the weaver and his friends Snug, Snout, Quince and Flute who want to rehearse their dire but hilarious rendering of the play for wedding climax. Geof Walker, retired headteacher, produced Shakespeare comedies at his school to great effect and decided to turn the success into scripts available for others. Here is the recently revised script of The Dream.

The second edition of this widely used text has been carefully rewritten to ensure that it is up-to-date with cutting-edge debates, evidence, and policy changes. Since the book's initial publication, there has been an expansion of interest in disability in the social sciences, and disability has come to play an increasingly prominent role in political debates. The new edition takes account of all these developments, and also gives greater emphasis to global issues in order to reflect the increasing and intensifying interdependence of nation states in the twenty-first century. The authors examine, amongst other issues, the changing nature of the concept of disability, key debates in the sociology of health and illness, the politicisation of disability, social policy, and the cultural and media representation of disability. As well as providing an excellent overview of the literature in the area, the book develops an understanding of disability that has implications for both sociology and society. The second edition of Exploring Disability will be indispensable for students across the social sciences, and in health and social care, who really want to understand the issues facing disabled people and disabling societies.

Many teachers had no experience of teaching children with special needs and the new developments were likely to pose a substantial challenge. This book provides a guidance for inexperienced, especially new, teachers in how to teach children with special needs in ordinary classrooms. An important feature of the book is realism – the book grows out of the author’s own experiences and research. The author describes what really happens and bases his suggestions on practices which are likely to bring results.
