After graduation from Willard High School, he attended and graduated from John Carroll University and Bowling Green State University. He worked in the area of developmental disabilities for almost forty years and grew to know many special people. He coauthored the book Manual for Constructive Leisure Time Activities and authored the book People + Me and authored and coauthored several national publications. Joe is retired and lives in New Rochester, Ohio (near Pemberville), with the love of his life, Kathy.
