There is value in getting back to the basics, and that is what Daniel McNab has done in his latest literary release, And If This Gospel. He has essentially expounded upon Christ’s declaration in John 5:39: “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.” One of the themes that the author covers is how remarkable and unique Jesus is, considering, if no other factor, the statistical “impossibility” of Him fulfilling hundreds of predictions uttered by dozens of prophets several centuries beforehand. He also prompts the readers to a level of sobriety by highlighting the short-sighted anti-example of Esau, urging everyone not to relinquish the prospects of eternal glory for the protein of temporal grub. With intense conviction, McNab has sought to increase everyone’s awareness of the critical times in which we live, the imminence of Christ’s return, and the contribution we can make in giving the rest of the world the gospel hope and hastening that great day. This volume will enhance the saints’ wistful yearning for their heavenly home.
Christians are to be salt and light to the world by the life they live. Yet, if like lot they become so comfortable with the customs and habits of the culture in which they find themselves, how then will they be able to lead those who seek Him to Jesus the "light of the world?
