The first official publisher’s anthology featuring the exemplary talents of the authors of BLACK BED SHEET BOOKS! "Black Bed Sheet is not only a publisher of fantastically creative horror books but knows the meaning of heart and integrity....Grabowsky has taken BBS to heights that few could have imagined with his drive, determination and talent, along with the talent in his stable. If you haven't read anything from BBS, it's past time you did but it's never too late!" --- Gene Tipton, A SHOT IN THE DARK COMICS "I had this idea for an anthology. A crazy, outside the box thought that I hoped would at least ignite some interest. Well, it not only ignited, the damn thing drenched the entire office at Black Bed Sheet Books and its publisher Nicholas Grabowsky in a orange and red hue of excitement. This has now become a solid joint effort spanning the many talented authors of Black Bed Sheet Books, highlighting the core value of writing: character depth. When Nick gave me the green light, I began to construct this list of talented writers. Some are veterans of the writing landscape [such as myself], others are brand new and cutting their jagged incisors deep into the skin of the publishing world. My only requirement for the authors became the simple task of all, write a story that has deep characters and emotion. A story evolves only so far as the characters propel it. I wanted the characters stripped down to their skeletons. Heroes, villains, somewhere in the middle? Bring them through the emotional grinder, chew them up, spit them out, where will it take the reader? Or, what about a few stories with different spins on such figures as Dracula, Adolph Hitler, the Devil, and Snow White. A few of these stories are dark in nature, or splashed with a form of comic ingenuity. Others are entrenched in history with a different spin that left me squirming in my seat. These authors are bright, fresh, talented, comedic, compassionate, and downright scary when they want to be. So sit back, turn off the lights, and read the book. Or die. I wouldn’t want that to happen to you, but then again once you step inside our world, anything can happen. Close your eyes. Take a breath. The sounds you hear are real. There is no turning back. Keep reading. Or die." --from Introduction by Jason Gehlert --Featuring the talents of— Fred Wiehe - Cinsearae Santiago - Brandon Ford Jessica Lynne Gardner - Lincoln Crisler - Jason Gehlert - William Cook - Reyna Young - Tom Sawyer - K.K. - Rey Otis - Shannon Lee - B.L. Aleric Toma Bimbai is a two-hundred-year-old Rom, Gypsy, and a legend among his people. He hunts monsters for bounty, a gun for hire, with secrets as dark as midnight in a graveyard. He is a hero and rogue rolled into one, with preternatural powers of his own, only slightly better than the supernatural creatures he hunts. His exploits border on the mythical and the legendary. His is a land where good versus evil in a never-ending battle for supremacy, and in his world a very thin line separates the two. He walks that line every night. He is in a constant struggle to remain on the side of good, but he must often cross over to the side of evil and meet his adversaries on their ground. Defeat is not an option. He is a hero who believes that the end does justify the means, and he will do whatever it takes to win and to stay alive to fight another day. To that end there is a price to pay. But he pays it willingly, sacrificing eternal salvation for his own soul to help make the world better for all. Aleric’s task this time is to save a zombie rather than exterminate it. But Wasso Wonko is no ordinary zombie. He’s different. He can still think. He can talk. Besides, Wasso is also Gypsy. Aleric soon uncovers an immoral alliance between local doctor, Wilhelm Ratterman, and the self-proclaimed King of the Gypsies, Carranza Tene. Tene is supplying his own people as guinea pigs for Ratterman’s bizarre experiments. Ratterman is in search of a serum that will not only give him strength and courage but also immortality. But he’s foolishly using the zombie virus as a catalyst in his serum. Under the guise of free flu shots, the doctor’s testing that undeadly serum on the Gypsies that King Tene supplies him. Is there an antidote? If so, can Aleric find it in time to save Wasso from his undead existence? To complicate matters, Wasso goes missing. Ratterman’s serum—a Molotov cocktail of chemicals, zombie virus, and now vampire blood—succeeds only in regressing the doctor back through evolution, transforming him into a rampaging, primitive beast—a Neanderthal. King Tene puts a contract out on Aleric’s head. Pearsa, Aleric’s new girlfriend and boojo woman is running a scam on an old woman, and both she and her mark go missing. Aleric believes that Jeta, his two-hundred-year-old vampire wife, targeted Pearsa in a fit of jealous rage. What’s worse, Jeta’s vampire lover, Kinski, is set on ripping out Aleric’s heart—you don’t want to get vampires jealous. Aleric must find the antidote if it exists. He must now track down both Wasso and the Neanderthal. One, he must save. The other, he must destroy. Pearsa’s life also depends on him finding her. But he must save her without harming Jeta in the process, for he and his vampire bride have a relationship that is not only long and dark but twisted and complicated. And to succeed, Aleric must fight his way through King Tene’s Gypsy henchmen, an assassin bent on collecting a high-priced fee, and the pissed-off vampire Kinski. To succeed he must simply stay alive, for he is the world’s best hope and last line of defense against evil. He is Aleric: Monster Hunter.
An ancient and evil entity-a monster from another dimension-has murdered Frank Talbort's wife, brother, and sister-in-law and stolen his identity. In possession of Frank's body, the monster embarks on a bloody killing spree that terrorizes San Francisco. Meanwhile, Frank desperately searches for a way back to three-dimensional time. He must re-enter the physical world if he has any hope of stopping the monster that controls his former body. To that end, he turns to a comatose patient for help. Officer David Kemp has suffered a traumatic head injury while investigating the murder of Frank's wife. He now lies in a hospital bed, fighting for his life. Frank's spirit joins with David's and successfully reawakens the broken body. However, their combined spirits also awaken an internal, schizophrenic battle between two personalities. The competing memories and emotions make it all but impossible to function. Somehow, the two spirits must come to terms with their inner demons and learn to work together. Time is running out. The body count is rising. And the monster has his sights set on David's wife next. They must stop it in time. These are Strange Days indeed.

Alfie Free and Tommy Chandler, two San Jose police detectives, have been partners and friends for thirteen years. While neither of them is willing to acknowledge that omniously numbered anniversary, they can't escape the strange and horrifying events ahead. They soon find themselves knee-deep into the occult, chasing a drug kingpin and self-proclaimed vampire. Moreover, their snitch turns up in a back alley. Dead. Drained of all his blood. When Tommy unexpectedly inherits a ranch in the Santa Lucia Mountains of Big Sur, both he and Alfie agree they need a vacation and quickly flee San Jose. They can not, however, escape the dark cloud of their thirteenth year together. In Big Sur, while traveling through a dark and foreboding forest, Alfie and Tommy meet and quickly befriend a band of Gypsies. And suddenly, they're forced to protect these new friends from wolfish beasts with hell-fire eyes. The only warning of the beasts' imminent attack are their Night Songs!
