Inhaltsangabe:Abstract: The implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system refers to Information Systems, Business Processes, and People. Basically, it is a changing procedure in organizations that strive for company-wide high performance. Business Process Transformation is about changing a company s focus - from products to customers. Information Systems are replaced by a homogenous system environment which integrates all information into a common system. The behaviour and skills of the company-wide personnel are adapted to perform in the new "world". The big challenge of the implementation is to have the properly-trained people for a high-performance organization. Unfortunately, most companies do not recognize that need. They underestimate the impact that the human factor has on an ERP approach; they consider the implementation as a software-installation with influence to the business. But, the implementation is much more complex. This thesis is dedicated to all those persons who intend to implement an Enterprise Resource Planning system, and who want to understand the theory of Business Process Transformation and how it is linked to Enterprise Resource Planning. To emphasize the importance of the human factors within the implementation, chapter 4 elaborates on End-User Training as a significant part of an implementation for a company dedicated to becoming a high-performance organization. This paper also includes a case study of an ERP implementation at Mitel Corporation. The case study presents information about the Company, its ERP implementation, and its approach to End-User Training. It combines results of research in the fields of peasant actions, food security, gender relations, and labour migration to a livelihood approach. Analyzing peasant life in western Sudan leads to the demand to keep options open. A review of the development programmes which affected the Sudanese rural population between independence and 1994 discloses that peasants' efforts have largely been obstructed.

After a decade in which women writers have gradually been given more recognition in the study of Irish literature, this collection proposes a reappraisal of Irish women's writing by inviting dialogues with new or hitherto marginalised critical frameworks as well as with foreign and transnational literary traditions. Several essays explore how Irish women writers engaged with European themes and traditions through the genres of travel writing, the historical novel, the monologue and the fairy tale. Other contributions are concerned with the British context in which some texts were published and argue for the existence of Irish inflections of phenomena such as the New Woman, suffragism or vegetarianism. Further chapters emphasise the transnational character of Irish women's writing by applying continental theory and French feminist thinking to various texts; in other chapters new developments in theory are applied to Irish texts for the first time. Casting the efforts of Irish women in a new light, the collection also includes explorations of the work of neglected or emerging authors who have remained comparatively ignored by Irish literary criticism.

Teruo Konos Geschichte beginnt in Yokohama in Japan und endet in Hamburg/Norderstedt in Deutschland. Dazwischen lagen Stationen in verschiedenen Ländern und die Notwendigkeit, sich mit kulturellen Unterschieden auseinanderzusetzen. Sein Leben lässt sich in drei Abschnitte einteilen: sein Leben in Japan, sein Leben auf der Suche nach einem Platz in der Welt und sein Leben in Deutschland. Teruo Kono hat einen wesentlichen Beitrag zu hartem aber intelligentem Karate in Deutschland geleistet. Er hat darüber hinaus viele Menschen in ihrem Denken und Handeln beeinflusst und ihnen Orientierung gegeben. Seine psychische und physische Präsenz im Umgang waren in Karate-Kreisen legendär. Man musste sich mit ihm auseinandersetzten, wenn man in seiner Nähe bestehen wollte. Teruo Kono war sein Leben lang unkonventionell und ist seinen eigenen Weg gegangen. Diese Individualität hat er auch bei anderen gefördert, auch wenn es nicht ganz leicht war, seinen Ansprüchen an sich selbst und anderen zu genügen. Er liebte das Leben und ist an alles mit Humor herangegangen. Teruo Konos Haltung und sein Weg lassen sich in diesem Buch nachvollziehen.
