Nevertheless, as designers we are interested in inflatables because they could be a cheap, fast and easy way to moke up real scale prototype oflivable spaces.
The selected projects presented in thisbooklet are mainly light, temporary, partecipatory, relational spatial devices. Their nature is between the installation and theperformance, the playground and the event.They are microtransformations amplifyingthe more controversial, banal and anonimousquality of the places in their relations withthe city. Each of the projects suggests a peculiarurban vision. For that reason there isn't acommon functional programme to respectbut an interpretation, a critical point of viewto be unfolded. In the Studio 2008 / 2009 we focused on the space underneath the so called Viadotto di Corso Francia crossing the Olimpic Village in Rome.

This book explores Italian science fiction from 1861, the year of Italy’s unification, to the present day, focusing on how this genre helped shape notions of Otherness and Normalness. In particular, Italian Science Fiction draws upon critical race studies, postcolonial theory, and feminist studies to explore how migration, colonialism, multiculturalism, and racism have been represented in genre film and literature. Topics include the role of science fiction in constructing a national identity; the representation and self-representation of “alien” immigrants in Italy; the creation of internal “Others,” such as southerners and Roma; the intersections of gender and race discrimination; and Italian science fiction’s transnational dialogue with foreign science fiction. The book offers a systematic reconstruction of the disagreement between Husserl and Heidegger from the former's perspective, but without falling into any form of Husserlian apologetics. The main thesis is that Husserl's critique of Heidegger's existential analytics as a form of philosophical anthropology entails a deeper fundamental thesis, namely that Heidegger confuses the object of first philosophy (the transcendental determination of the subject) with metaphysics (in the Husserlian sense of the expression). Understanding world politics today means acknowledging that the state is no longer the only actor in international relations. The interstate system is increasingly challenged by new transnational forces and institutions: multinational companies, cross-border coalitions of social interest groups, globally oriented media, and a growing number of international agencies. Though these phenomena have been discussed in the recent literature of international relations, little attention has been given to their impact on political life within and between communities. This book aims to explore the changing meaning of political community in a world of regional and global social and economic relations. The authors of the essays in this volume, who reflect a variety of academic disciplines, reconsider some of the key terms of political association, such as legitimacy, sovereignty, identity, and citizenship.
