Même s'il est capable d'opportunisme. On dira de lui que c'est un suiviste qui s'engage.Mentors et soutiens cachés facilitent l'ascension politique du héros. Les liens occultes et troublants qui les relient se font jour au fil du récit. D'abord, un ministre projette sur lui les désirs qu'il n'a pu assouvir. Les raisons des autres sont du ressort des fils invisibles et mystérieux unissant les êtres.
