The beauty of anointed artUrban Fantasy or Miraculous Reality? Ascended Light Design was birthed to battle anarchist chaos led by evil demon-possessed people. They moved on in book two to discover, and destroy, a demon-infested sex trafficking ring run by that same group from Scotland. They were luring young Navajo women with promises of support and security so they can escape the horror of the rampant hopelessness in poverty-stricken areas of the Navajo Nation. This new tale starts with Eloy de Salas, a talented pansexual artist. His gallery is on Canyon Road in Santa Fe, considered one of the top fine art centers in the world. He's doing well, making a good living using focused debauchery as art. But then he sees a slogan for a gallery show that stops him in his tracks. His intellectual construct disintegrates before his eyes. What is he going to do now? He's told he can find the answers he seeks at Ascended Light. On the other hand is Haseya, one of the beautiful demon-possessed Navajo trophy wives. She was purchased by a political power monger in Santa Fe, who uses her for dispensing favors to lust-driven politicians to get laws passed for that evil group out of Scotland behind the whole mess. He has a prominent gallery on Canyon Road, simply as a money-maker. His multiple demons can let him know who the next fashionable artists are-well before the rest of the world is told. She asked for the demon and is completely controlled by hers. Hope is not an option for her. The Lord has plans for both of them, and they don't have a clue. But He has His ways. He snares Eloy with his own mind. Once Eloy is His, he leads him on a path resulting in strong intercession for Haseya. His whole world has been turned around, and now he has to befriend and pray for the most beautiful woman he has ever seen? What could go wrong with that? I mean, he's a righteous believer now, right?

Practical Font Design has built a niche for itself among graphic and Web designers who want to build their own fonts: especially with the first book. I learned a lot since I wrote that first book. This radically revised, updated, and expanded third edition combines the first two books. They are rearranged so they make a lot more sense and some brand new material is added. This is a quick introduction showing a workflow to build new fonts using FontLab 5. Fourteen fonts are developed in this book including an 8-font text family and a companion 4-font sans serif for headers. The techniques are simple and easy to understand. The results are completely under your control.
Jesus calls a young man by speaking to him out of the blue. His task is deliver people, to bring down demonic powers, and deliver Albuquerque from a massive spiritual assault. His only qualification is when Jesus asks, he says, "Yes, Lord.
The power of anointed artThis book is intense [realistic] spiritual warfare, using married couples supernaturally put together-often very quickly-to accomplish a work of the Lord that the church considers fantastic-that is, a contemporary fantastic tale taking place in the near future. Many of these marriages are between two badly damaged artists who need the support of a strong marriage to do what they do. So, the Lord introduces them and then very quickly tells each of them that they were designed for each other. Then, with their horrendous backgrounds, they get married [with strong intense mentoring in Biblical marriage for a week or two] in a matter of a couple weeks-to avoid falling into sin via the temptations of the flesh. But it's all about the work that Jesus wants to be done.Hildah is completely blown away by how much the Lord has changed her life since she met Him. Quite a change from when she was a suicidal widow, addicted to demonically driven porn. He delivered her from that, got her married to an amazing artist who creates, powerful anointed pencil paintings [a term he invented]. Then the Lord told the two of them to build a fortress in the Kingdom of God, placed smack in the middle of a tourist center which is Laodicean, at best. Truthfully? It's heathen. After a long wait, this is the first global expansion of Truth & Beauty. To Minnesota? It's a fun ride. This is the sleepy, little, river town in which David grew up in the 1950s. You think it's changed much? It certainly has-into a 21st century tourist attraction. What could go wrong with that? Truth & Beauty begins its global workA new stand-alone series: moves to Minnesota out of New MexicoI know, the people of Ascended Light have been talking about this for a long time. Truth & Beauty became the home for the global effort two books ago. But Jesus has always been about "go into all the world". But you don't need to know anything about that. All you need to know is that this is not a surprise. Well...Minnesota is. How will this all work out? After all, we have standards. That's the Minnesota mantra. However, the nature of creativity is to step outside of all of that. I mean standards would tell us that the King of kings couldn't possibly be born in a stable with all those smelly animals. I mean, really!? But with His usual aplomb, the Lord ignores all of that in favor of delivering people from the world and bringing them into His Kingdom, with a solid rebirth and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. And they are delightfully new creations. Like new creations everywhere, whatever the Lord asks they'll do. Are the decisions to obey difficult? Sometimes it seems that way, but once the obedience occurs the difficulty is gone. The worst one? "Show me all my sin, Lord." Once you've been through that, the rest is easy. Beginning from that baseline, the Lord works marvels-wondrous things. I mean, Jesus is the Creator. He knows how to do it well. He knows how to take care of His people. As I've said so many times before. It's who He is. He can't help himself.
