Cymbeline tells the story of a British king, Cymbeline, and his three children, presented as though they are in a fairy tale. The secret marriage of Cymbeline’s daughter, Imogen, triggers much of the action, which includes villainous slander, homicidal jealousy, cross-gender disguise, a deathlike trance, and the appearance of Jupiter in a vision. Kidnapped in infancy, Cymbeline’s two sons are raised in a Welsh cave. As young men, they rescue a starving stranger (Imogen in disguise); kill Cymbeline’s stepson; and fight with almost superhuman valor against the Roman army. The king, meanwhile, takes on a Roman invasion rather than pay a tribute. He too is a familiar figure—a father who loses his children and miraculously finds them years later; a king who defeats an army and grants pardon to all. Cymbeline displays unusually powerful emotions with a tremendous charge. Like some of Shakespeare’s other late work—especially The Winter’s Tale and The Tempest—it is an improbable story lifted into a nearly mythic realm. The authoritative edition of Cymbeline from The Folger Shakespeare Library, the trusted and widely used Shakespeare series for students and general readers, includes: -The exact text of the printed book for easy cross-reference -Hundreds of hypertext links for instant navigation -Freshly edited text based on the best early printed version of the play -Full explanatory notes conveniently placed on pages facing the text of the play -Scene-by-scene plot summaries -A key to the play’s famous lines and phrases -An introduction to reading Shakespeare’s language -An essay by a leading Shakespeare scholar providing a modern perspective on the play -Fresh images from the Folger Shakespeare Library’s vast holdings of rare books -An annotated guide to further reading Essay by Cynthia Marshall The Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC, is home to the world’s largest collection of Shakespeare’s printed works, and a magnet for Shakespeare scholars from around the globe. The chief work of the theologian John Calvin, the institutes have set the theological framework of Calvinists and Reform thinkers for many hundreds of years. Although originally written in the 16th century, Calvin's work still holds many truths that we can learn from today.
W.E Vine's greatest contribution to the Church of God was his Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words. W. E. Vine has put all English-speaking Bible students in his debt. The English reader with little or no knowledge of Greek has, of course, concordances and lexicons. These provide a skeleton: Vine clothes it with the flesh and sinews of living exposition, and in so doing makes available for the ordinary reader the expert knowledge contained in the more advanced works. In a preface to the dictionary, W. E. Vine wrote: "In any work in which we engage as servants of Christ, His word ever applies, 'When ye shall have done all those things that are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which was our duty to do
H. G. Wells' The War of the Worlds is a work of creative genius, and in many respects we are still living today in the imaginative landscape that Wells shaped in this classic of early science fiction. This parallel text edition of The War of the Worlds will provide both a stimulating subject and simple reading pleasure for students of either French or English, and it will also be useful to more seasoned comparatists who are interested in pursuing a close study of the original and its French translation, presented in a conveniently accessible form.
John Owen insisted on the importance of the Christian dealing effectively with their sinful tendencies and attitudes. He believed that God, through his Word and Spirit, had provided the guidelines and the power for this to be achieved. In this book, John Owen effectively dismisses various excuses for not engaging in self-scrutiny and yet avoids the current trend of self-absorption. In so doing, he provides principles to help believers live lives of holiness." [From back cover.]
A Transforming Knowledge of the Living God The timeless appeal of this classic book, written by a preacher with a worldwide ministry during the first half of the twentieth century, demonstrates the deep hunger for a saving knowledge of God present in each generation. Arthur Pink sought to give readers not just a theoretical knowledge of God but pointed them toward a personal relationship of yielding to him and living according to his biblical precepts. Pink's book explores attributes such as God's decrees, foreknowledge, sovereignty, holiness, grace, and mercy, among many others, all packaged in a style especially useful for pastors, teachers, and Bible students. Our God who is above all names cannot be found through human searching alone, Pink teaches, but can be known only as he is revealed by the Holy Spirit through his living Word.

