All pebbles are unique. No two are alike. Some are big, and some are small. Just as each of us, we are unique. As we walk through life, the pond sends ripples out to the world when the pebbles are tossed into the water. Some make beautiful ripples, and others just drop into the pond. May these stories encourage you and help you handle the pebbles in your life as you walk through this world with joy and anticipation, knowing that God has a plan for you and will make a way for you if you will let him.
YUP! That's God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Three books complete the Trilogy of the Trinity. Father God has shown us who He is, just by His creation. The life of Jesus Christ shows us how to live and share His story of salvation and eternal life. The Holy Spirit comes to believers on earth since the resurrection of Jesus opened a door for all. When we accept Jesus as our Savior and Lord, and ask Him for forgiveness of sin, then the Holy Spirit comes and dwells in our lives, teaching us through the Word of God, how to become whatever God has for us. Rejoice and be glad! Give the glory unto the Lord! Galatians 5:22-25, tells you how to live a radiant life. Live for Christ. Enjoy reading this paraphrased story of the Apostle Paul from the New Testament Book of ACTS.
Living life on the edge, having incredible experiences, meeting new friends, learning a new language and culture, spending time in many different countries around the world, coming alongside missionaries on the front lines for Christ, digging ditches, painting walls, teaching children, loving them all for Jesusthese stories give you a glimpse of how anyone, at any age, can help others in many ways to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world. Its about letting people know that God loves them. He always has; he always will.
This book is a paraphrased chronological story of JESUS, our Savior, and our Redeemer. Having read several versions of the 4 gospels, (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John), each had written their stories about JESUS in their own unique ways. Our story of JESUS uses the intertwined stories from the 4 gospels to give understanding about the life of JESUS from birth to His ascension. May God bless you as you read carefully and tenderly about the life of our JESUS. By writing, reading, and praying, we grew closer to knowing our precious Lord. Matthew; Jesus as the King and Messiah, written to the Jews. Mark; Jesus as the servant, written to the Romans. Luke; Jesus as the Son of Man, written to the Gentiles. John; Jesus as the Son of God, written to everyone.
This book shares stories of our life experiences. The Fruit of the Spirit within us as Christ followers, show how God uses the Fruit of the Spirit through all our walks of life. In each experience that we encounter, we see God at work in it and we just can’t help but say, “YUP! THAT’S GOD!” His timing is always perfect. We share these experiences of our life in hopes that you see the importance of following the Holy Spirit of God in all the walks of your life. We pray that God will bless you as you read this book. “Little is much when God is in it.”
In 2004-07, when we wrote a journal sharing our missionary experiences in Bolivia, we now decided to rewrite the journals into a book for those who love children and travel. We taught school there for three years, therefore, we have written three sections PART 1, PART 2, and PART 3, One part for each year. UNEXPECTED BLESSINGS FROM GOD is true, powerful and fun to read. Some students we taught, are missionaries now throughout the world. What a joy it is to help them financially because of the books we have written, from donations we receive. Enjoy the journals!

After writing our first two books (Never Too Old to Serve the Lord [ISBN 978-1-5434-4175-8] and Still Never Too Old to Serve the Lord [ISBN 978-1-5434-6437-5]), we thought that you would be interested in knowing how we prepared for our life as missionaries to people around the world. Within this book, you will read about the joy, sorrow, struggles, and blessings that we experienced through our preparation years prior to our first mission trip in 1993. We want to share these milestones that prepared us for desiring mission work the rest of our lives.
Since writing our last book, Unexpected Blessings from God, we decided to share blogs on our website, https://dmhovda.myfreesites.net/. We share thoughts and blessings via blogs and photos of our journeys. Many have expressed thanks in their responses to these blogs while they get updates on our ministries. Some of those blogs are included in this book for your reading enjoyment.
This is a story about being around the world in fifty-eight daysmany countries, many cultures, many new friends. This is about unexpected opportunities to teach, to counsel, to sing duets, to speak in unusual places using a translator, and more, sharing that God loves you. He always has, and he always will. We were overwhelmed with love and hospitality every place we went. God continually filled our days with unexpected surprises. Would we travel around the world again? In a heartbeat!
