It was a dangerous mission in a hostile land with no promise of the dawn. Working alone, he would attempt to take down the organization responsible for his friends misfortune and eliminate the man at the top whose sole function was to enforce the new regimes strict laws and to eliminate any dissidents who opposed the ruling autocracy. In every era of history there have been Paladins, men and woman who were not content to simply ride the crest of the wave, instead they choose to swim against the tide. And yes, such heros still do exist, even in the 21st century.

The Roman Empire, Druids, Feudalism, the Thirty Years' War, sailing the Atlantic, wagon trains, Indians and the Revolutionary War are all mentioned. The book begins with Titus and Hannah's ancestors caught up in 69 AD in a war with Rome. It concludes with one of their ancestors serving in the military in Iraq. And in between, there are many wonderful adventures and surprises. Read and enjoy.

Significant attention was focused on Gerhard Smid as he prosecuted the defendants and skillfully introduced trial tactics dealing with issues of capital punishment.

Decision making pervades every aspect of life: people make hundreds of decisions every day. The vast majority of these are trivial and without a right or wrong answer. In some respects there is also nothing extraordinary about pilot decision making. It is only the setting that is different - the underlying cognitive processes are just the same. Decisions on the flight deck are often made with incomplete information and while under time pressure. The implications for inadequate performance is much more serious than in many other professions. Poor decisions are implicated in over half of all aviation accidents. This volume contains key papers published over the last 25 years providing an overview of the major paradigms by which aeronautical decision making has been investigated. Furthermore, decision making does not occur in isolation. It is a joint function of the flight tasks; knowledge; equipment on the flight deck and other stressors. In April, May and June 1944, there were three major areas of naval conflict: In New Guinea: United States (US) and Australian forces landed at Aitape and Hollandia, then at Arare, Wakde and Biak Island. In Europe: The battle for the control of the English Channel heated up. The German navy attacked what they thought was an Allied convoy along the English southwestern coast. They had actually stumbled upon Operation TIGER, the Allied training exercise for the upcoming Normandy landing. RAF Bomber Command mined Biscay, Bretagne, La Pallice, Lorient, Brest, Cherbourg, Le Havre, Den Helder, Texel, the Friesian Islands, the German Bay, Kattegat, Kiel, Swinemünde, Gotenhafen, and Pillau. The Allies initiated Operation NEPTUNE to conceal the real Allied landing location from the Germans. All this culminated in the Allied landing in Normandy, France, in Operation OVERLORD. In the Pacific: The US landed on Saipan, considered Japanese territory, in Operation FORAGER, which caused the Battle of the Philippine Sea.
