The NHS is a wonderful institution. It largely provides what its founders intended: medical care for all from cradle to grave, free at the point of use and funded by general taxation. Nevertheless, it’s not perfect. Scandals at the Bristol Children’s Heart Unit and, more recently, at Stafford General Hospital, Furness General Hospital and Heart of England Foundation Trust, have shaken public confidence. Abysmal care and, worse, the cover-up of patient harm and avoidable death, have come to light. It is against this background that I offer my own story. I was one of those doctors who spoke up for patients and suffered the consequences…' The scandals of poor care and repeated cover-ups in the NHS in recent years have raised serious questions about the mistreatment of NHS whistleblowers. This book is autobiographical and offers the first detailed account of the ruin of a highly competent senior doctor who blew the whistle. Dr David Drew was a NHS consultant at Walsall Manor Hospital for over 19 years, including 7 spent as head of the paediatric department, before ongoing concerns over the state of poor care led him to become a whistleblower. This put him on a collision course with senior NHS hospital managers. Removed as head of department, he was suspended on trumped up charges, faced allegations of mental illness and disciplinary action and was dismissed for Gross Misconduct and Insubordination. David’s eye-opening account gives a unique insight into the NHS procedures that are used to dispose of senior management’s critics – at the cost of patient care.

For over three decades Michael Nyman's music has succeeded in reaching beyond the small community of contemporary music aficionados to a much wider range of listeners. An important element in unlocking the key to Nyman's success lies in his writings about music, which preoccupied him for over a decade from the late 1960s to the early 1980s. During this time Nyman produced over 100 articles, covering almost every conceivable musical style and genre - from the Early Music revival and the West's interest in 'world' music, or from John Cage and minimalism to rock and pop. Nyman initiated a number of landmark moments in the course of late twentieth-century music along the way: he was one of the first to critique the distinction between the European avant-garde and the American experimental movement; he was the first to coin the term 'minimalism' in relation to the music of (then largely unknown) Steve Reich and Terry Riley, and later Philip Glass; the first to seriously engage with the music of the English experimental tradition and the importance of Cornelius Cardew, and to identify the importance of Art Colleges in nurturing and developing a radical alternative to modernism; and one of the first writers to grasp the significance of post-minimalists such as Brian Eno and Harold Budd, and to realize how these elements could be brought together into a new aesthetic vision for his own creative endeavours, which was formulated during the late 1970s and early 80s. Much of what transformed and defined Nyman's musical character may be found within the pages of this volume of his writings, comprehensively edited and annotated for the first time, and including previously unpublished material from Nyman's second interview with Steve Reich in 1976. There is also much here to engage the minds of those who are interested in pre-twentieth century music, from Early and Baroque music (Handel and Purcell in particular) to innovative features in Haydn, spatial elements in Berlioz, or Bruckner and Mahler's symphonic works.

It is not that Americans do not know where the local churches are located, and what Jesus Bride, the Judea-Christian Church was established by Him to be the Salt of the earth, that is seasoning power to encourage godly living, for this was demonstrated in living colors during 9-11-2000 during a vicious attack on our nation by our sworn enemy radical Islam; for three months the local Judea-Christian churches were capacity filled ever Sunday morning for regular worship services. Criminal activity inside and outside the correction systems was reframed, but as soon as it was realized that America was not going to be destroyed in the foreseeable future, you guessed it, we returned to our corrupt and criminal conduct. As I travel our nation, I visit local Christian churches and here the men and women preaching from behind the pulpit, but the messages being preached are not at all in many instances the message God has ordained for the healing our nation. What, Why, When, Where, and How did we allow false preaching to become acceptable from behind Gods consecrated pulpit in the Judea-Christian Church? The results are NO JESUS CHRIST, NO CHRISTIAN CHURCH; NO CHRITIAN CHURCH, NO OBLIGATION TO GOD. The Judea-Christian communities have began to ignore the Holy Bible, Gods inerrant Word, and is replaced with entertainment instead of worship and praise unto God, and the Word o God has been watered down to meet the standards of the world. It is imperative that the pulpit in the Judea-Christian Church return to preaching the gospel as God has ordained, for only the Word of God can change the heart-mind of men, women, boys, and girls from the flesh desires to the desires of the Holy Spirit.

The book of Psalms served as Israel’s songbook. The apostle Paul, in his letters to the Ephesians and Colossians, wrote of the importance and use of the psalms in our worship. It is also a part of the rule of faith and practice in the church today. The psalms are God’s inspired hymnbook. Paul’s admonition to the church concerning the psalms is to teach and admonish one another in psalms. The book of Psalms in the Hebrew text is called Book of Praises. The Greek word psalmoi means “songs sung with musical instruments.” The psalms are sacred music at its best. They reveal much about their writers, the times, the people, and above all, the glories of Jehovah and the coming Messiah. It is generally believed that Ezra gathered these 150 psalms together into one book during the fifth century before Christ. The actual dates of their writing cover a period of almost 1000 years. David is often referred to as the psalmist, having written 73 of the psalms. Forty-six are anonymous as to the human writer. Various writers including Moses, Asaph, Solomon, Heman, and the sons of Korah wrote the remaining 31. The book of Psalms has long been a favorite among the Lord’s people. The writers of the New Testament made 283 direct quotes from the Old Testament and 116 of these are from the Psalms. The Psalms are an excellent source book for the saints of God. There seems to be a related song for every situation we may face in everyday life. The Messianic Psalms span the years of time from the birth of the Messiah, His earthly ministry, and His glorious return at the second coming. May the Lord richly bless the reader as they prayerfully study this wonderful portion of God’s Word.
