A guide to conscious living through the moon and her phases, incorporating wellness rituals, spellwork, and witchcraft for the modern seeker. We all know the moon. We all have a relationship with it. The earliest people obeyed her orbit, timed their months and holidays and celebrations and agriculture to the moon; the echoes of that system are still visible today, though the connection to the moon is often forgotten. Sarah Faith Gottesdiener is the leader of a movement to remind us of that lineage, guiding our rhythms and our sleep, our energy and our emotions, reminding us of our humanity and our magic. In her self-published Many Moons Workbooks and Lunar Journals, as well as her sold-out classes, she has guided over 50,000 readers to a deeper relationship with the moon, and through it, with themselves. This evergreen book will be an informative and comprehensive guide to lunar living, incorporating radical, self-empowering, and magical tools and resources for the beginner and experienced lunar-follower alike. Depending on where we are in our lives, depending on what we are feeling or what is happening around us, the moon allows us a space to invite ritual into our daily lives. The Moon Book will provide a framework on how to utilize the entire lunar cycle holistically, while offering ways for the reader to develop a personal relationship with their own cycles—energetic, personal, and emotional—through the lens of the moon’s phases.

This collection of articles by artists, philosophers, psychologists, and social scientists explores the Sufi tradition and its best-known teacher, Rumi, a 13th-century poet, jurist, and philosopher. Setting aside the standard account of Rumi as a poet of mystic love, these contributors view his writings in a historical context, investigating Sufism''s ties to Islam and the teachings of the Prophet Mohammad and tracing Rumi''s influence on Persian and Turkish literature. The reasons why Sufism has transcended national boundaries and sectarian strife so successfully are also debated, and several contributors recommend the Sufi message of faith, love, and tolerance as a useful common ground for dialogue between religious groups.

What is the meaning of grace, of sin, of the sacraments? How are we to understand our dependence on God or relate to the person of Jesus? What roles do the Bible and the church play in our life of faith? Talking about theology needn't be boring or stuffy, the authors argue. Rather, it is exhilarating to explore the why of our faith. Each of 13 key doctrines is explored theologically, scripturally, in pastoral application, and in a sample sermon.
Ben F. Eidse is Shakambangu, a messenger who announces the truth, so-named by the Lunda-Chokwe who appreciate his commitment to learning their heart language, proverbs and culture. He often began his messages with a Chokwe proverb about the kambangu bird who doesn’t speak empty words like the prairie chicken, but announces the first sliver of the moon. He was also called “Tata,” a wise elder and “blacksmith who equipped us, not with guns, but with the Word of God,” which he translated, with two Chokwe pastors/storytellers. Eidse is among the rare western students of Lunda-Chokwe language and culture, which spreads over nine countries of central and southern Africa. His unique and original research captures Lunda-Chokwe oral history in print, tracing that blended tribe’s origin stories and cultural values. The Disciple and Sorcery is his career study of Lunda-Chokwe worldviews, including family and clan values, sorcery practices and experiences of Biblical discipleship. His research hypothesis is that a culturally relevant biblical discipleship can deal effectively with the fear of sorcery and the temptation to use it to harm others. This book will particularly appeal to the Lunda-Chokwe people, as well as to anyone who treasures respectful insight into a traditional society.
This fascinating new book explores what life was like during the Templars' stay in Somerset during the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. It reveals the struggles over land ownership in the county, and introduces the reader to little known historical characters including William de Marisco, revealing his struggle with the Templars, and claim to the throne of England. The final chapter explores the controversy surrounding a carved wooden man's head discovered in a Somerset church. The author has found compelling evidence to suggest the church was not only built on Templar land, but had a connection with the Grand Master of the Order himself. Richly illustrated and compiled using original research, this book is sure to appeal to everyone interested in medieval history.

I am that B. I. T. C. H. lady, was and is divinely inspired by God, through dreams and visions. They were received in my spirit, to share and pass on with simple instructions. Tackles scripture from a broad-thinking, feminist perspective. . . . Smart and impressive."--Publishers Weekly One reason the Bible has endured for millennia is its ability to reach our common humanness and give uplifting insights about struggle, resilience, and hope. Intertwining academic knowledge and candid, personal, and sometimes humorous stories, Julie Faith Parker helps readers engage biblical texts with both mind and heart--to learn the Bible's stories, explore theological ideas, question common assumptions, develop interpretive skills, and grow in their own faith. The title chapter demonstrates how feminism interprets the Bible with fresh eyes and offers empowering insights, an approach used in the rest of the book. In each chapter, Parker reads biblical texts through a feminist lens. The book discusses both neglected and well-known Old Testament passages with one chapter on the New Testament. Parker's reflections show how vital our readings of the Bible can be as a source of strength, guidance, and joyful defiance. Additional features include questions for conversation or reflection and an overview of the entire Bible, summarizing each book in one line.
For more than four centuries, cultural preferences, literary values, critical contexts, and personal tastes have governed readers’ responses to Shakespeare’s sonnets. Early private readers often considered these poems in light of the religious, political, and humanist values by which they lived. Other seventeenth- and eighteenth- century readers, such as stationers and editors, balanced their personal literary preferences against the imagined or actual interests of the literate public to whom they marketed carefully curated editions of the sonnets, often successfully. Whether public or private, however, many disparate sonnet interpretations from the sonnets’ first two centuries in print have been overlooked by modern sonnet scholarship, with its emphasis on narrative and amorous readings of the 1609 sequence. First Readers of Shakespeare’s Sonnets reintroduces many early readings of Shakespeare’s sonnets, arguing that studying the priorities and interpretations of these previous readers expands the modern critical applications of these poems, thereby affording them numerous future applications. This volume draws upon book history, manuscript studies, and editorial theory to recover four lost critical approaches to the sonnets, highlighting early readers’ interests in Shakespeare’s classical adaptations, political applicability, religious themes, and rhetorical skill during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
Reaching an audience across racial, socioeconomic, denominational, and age boundaries, these guides will enhance the lives of women as they empower them in their weekly devotions.

Straight Outta Darkness is a story for God’s glory. One of the key principles of a successful addiction recovery is to bear witness of your own to give hope, encouragement and strategies to those in the trenches and battlefields of it. This book tells the story of Faith Love’s fall into the clutches of crack cocaine addiction and the miracle of her release from it. Being the product of a broken, dysfunctional family and often-times debilitating poverty, Faith sought love and acceptance on the streets of a tough Chicago neighborhood filled with an underbelly of crime and drug infestation. It was here that over the course of her young adulthood she became a violent gang member, had two babies, and got strung out on crack cocaine. She lost her home, her children to DCFS, and her dignity. This book is her redemption story, and it began when she became accountable to Jesus. His unexpected voice brought her to her knees and His love led her on the path to victory where she remains today (18 years and counting!) to tell this story for God’s glory.
