It is also a story of how He revealed Himself to those whose lives were connected to the colt. It is a story of lives touched, prayers answered, and God's saving grace. A reflection of God using this colt to show His awesome presence in the daily life of two trainers, two jockeys, an owner, and myself. (What I was to this colt is still an unknown to me, yet the lessons I learned from this experience were, are, and always will be a blessing to me.)This is a story about a dark bay colt named Pluie's Stock by Pluie's Sylvester and about how God used him to uncover truths about Himself. Pluie is a plain but honest horse. He does not have a valuable pedigree, as you can see from his sire, a son of Verbatim. His breeding fame is linked to his dam, an unaccomplished daughter by Key to the Mint, the winner of the racing's hallowed Eclipse Award, American champion, three-year-old male (1972). Pluie, however, did not yet have racing credentials of significance himself. When he arrived in Texas, Pluie had a 0 for 6 race record, his best effort being a second-place finish going a mile.Racing in Faith is also a story about forgiveness and restoration when two friends, caught off guard from what was supposed to be a blessed event that turned into one of agony. He does so according to a uniform scheme, in order to facilitate their comparison. These 20 case studies allow him in a next part to test the correctness of the statements made in Part 2. In the fourth part, he compares the social security systems of the 20 small jurisdictions. He draws conclusions as to the main question, but also to test the validity of the current literature on the topic as described in Part 2. Special attention goes to the use of legal transplants for the definition of the personal scope of social security arrangements. With this, he opens up opportunities to exploit the body of knowledge developed in the multi-agent systems community to tackle some of the difficult challenges of modern-day software systems, such as decentralized control, location-awareness, self-adaption, and large-scale. Thus his book is of interest for both researchers and industrial software engineers who develop applications in areas such as distributed control systems and mobile applications where such requirements are of crucial importance.

Developing countries have recently proved reluctant to participate in sovereign debt moratoria and debt relief initiatives. We argue that debtors' (non-)participation decisions can be understood through the lens of real options. Eligible countries compare the net benefits of participating in a debt relief initiative now with the value of waiting to potentially execute their participation option later, when they may have more information on the benefits and costs. We corroborate the real option framing with anecdotal evidence and through a survival analysis that exploits cross-country and time variation in the requests to participate in the Debt Service Suspension Initiative (DSSI), which provided temporary debt moratoria during the COVID-19 pandemic. Structured along the policy levers suggested by the real option framework, we discuss a number of ways in which participation in debt relief initiatives can be made more attractive to debtor countries.

About Capitalism and Freedom This book formulates markets as chief proponents of personal freedoms and warns against the tyrannical force government can wield by intruding on economics. It describes the rise of capitalism occurring in tandem with the rise of freedom in general, and attempts to fight against what Milton Friedman saw as the expanding role of government in American and Western life after the second World War. BOOK EXCERPT From the Overall Summary: Friedman begins the book with a broad philosophical consideration of the relationship between free markets and free society, concluding that the two are inextricably and necessarily linked together. He traces his ideas to the European liberals of the eighteenth century, then describes the assault on these values through the first half of twentieth-century America. The liberal movement sparked a counter-movement among American intellectuals which sought increasing governmental control in the name of protecting the public, culminating in the New Deal. Friedman then goes on to argue that the role of government must be scaled back. Central planning, he says, will inevitably lead to violations of personal freedom. We need to agree on the laws, the "rules of the game", and the government must enforce those laws. Beyond that, it must sit back and let us play the game as we choose. Trade restrictions are burdensome, hurtful to the economy and a dangerous overreach of government. The most effective way to turn a market economy into an authoritarian one, says Friedman, is to the impose direct controls on foreign exchange; one step in that direction leads to further controls.
