The book of 2 Chronicles details the reigns of the kings of Judah and Israel from Solomon to the Babylonian captivity. There were quite a few good kings of Judah, although several evil kings of Judah in the line of succession provoked the Lord to anger. Good kings destroyed idols, groves, and heathen gods, and took away the high places of worship throughout the cities and the land. Evil kings set up new idols, groves, and heathen gods, worshipped them in high places, and even brought idolatrous practices into the House of God in Jerusalem. These histories teach us about man's relationship to God as they function as a mirror through which we can gain insights into life in society today! Little has changed in the millennia between then and now! Society has been on a slow decline away from the Lord for all of that time!

In a classic fight for his soul Cane takes on the Devil both here on earth and out into the far reaches of the Galaxy. When the quest is over Cane and his team are rewarded with their own planet much like Adam and Eve. Before Cane and Luna can begin a normal life, Lucifer's wife clones the Devil and they search for Cane, while destroying planets in their quest. Cane becomes a solider of God, in an effort to save not only Earth but the Universe.

When night took hold would he stand in awe at those bodies forever beyond his touch? The trunk was far wider than he was tall, black and shining, gnarled, at first glance it reminded him of an ancient yew with many trunks intertwined as one, like wide ropes, knots and boles, a parody of a tree with no leaves or needles but an array of small bones, none of its branches swayed in the breeze. It stood brooding, motionless like no other tree he had ever seen. Its trunk formed of faces screaming to be free, arms and legs entwined with bodies. Locked together for eternity, its main branches composed of long bones fused as one, branching off into smaller versions of themselves a grotesque mockery of natural trees, ending in bud-like structures of knuckles, small bones and teeth looking much like fruit and flowers. Prydain stood eighty feet tall, it's all-encompassing branches appeared just as wide casting a bone-chilling shadow across the snow. Almund took a deep breath as he stepped back, slipping on a half-buried pile of bones that crunched beneath his boot. At first glance, Prydain looked as though conjured by some mad sorcerer, not grown from this good earth, but this was no trick, for all its deathly stillness he could feel its energy not formed by man but planted, its roots deep within the earth, abet many years ago in this rich soil for the veneration of Achren.

Widely regarded as major visible field monuments of the Iron Age, hillforts are central to an understanding of later prehistoric communities in Britain and Europe from the later Bronze Age. With such a range of variants represented, no single explanation of their function or social significance could satisfy all possible interpretations of their role. While they are conventionally viewed as defence settlements or regional centres controlled by a social elite, this role has been challenged in recent years, and instead hillforts are being considered primarily as expressions of social identity with strong ritual and cosmological associations. Current hillfort interpretations are in danger of reflecting contemporary social sensitivities more strongly than any recognizable Iron Age priorities, and the need for critical analysis of basic archaeological evidence is paramount. This book provides an interpretive narrative of the wars fought by Bulgaria against the Byzantine Empire for dominant control of the Balkan Peninsula during the early medieval era. Over a span of two centuries, from the early ninth through the early eleventh, and under the leadership of the Bulgarian rulers Krum, Simeon I, and Samuil, those conflicts evolved from simple confrontations for territorial possession into a life-or-death struggle for imperial precedence within the Orthodox world then emerging in Eastern Europe—a struggle that the Bulgarians ultimately lost. The primary focus is on Bulgaria, rather than Byzantium, and an effort is made to provide a historically reliable chronology of the assorted campaigns. The various belligerents’ military organizations, defensive technologies, armaments, and tactics are surveyed in an introduction to the main narrative. A prelude chapter sets the stage for the hegemonic conflict, which was divided into three distinct phases by interludes of relative peace between the contending parties, during which Bulgaria’s domestic, foreign, and cultural developments shaped the nature and conduct of the fighting in each successive phase.
