(Mark 16:15-20) In the Christian nation’s correlation of these two pieces of the past, a powerful and primarily carnal portion of the Christian nation has declared that they are a modern empire. In the same mold as the ancient Roman Empire, the Christian empire has many kingdoms that are under its umbrella. It is also similar to the collection of nations that was under the dominion of king Nebuchadnezzar, in the ancient day. We need to understand that we are a part of the New Age Kingdom of God's expression in the earth. This book is a step in providing that understanding.

Although covenant is a major theme in Hebrews, Morrison contends all mention of covenant can be deleted without damaging the coherence of the epistle or its christological conclusions. What role, then, does the covenant motif have in the epistle? The arguments in Hebrews are aimed at a Jewish audience--they ignore the needs and religious options relevant to Gentiles. For the readers, the Sinai covenant was the only relevant conceptual competitor to Christ. First-century Jews looked to the Abrahamic and Mosaic covenants as the basis of their obligations to God and God's promises toward them. Although most Jewish writers merged these covenants as if they were one, the author of Hebrews does not--he retains the Abrahamic promises while arguing that the Mosaic covenant is obsolete. The covenant concept supports the exhortations of Hebrews in two ways: 1) it provides the link between priesthood, worship rituals, and other laws, and 2) it enables the author to argue for allegiance to the community as allegiance to Christ.

Once the base is built he falls in love with a NASA Architect/ Structural engineer Sophia. A Russian spy blows up the Blues locked enclosures and allows some to escape. They are recaptured and use telepathy on Mac to show him their plight and the impending arrival of a second craft. Sophia is killed by the second craft, which was sent to kill the Blues. The base is eventually leveled in the ensuing battle. Mac loses it and is carried away by a fleet of army gunships, while lying next to Sophia’s lifeless body.

Duane Radford and his friends from childhood reminisce about growing up in Crowsnest Pass, Alberta (lovingly called “the Pass”), when the area’s coal mines were active. Set on the edge of the Canadian Rockies, in southwestern Alberta, the Pass includes the small towns of Bellevue, Hillcrest, Frank, Blairmore, and Coleman—all along Highway 3. In the 1950s, the Pass was a hard place for people to make a living and most faced adversity, relying on their own resourcefulness to survive. The community itself was largely made up of immigrants from many different countries, some of whom were escaping their war-torn homelands. Despite the hardships of working in the mines, the Pass offered an idyllic lifestyle—one of outdoor adventures, clubs, social engagements, and excursions—built around a strong sense of community. Though several people have contributed stories to the book, it is largely narrated by Duane as he follows his family’s arrival to Bellevue after World War II, and his experiences living there until 1963, when his family moved to Calgary, Alberta. With not much written about the area, Coal Town Kids is the first substantive nonfiction account dealing with the Pass since 1952.
