The importance of Software Engineering is well known in various engineering fields. Overwhelming response to my books on various subjects inspired me to write this book. The book is structured to cover the key aspects of the subject Software Engineering. This book provides logical method of explaining various complicated concepts and stepwise methods to explain the important topics. Each chapter is well supported with necessary illustrations, practical examples and solved problems. All the chapters in the book are arranged in a proper sequence that permits each topic to build upon earlier studies. All care has been taken to make students comfortable in understanding the basic concepts of the student. Some of the books cover the topics in great depth and detail while others cover only the most important topics. Obviously no single book on this subject can meet everyone’s needs, but many lie to either end of spectrum to be really helpful. At the low end there are the superficial ones that leave the readers confused or unsatisfied. Those at the high end cover the subject with such thoroughness as to be overwhelming. The present edition is primarily intended to serve the need to students preparing for B. Tech, M. Tech and MCA courses. This book is an outgrowth of our teaching experience. In our academic interaction with teachers and students, we found that they face considerable difficulties in using the available books in this growing academic discipline. The authors simply presented the subjects matter in their own style and make the subject easier by giving a number of questions and summary given at the end of the chapter.

Mahatma Gandhi’s visit to Champaran synchronized with the great push given to the Home Rule Movement by that great and indefatigable worker in the cause of Indian uplift. Throughout the country; a large number of workers were going about delivering lectures and rousing and organizing the people. Bihar too had its share of political agitation. We used to read reports in the papers how many of our friends and coworkers in other districts were busy going about holding meetings and delivering lectures; and sometimes felt tempted to follow the same course in Champaran also. But Mahatmaji had sealed his own as well as our lips and we were not permitted to deliver public speeches either on the Champaran situation or in connection with the Home Rule Movement. He used to tell us that by our very silence we were doing the highest kind of Home Rule work. Mahatma Gandhi has often said that the people of Bihar are simple and instantaneously expressed their faith in him and in his method by their action on the very first contact they had with him. He transformed the Province by his short stay of a few months in 191718 and the occasional tours which he undertook in later years. —From this book An account of Mahatma Gandhi stay in Bihar by former President Dr. Rajendra Prasad which would infuse enthusiasm in the readers. This book, written during the pandemic, is the brainchild of the author, based primarily on the Kashmiri sayings the elders used to quote and intersperse during their day-to-day conversations. Such special sayings, the proverbs, are gems of wisdom that give advice about life. Proverbs do reflect and demonstrate national events, social customs and vices, and are found in all languages and societies alike. As rightly said by a Panamanian, “Proverb is to speech what salt is to food.” Generations have passed, but those proverbs are relevant even today. These proverbs, handed over through word of mouth, might slowly dwindle and vanish from our lives as our future generations are bound to distance themselves from the use of Kashmiri language due to circumstances created by the design, compulsion or choice. This concern prompted me to document these proverbs. The compilation has 101 Kashmiri proverbs in English, Urdu and Hindi, to ensure better reach. The meaning of each word is annexed with an elaborate description, interpretation and usage with illustrative examples, wherever possible. These proverbs are hoped to invoke interesting memories in Kashmiris, in particular and a positive reception from other regions as well, by recapitulating similar proverbs in their own languages.

National Security at its simplest means the nation’s control of its borders and the preservation of its territorial integrity including its airspace and territorial waters. Above all, it means the protection of national institutions of governance and the freedom of the people without subversion, infiltration and disruption. On the other hand, there can be no real national security without international security. Diplomacy is an instrument of establishing and maintaining the equilibrium of national and international security. Both diplomacy and national security have their roots in the conceptual scheme and operational aspects of sovereignty, which is the hallmark of States. National security and diplomacy are inextricably interwoven. Indeed defence and diplomacy, the diplomat and the soldier have much in common except that their battle-lines and locations, their target areas, their weapons and equipment and their strategies and tactics are distinct and are tackled differently. Diplomacy is the defence of one’s country and its interests beyond its frontiers, but in a sense, diplomacy only an extension of national security. The intelligence network of the country both within the country and overseas plays a vital role in both in diplomacy and for national security.
Waste management is a global problem that continues to increase with rapid industrialization, population growth, and economic development. As the world hurtles towards the urban future, the amount of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) is growing very fast. Waste includes any solid material or material that is suspended dissolved or transported in water or deposited on land. Wastes are generally classified into solid, liquid, & gaseous and are broadly classified as household waste; municipal waste; commercial and non-hazardous industrial wastes; e- waste, hazardous (toxic) industrial wastes; construction and demolition waste; health care wastes – waste generated in health care facilities (e.g. hospitals, medical research facilities); human and animal wastes; and incinerator wastes. In the recent years, modern society has become more responsible when it comes to waste management. The fast industrialization, urbanization, modern technology, and rapidly growing population in India have posed a serious challenge to the waste management. In India, per capita generation rate of municipal solid waste ranges from 0.2 to 0.5 kg/day. At present, the daily generation rate in South Asia, East Asia and the Pacific combined is approximately 1.0 million tons per day. The current scenario reveals that there is a tremendous scope for the development of waste treatment technologies and is expected to offer significant opportunities in the near future. Sustainability of waste management is the key for providing an effective service that can satisfy the need of end users. Solid Waste Management sector in India has become a very lucrative sector for investors. With a growing urgency for efficient waste management in many cities, there will be more and more employment opportunities in the sector. The participation of different sectors, roll of Government and private organization is important for better management of waste. This book describes the various waste treatment technologies like; Physical treatment techniques, biological treatment techniques, anaerobic lagoon techniques etc. It will be a standard reference book for professionals, entrepreneurs, students, teachers, researchers, administrators, and planners of various disciplines who are directly or indirectly involved in the waste management.
Education is a very common ad globally widespread term and in one way or other appears to be as old as mankind, though during the time, its concept, meaning, objectives and modes of delivery have inevitably remained in a constant flux. As a student of education, and as a prospective teacher, it is vital for us to understand the nature, meaning and concept of education and different perspectives that have shaped its context from time to time. Understanding the meaning and concept of education will help us to develop insights about the various processes of education. Education is considered both a field of knowledge and an area of operation. As a field of knowledge, it deals with a number of concepts, ideas, principles and thoughts which are educative in nature. On another side, education is a field of practice. Educational practices occur in different environments, namely formal, non-formal and informal environments. Education operates in a wide spectrum of situations both at macro and micro levels.
