It's very fashionable nowadays to assert that Christianity and science are antithetical, or that God has been ruled out of science or disproven (particularly by Darwinian evolution), or that science is based on reason and evidence, whereas religion (being faith-based) supposedly cares little or nothing for same, or that one cannot consistently be a Christian and also a real scientist. I shall contend that not only are science and Christianity completely compatible, but that modern science would not have even gotten off the ground if it hadn't been for medieval, scholastic, Catholic thought. I shall demonstrate that the foundations of modern science in the 16th century were overwhelmingly Christian and theistic. The notion that science and religion are fundamentally incompatible is ludicrous and would obliterate science at its very roots. Includes: mini-biographies of 293 scientists and a chart of 115 scientific fields of study founded or extraordinarily advanced by Christian or theistic scientists.

This book is basically a collection of poems on various subjects. This is not classic poetry. I frankly started out one night to write something in basic essay/paragraph format and while I had a lot going through my mind, I ended up jotting down a few notes, then at some point, I found that I was stringing those notes together, putting them in basic rhyme and my first writing turned into what I suppose can be considered a poem "For the People." I found this an interesting and convenient way to express thoughts on a variety of issues and from there, many followed; mainly that year and some more the following years. I don't know whether anyone will find interest in what I have written here. And, if so, I don't really know who. There are no real secrets or wisdom in this book; but, hopefully, some will enjoy it. The great majority of this book was written in 1993. I had gotten out of the Navy where I had been enlisted from Oct 1977 - Oct 1992. For the year 1993, I was basically able to take a year off without working. This material was only recently copyrighted, and none of it has been made public before now.

I attended my 55th high school reunion in July of 2012 and was inspired to write "Home Town Memories of Grinnell, Iowa." This work is not intended to be an all inclusive, comprehensive, scholarly history with a preoccupation for exact dates, etc. It is simply a personal history, my recollections of the old home town during a limited period in the town's history the 40's, 50's and 60's. I have written in my own way using a flow of words that came to me as I wrote. In a town of 8,000 9,000, as Grinnell was in those days - you eventually get to know and have some contact along the way with most people. My intent was to communicate in simple, straight forward terms and was not concerned about presenting it as "a triumph in English language grammar.