This is the final edition of Practical Font Design using Fontlab Studio 5. It shares and demonstrates the latest, most efficient, basic font production workflow for single fonts and font families. David has spent over twenty years refining his font design techiques. This book does not offer a lot of intellectual design help. This is focused on - "How the heck do I do this?" and - "How can I quit spinning my wheels?" and - "Why is this taking me so much time?" These techniques will enable you to enjoy font design by letting you focus on the actual drawing of characters with a clear plan and a workflow which does not get in your way. More than that, these techniques will enable you to control the consistency so your font works as a whole. The book will teach you what a companion font is and how to design one. It will teach you an easy letterspacing technique which will allow you to simply control whether you are designing a text font or a display font. The book is a wealth of tips and techniques shared over the author's shoulder as you watch him develop his fonts. He's not teaching his method, but showing you how to develop your method of working. The book develops fourteen fonts in four font families, focused on book design. These Librum/Bream families are available at MyFonts.com, fonts.com, linotype.com, fontspring.com, and through his website: bergsland.org The book will change your life as a font designer.

Why do you want to use Fontographer? For the fun of it!When I received the opportunity to go back to my roots, and see what the new Fontographer was like, I was a little concerned. I had just spent nine years painfully teaching myself to letterspace by hand, to write OpenType features, and to become accustomed to the tool set of FontLab. Don't get me wrong, FontLab is a great program. There are still a few features of FontLab that, as a professional font designer, I cannot do without. But I was taken by surprise.Fontographer brought the fun back!It is still the same marvelous program with which I first learned to design fonts. The drawing interface is still clean, clear, and elegant. It still works the way I have learned to work over the past two decades of digital graphic design. I found pleasure in drawing again. Fontographer is a wonderful drawing experience. It has been a real joy to experience that again. After nearly a decade in FontLab, font design is fun again.
What is your worst fear about self publishing your book? The question most often asked is, "How can I sell my book?", or some variant of that general problem. For the believer, that misses the true point of the exercise. The questions need to be: What is the Lord's vision for my writing? Who are the sheep or non-believers upon whom He wants my focus? What is the result I am seeking from my book? What part does it play in my character development as a disciple of Jesus? For the Christian, this question has more issues than most because so much of the marketing advice is based on fleshly concerns and morally questionable actions. Believing self publishers have a different road to walk than the rest of the do it yourself publishing world. This book will guide you through the maze of advice. The author has nearly forty years experience in walking in the Spirit and being led by the Lord. In addition, he has over 45 years of experience with graphic design, typography, art direction, book design, and digital publishing. For him, desktop publishing has been a daily reality since 1991. This book will give you the book selling options and explain them to the place where you can make a decision about what the Lord wants you to do. The options are very different for writers of non-fiction and fiction. It makes a huge difference whether you are writing popular fiction in a huge market like romance, sic-fi, or mysteries or hard-hitting fiction in a techno-thriller. A bible-study or devotional needs a much different focus than is needed by a discipleship book for abused women. This book will enable you to sort out all of these issues. It's a preview, stand-alone portion of David's upcoming book called "Practical Self Publishing for Christians".
