The early Christian church faced persecution from several different sources, primarily that of Judaistic sympathizers, such as Hellenistic Jews (Greek Jews) and the Roman Empire. This persecution gave rise to men and woman who would rather face death than deny Yahvahshua (whom we call Jesus). Many suffered excruciating death by burning, beheading, crucifixion, or as entertainment in the Roman Colosseum. There they were forced to fight trained and experienced gladiators or face starving wild animals. Few survived their first encounter. During this period of time, men, whose names have survived to this day, fearlessly preached and taught the Word of God, knowing at any moment they could be arrested for blasphemy against the emperor, the self-proclaimed god of Rome. Such a man was Polycarp. Little is known of Polycarp, however, that which is known spurs the imagination. More is recorded of his death than of his life. Gods Warriors is a story of Polycarp and Flavius, a young tribune in the Roman army whose first assignment is to squelch the riots allegedly perpetrated by Christians in Smyrna. His eventual contact with the Bishop of Smyrna changes his life to the extent that Rome places him on its list of traitorsa crime punishable by death.
The Power of the Almighty is the result of studying the Bible to discover the many ways the Power of God is both expressed and explained from the Creation of the heavens and earth to the creation of the New Heavens and New Earth. The same power that created the world is that used in the Person of Jesus Christ and the salvation He provides.
From Gods mouth to the hearts of his people - this is the function of the Bible and is the reason it is called the Word of God. The Bible applied to the heart by the Holy Spirit is the chief means by which men are built up and established in the faith, after their conversion. It is able to cleanse them, sanctify them, to instruct them in righteousness, and to furnish them thoroughly for all good works (2 Tim. 3:1617) (J. C. Ryle. After many years of anger against God, the author was wonderfully restored by the Lord to himself and laid the burden of this ministry on his heart. The motive for writing this book is threefold: Section One, The Fatherhood of God, is because of my burning desire to get to know my heavenly Father in a more personal way. In Section Two, I want to share thoughts on our Spiritual Adoption into the family of God. The reality that I have not only been Born Again by the grace of God, but also adopted as a son into His family, is most precious to me, and is the reason I can call Him Abba, Father. Section Three This My Son, is the story of my restitution to God after twenty-three years of prodigal living. The longsuffering and faithfulness of God is evidenced in no clearer way than in the manner in which the father welcomed home his prodigal son. By incorporating these three subjects under one heading is fulfilling a need in my life. I do not wish to leave the impression that to know God is merely an academic exerciseit is not. To love Him is to know Him, and to know Him is to love Him.

It can teach you everything you need to know, point out everything you need to believe, and explain everything you need to do. It can show you what you are - a sinner. It can show you what God is - perfectly holy. It can show you the great river of pardon, peace, and grace - Jesus Christ J.C. Warrior Monk is the story of Ayden, a young Saxon who is torn between his duty to God and his burning hatred for Normans, whom he goes out of his way to kill. Norman soldiers kill his family in a drunken ramapge on his home. He leaves his betrothed to travel to Jerusalem to fight with the Templars. Unbeknown to him, his betrothed follows him to the Holy Land where they establish a life together, working with homeless children and orphans, a work eventually supported by the King and Queen of Jerusalem.
The difference between one person and another, both now and then [in eternity], is relationship. While every person has a relationship with God [Creator and creation], a second relationship is the foundation of communion and fellowship with Him. The Bible speaks of this new relationship as a new creation, those who are in Christ. Prior to the new birth in Jesus Christ, sin has made it impossible for any person to commune with God. Peoples and tribes throughout the world have created their own gods with whom they attempt to communicate, but their attempts are futile unless they come to God through Jesus Christ.
Jesus gave answers to the temptations of Satan beginning with the declaration: "It is written." The Word of God is a storehouse of answers to combat the woes of this life. It is also a treasure chest of promises and hopes for the saints of God. It has a wealth of remedies for those who have no hope and for those trodden down with the terminal disease of sin. The Lord Jesus Christ said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (Jn. 14:6) Man desperately searches the world over in quest of youth, longer life, and happiness of life. Yet, right before his eyes is the very treasure map that unveils the well of living water springing up unto everlasting life and the fountain of eternal grace flowing from Immanuel's veins. Within its pages the Holy Comforter has written wondrous guides through the straight and narrow way that begins at the foot of the old rugged cross. He leads the seeker securely in hand over the lofty heights of pure truth; and when the weary traveler is faint with distressing thirst, the Spirit and Bride say, "Come drink of the water of life freely, and you shall find rest for your soul and life more abundantly." These single page lessons are set forth only as brief simple studies of various topics of the Scriptures. They are not designed as theological discourses, or the settling of doctrinal issues. These are mere glimpses through the windows of the Word of God. They are thought provokers, docks for launching out into the deep, and stimuli for discussion of the truths of the Holy Scriptures. They are purposely designed for church bulletins, devotions, and study starters.
The Battle of Hastings, fought in A.D. 1066, was, without question, the most important event in British history. The conquering of England by William, Duke of Normandy, changed the way the inhabitants of the Isle of Mist had lived since the Roman Armies left their shores 650 years previously in A.D. 410. Seeking the throne of England, which he believed was rightfully his, William stormed the south coast of England with an army consisting of Norman, French and Belgian forces. Following his victory over King Harold William was crowned King of England on Christmas Day, 1066. He appointed Odo, his half-brother, as his Bishop, not because he felt the need of religion or Gods help, but because he felt those who served him would be more faithful to his cause if God was on their side. The fictional side of this story revolves around a Saxon family who operated a sheep ranch in Senlac, a small yet important village about seven miles from Hastings. Bruce, a widower, raised a daughter and three sons, each one involved in the operation of the ranch. This close knit family is shattered when the invading Normans ravish their farm looking for food to feed their 10,000 man army.
