On the 18th of April, 2018 everything changed in Nicaragua. Daniel Ortega's government used police and paramilitary forces to attack and kill civilians who were peacefully protesting changes to the nation's social security system. Following these initial attacks, civil unrest and government repression ravaged the country, killing hundreds. This collection of short stories and poems introduces Nicaraguan culture and illustrates the humanitarian crisis from multiple perspectives. The world needs to know what is happening in Nicaragua.
