Decades before it saturated the airwaves, Dan Jenkins and Bud Shrake actually invented reality TV--and skewered it into a comic novel that was way ahead of its time. Frank Mallory is a big gun at one of the four major networks. Cruising around Manhattan in his "Silver Goblet," a Rolls Royce limo, he finds that life in the fast lane is beginning to unravel. Having to deal with the departure of his wife, his boss "The Big Guy," and crazed Hollywood stars--while at the same time having to maintain a high-stakes job--all tend to make Frank Mallory, well, act out. After Frank struggles to fill all his number-four network's prime-time slots--it tends to lag behind CBS, NBC, and ABC--the Big Guy forces him to create a show called "Just Up The Street," which is meant to entertain ordinary Americans with the "real" lives of other ordinary Americans. Ultimately the resulting script causes the Big Guy's downfall and forces everyone else to return to a reality that comes without scare quotes. Limo is a hilarious, entertaining caricature of the lifestyle of the rich and famous, and provides a fascinating insight into the world of network television. Through a haze of booze and drugs, we see Frank's desperation for a normal life and real relationships. Frank Mallory's only true relationships are found in the confines of his Silver Goblet, where he finds friendship with D. Wayne Cooper and love with Sally Hawks. Only after a series of crises does Frank ultimately find himself--and the happiness that has eluded him. Originally published in 1976, Limo is now back in print, complete with a foreword from acclaimed author Jeff Guinn.

In this study, Edwin K. Broadhead's purpose is to gather the ancient evidence of Jewish Christianity and to reconsider its impact. He begins his investigation with the hypothesis that groups in antiquity who were characterized by Jewish ways of following Jesus may be vastly underrepresented, misrepresented and undervalued in the ancient sources and in modern scholarship. Giving a critical analysis of the evidence, the author suggests that Jewish Christianity endured as an historical entity in a variety of places, in different times and in diverse modes. If this is true, a new religious map of antiquity is required. Moreover, the author offers a revised context for the history of development of both Judaism and Christianity and for their relationship.

Named after General William Floyd, one of the 56 who signed the Declaration of Independence, Floyd, is a small town in Central New York State in close proximity to not only pivotal points in the Revolutionary War, but also in the first radio transmissions from the moon, and the first reports of the 911 tragedy at NORAD, at the former Griffis AFB abutting the town of Floyd. Floyd is home to approximately 3700 people as of the 2015 census. The town was begun by settlers in a wild, yet untamed land in an area called by locals The Punch Bowl. Immigrants from other parts of the world came to settle. There was ethnic diversity, and varying views on matters of politics, but the people who were enterprising enough, stayed to begin families some of which are still here. They were not always well educated. In fact, there were some who would now be considered callous and even far from the norm. That being only a small part in the making of and the growth of a place many know as home. Personalities ran from colorful to dour, leaving a blend of flavors in this melting pot.
