The purpose for writing this book is to let people know no matter what they have gone through, there is hope and a light at the end of the tunnel. I would have lost all hope many times in my life, but something inside of me said someday my life will be happy. My latter days will be greater than the former. I held on to that belief. With God all things are possible to them who believe! You'll get there if you don't give up! My heart no longer aches because of the things that have happened to me. The hurt, rejection, bitterness, and anger are all gone. I have been restored. I can now believe that God can love me, and I receive His love. He has brought me into a deep, intimate relationship with the person of Jesus. I pray you rise higher and overcome every obstacle in your life, and that He help you to forget your trouble.

Stead's novels have gained growing readership and critical attention in recent years. This feminist reading of the life and work of Christina Stead focuses on her characters and themes that question established assumptions about gender and class relations and the aesthetic values they support.
Diana Souhami’s Lambda Award–winning biography is a fascinating look at one of the twentieth century’s most intriguing lesbian literary figures. Born in 1880, Marguerite Radclyffe-Hall was a young unwanted child when her parents put an end to their tempestuous marriage by filing for divorce. She had already made tentative forays into lesbian love when her father died, leaving her an heiress at eighteen. Her income assured, Hall moved out of her mother’s house, renamed herself John in honor of her great-great-grandfather, and divided her time among hunting, traveling, and pursuing women. She began to write—songs, poetry, prose, and short stories—and achieved success as a novelist, but it was with the publication of The Well of Loneliness in 1928 that Radclyffe Hall became an internationally known figure. Dubbed the “bible of lesbianism,” the book caused a scandal on both sides of the Atlantic. Though moralistic in tone, because of its subject matter it was tried as obscene in America and in the United Kingdom, where it was censored under the Obscene Publications Act. The Trials of Radclyffe Hall is a fascinating, no-holds-barred account of the life of this controversial woman, including her torrid relationship with the married artist Una Troubridge, who was Hall’s devoted partner for twenty-eight years.
Engaging with pre-feminist and male-authored crime literature, Resisting Invisibility offers a comparative reading of women’s bodies as represented in Spanish crime literature from the mid-nineteenth century to the present. Utilizing the twin concepts of visibility and invisibility, the book establishes a genealogy of differing viewpoints regarding women’s positions in these narratives, before and after the birth of the modern Spanish female detective. This examination of the politics of female visibility expands our understanding of the aesthetic regimes that have governed the female body from the early phases of the genre’s evolution. While most scholars understand the feminization of the crime genre as a response to second-wave feminism, Resisting Invisibility demonstrates that even in the earliest representations of delinquent women, the politics surrounding the female body are problematized and are more complex than previously conceptualized. Drawing on gender and queer studies, Resisting Invisibility investigates the gendering of crime fiction, forcing us to reconsider the literary history of female visibility and prompting us to establish an alternative genealogy for Spanish crime literature.

A synthesis of cultural, business, gender and intellectual history, exploring how the negative image of America's petrol industry was created. It shows how this image helped shape policy toward the industry in ways that were sometimes at odds with the goals or reformers and the public interest.
