Short Story Press Presents Kidnapped Writer by Eve Gaal Kidnapped Writer is about our melting pot here in America. The main character is Viola and she’s having a horrible day. In fact, it is absolutely the worst day of her life. After years at her newspaper job as a writer, they’ve cut back on everything and put her into the advertising department. On her way out of town for the weekend, she gets kidnapped by a strange family needing her help. Outraged, Viola finds herself held captive by a very old woman in a dingy Italian restaurant. As the grandmother reveals the startling story about her family, Viola quickly forgets her own troubles. The dilemma is that things have changed and even if she wanted to help, it might not be possible. Sympathizing with her kidnappers doesn’t exactly solve her problems. Or does it? Short Story Press publishes short stories written by everyday writers.

This collection of short stories takes you on a ride through a broad swath of genres and themes: love stories, mysteries with a taste of history, cautionary tales of late night meetings with attractive men, sentience in unusual places, magic animals and a taste of the paranormal. You might find yourself face to face with a vampire or werewolf, a wendigo, or maybe a Shade hiding in the shadows. Visit the lost colony of Roanoke, a town in the countryside of France, or the dark streets of London as you read your way through this anthology.
Dragons, magic, fairies, angels, vampires, knights, a gollum, a vengeful child's toy, a depressed cashier, a bridge made of stars, and a donkey... What do they all have in common? An appearance in this anthology. This collection of short stories is as diverse as the Creativia authors who wrote them. Travel to Victorian London, an otherworldly slave market, a faraway planet, a quaint English town and other wondrous places in the pages of Once Upon a Broken Dream.
A prologue provides commentary from Sts. Basil the Great, John Chrysostom, Gregory of Nazianzus, Symeon the New Theologian, Gregory of Nyssa, Didymus the Blind, and others on Genesis 1-5. The compassionate Lament of Eve follows a simple style based upon the commentary by the Church Fathers. Many thought-provoking insights are included on: the creation and dignity of men and women; the image and likeness of God and theosis; mankind's stewardship of the earth; propgation before and after the Fall; the tree of life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil; the fall, the reasons for the expulsion from Paradise and the sentence of mortality, God's love and providence and His primacy in our lives.