Everyone has questions. Young children ask “why?” Teenagers ask “why not?” Adults sometimes lament “what if?” The God who created us and who loves us has given us the answers to life’s most pressing questions in His Word. Yet many people have no idea that God has the answers and has made them available in the Bible. Whether it is a question about where we will spend eternity or how to deal with the pain of a broken relationship, you can be sure it has been asked and answered already on www.GotQuestions.org, the source for this book. Sadly, many individuals and ministries who offer advice are not biblically and theologically solid. That’s why Got Questions? is crucially needed—a resource that answers questions explicitly from a biblical perspective, with solid evangelical theology. Written in an easy-to-understand format and organized in easy-to-follow sections, Got Questions? will help readers find the answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding spiritual matters. The questions were asked by real people struggling through real-life issues who received solid, practical answers from the Bible. The articles in this volume are compiled from the more than 3,800 frequently-asked questions on our website, which are read over 7 million times each month. Some of the articles have been translated into 150 languages. Many books present teaching in a question-and-answer format, but few have delved into the questions that people are actually asking. Having received and answered more than 380,000 questions, Got Questions Ministries has a unique understanding of what questions are truly on people’s minds.
Statistical Methods are widely used in Medical, Biological, Clinical, Business and Engineering field. The data which form the basis for the statistical methods helps us to take scientific and informed decisions. Statistical methods deal with the collection, compilation, analysis and making inference from the data. The book mainly focuses on non-parametric aspects of Statistical methods. Non parametric methods or tests are used when the assumption about the distribution of the variables in the data set is not known or does not follow normal distribution assumption. Non parametric methods are useful to deal with ordered categorical data. When the sample size is large, statistical tests are robust due to the central limit theorem property. When sample size is small one need to use non-parametric tests. Compared to parametric tests, non-parametric tests are less powerful i.e. if we fail to reject the null hypothesis even if it is false. When the data set involves ranks or measured in ordinal scale then non-parametric tests are useful and easy to construct than parametric tests. The book uses open source R statistical software to carry out different non-parametric statistical methods with sample datasets.

The Death of Death in the Death of Christ is John Owen's definitive work on the extent of the atonement. It is a polemical work, designed to show among other things that the doctrine of universal redemption is unscriptural and destructive of the gospel. It was called forth by the progress in England of Arminianism and the half-way house of Amyraldianism adopted by Baxter, Davenant and Usher.
Most of us know we OUGHT to pray, but many seem uncertain as to HOW, WHEN, and WHERE to pray. This book is the classic Christian answer to these vital questions. Believing that many prayers are not answered because they are not intelligently offered, Dr. Torrey examines the MOODS, the METHODS and the MEANINGS of prayer. He considers all the problems and questioning of the sincere seeker, and in answer to them offers an outline for effective praying that is as positive as it is beautiful and inspirational. The gentle art of prayer, within these pages, is put within the reach of the least of us. To read it is a mountain-top experience of communion with a loving, ANSWERING God. ""YOU HAVE NOT BECAUSE YOU ASK NOT""...

Part of a series of specialized guides on System Center, this book is specifically designed for architects and cloud fabric administrators who want to understand what decisions to make during the design process and the implications of those decisions, what constitutes best practice, and, ultimately, what to do to build out a virtualized network solution that meets today's business requirements while also providing a platform for future growth and expansion. This second edition includes coverage of the Hyper-V Network Virtualization gateway, designing a solution that extends an on-premises virtualized network solution to an external (hosted) environment, details of how to troubleshoot and diagnose some of the key connectivity challenges, and a look at the Cloud Platform System (CPS) and some of the key considerations that went into designing and building the network architecture and solution for that environment.
The captain class" draws on a lifetime of sports spectatorship and two decades of sports reporting to tell the surprising story of what makes teams exceptional. Sam Walker had been searching for the sporting holy grail, a unifying theory of what makes teams win when he discovered certain similarities in cases of sustained greatness in teams across a number of sports. They were all lead by a certain type of captain, but not one with the characteristics you might expect. They were unorthodox outliers - disagreeable, marginally skilled, hot-headed, occasionally unhinged, athletically sub-par, poor verbal communicators, while off the field they were private loners who avoided the limelight
