This book includes the modern approaches of emotion analysis. Also, the author refers to the previous theories, trying to show the continuity through the entire human history. To better understand the human-as-a-being, it is very important to know the processes of emotions and their determinants. Based on this analysis, we may predict the future actions of the being. This book tries to explain the p This book tries to explain the processes which are forming inside the human body, especially the processes which are happening inside the human brain. Based on the analysis done until present times, this book offers the basic information regarding the forming of micro expressions. Through this book, the author tried to present also the weak parts of the already enounced theories of emotions, especially, the weakness of the measurement of emotions.
Developing software systems which are easy to use while simultaneously increasing the productivity, performance and satisfaction of users is still a major challenge in software engineering. Thus a large number of usability engineering methods have been proposed to systematically develop software with high usability. A large number of studies indicate that even basic usability engineering methods are not integrated in software development lifecycles practiced in industrial settings. Yet problems in the adoption of methods by project teams are rarely examined. This book provides a new perspective on the integration and adoption of usability engineering methods by software development teams. The adoption of methods by project teams – contrary to popular belief – is not assured just because it is mandated by the organization. This work argues that usability engineering methods can only be regarded as integrated in the software development process of an organization when these methods are practiced and accepted by development teams. So far no frameworks for examining the acceptance of methods by project teams and for exploiting such data for guiding project teams in method deployment are available. To address this problem, this book presents an approach which consists of a process meta-model for guiding project teams in the deployment of usability en- neering methods and a measurement framework for measuring the acceptance of the deployed methods. The approach is called Adoption-Centric Usability Engineering.
Published in 1860, Max Havelaar by Multatuli brought about a phenomenal change to the literature of Netherlands. It is an indictment of the Dutch colonial policies of 1850s that were designed to exploit the native Indonesian masses. With some autobiographical elements, the novel satirizes the social setup of the Dutch people. Although the novel addresses issues of a bygone era, it is still hailed widely for its literary styles and expression of thought.
Leadership is a person's ability to influence, and influence is everywhere: from political life to the business world, from civil society to our family, from politics to business, from civil society to our family, from the old world to the world of the post-COVID era. But what exactly does leadership mean? What does it mean to be a good leader in the post-COVID world? Are good leaders made or born? What can you do to prepare or improve your leadership? You will find specific concepts, techniques and tools that will guide and assist you in the process of learning to be a good leader. Remember that you are not a leader just because you want to be, but you are a leader because others recognise you as a leader.
This compelling never-before-published account takes the reader into Red Guard and Red Army units, Moscow factories, workers' homes, and to the unfamiliar world of feudal Dagestan. Worker-revolutionary Eduard Dune was seventeen when the Russian revolution began. He joined the Bolshevik party and fought with the Moscow Red Guard during the October revolution. Notes of a Red Guard is his candid account of what happened through 1921. This uncensored account offers a rare glimpse of revolutionary Russia from the perspective of an educated, skilled worker who became a rank-and-file participant.
This book describes the structured design and optimization of efficient, energy processing integrated circuits. The approach is multidisciplinary, covering the monolithic integration of IC design techniques, power electronics and control theory. In particular, this book enables readers to conceive, synthesize, design and implement integrated circuits with high-density high-efficiency on-chip switching power regulators. Topics covered encompass the structured design of the on-chip power supply, efficiency optimization, IC-compatible power inductors and capacitors, power MOSFET switches and efficient switch drivers in standard CMOS technologies.
This book addresses the need for models and techniques to predict stability boundaries, given trends toward miniaturization of switching power supplies in battery-operated portable devices, which lead to the exhibition of fast-scale chaotic instabilities. The authors describe a method to predict stability boundaries from a design-oriented perspective, which captures the effect of the different parameters of the system upon the particular boundary. Unlike previous methods involving complex analysis based on the discrete-time mathematical model, the method introduced here allows for prediction of the overall stability boundaries within the complete design space and is based upon a simple design-oriented index.
This is Volume VII of eight in a series on the Philosophy of Mind and Language. Originally published in 1931, this book presents Speculative Results according to the Inductive Method of Physical Science. Interest in Hartmann’s conception of the Unconscious until the beginning of the present century was primarily metaphysical; his treatise was merely the first, and most significant, of the thirty volumes which set forth his “system.”
What are the keys to a good negotiation? How can you achieve an effective agreement that benefits everyone involved? What importance should we give to what, to whom and to how to negotiate? To what extent should the parties be involved? To what extent should you compete, cooperate or be complacent with others? What are the Ten Commandments of every good negotiator? The secret art of negotiation answers these and other questions that will help us to prepare for the best result in a negotiation, define a strategy and manage dififcult situations so everyone can get the most out of it. Any reader interested in negotiating effectively, productively and creatively and in reaching agreements that satisfy the interests of all the parties involved will discover the tools to do so within these pages.
