My recipe books are based on favorite recipes used through four generations of my family - my mother, her mother before her, me and now my daughter. Being of Czechoslovakian descent, we each have had pride and enjoyment in our cooking expertise. My mother, especially, has contributed greatly in teaching me the art of cooking through her patience and skill. Many of our experiences are humorous, such as they time when I was about ten years old, I misread a cupcake recipe and used one and one-half CUP baking powder instead of the one and one-half TEASPOON called for. You can only imagine what kind of disaster there was when I opened the oven door! I have been accused many times by my friends that I cannot leave a recipe alone. I must always make a change here or there, add this or that. But to me, that's what makes cooking so enjoyable. My daughter is quickly becoming a good cook, although guess who gets to clean up the mess. I do have to give some credit to my husband, bless his heart (or his pouch, I should say) for having to eat our experiments. Sometimes he'll frown or groan over something he is not too anxious to try, but all in all, there is always praise. The cookbooks will be in three different books.
