Get a full understanding of lesbian mental health concerns! Mental Health Issues for Sexual Minority Women: Redefining Women's Mental Health presents much-needed research on sexual orientation and sexual minority populations missing from most mental health studies. This unique book identifies three areas of concern voiced in a 1999 Institute of Medicine report on lesbian health: whether lesbians are at a higher risk of mental health problems; the need for a better understanding of lesbian orientation and diversity in the lesbian population; and the need to eliminate barriers to mental health care services for lesbians. Mental Health Issues for Sexual Minority Women addresses those concerns with theoretical and empirical work that represents a broad range of disciplines and cultures. Mental Health Issues for Sexual Minority Women covers a unique and diverse range of topics missing from most books on lesbian health. The book includes original research on issues such as: body image and attitudes toward eating and dieting relationship satisfaction and conflicts substance use and sexual victimization risk factors for psychological distress among African-American lesbians and much more! This book enhances knowledge on Impounded Water Bodies (IWB) systems of the interested parties. They include academicians, scholars, scientist, researchers, engineers, undergraduate and postgraduate students. Specifically this book is valuable for everyone involved in water, hydrology, environment, civil engineering and other related disciplines. This book emphasized modelling and simulation of IWB particularly; Reservoir and Detention Pond, in relation to the two major hydrological problems; Flood and Water Pollution. The knowledge presented is useful for hydrological systems real phenomenon replication and prediction. This book also provides IWB general overview, in terms of the preliminary and state of the art analysis which may trigger the interest for further research and investigations. The IWB related factors were integrated to provide the quantitative framework, alternative approaches and valuable outcomes that lead to worthy policy establishment. This book covers topic related to nutrient (phosphorus) loadings estimation using the new version of Event-Based Stochastic Model in reservoir systems. The detention pond systems modelling using Analytical Probabilistic Models (APM) and the optimization of detention time using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) are elaborated. It is hoped that the book provides useful knowledge in pursuit of the IWB sustainable development. Technology is permanently transforming the banking industry, and digital payments are the key Electronic Payments, Mobile Commerce, and Virtual Banking: A Guide to Innovation, Partnering, and Regulation takes a hands-on approach to competing in the modern banking environment. Former PayPal Head of Financial Innovation Dan Schatt explores the reasons behind the massive consumer migration away from traditional banks, and provides clear, actionable guidance on beating new banking models at their own game. Digital payment is the hottest topic in banking today, and is set to define the future of the industry. Consumers are rapidly abandoning traditional banks in favor of institutions that are lower-cost and more consumer-centric. Between the pace of financial regulatory reform and the cloud computing revolution, the old banking model is on the fast track to extinction. Electronic Payments, Mobile Commerce, and Virtual Banking provides the information banks need to compete in this new environment, and details the integral implementation actions that will allow them to thrive. The book discusses real-world innovations from banks, non-banks, and up and comers, and the heavy competition from the new outsource bank model. Topics include: The changing POS landscape and the need for digital wallet partnerships Shifting gears to greenfield market opportunities versus non-profitable markets Digital channel best practices for superior customer experience When to outsource, and what capabilities to truly own Case studies including PayPal, Google, Square, Facebook, Twitter, and more illustrate acceleration of innovation through banking partnerships, as well as the mechanics behind banking's biggest, scariest threats. The trick to surviving the paradigm shift is to embody innovation while providing a superior customer proposition. Electronic Payments, Mobile Commerce, and Virtual Banking: A Guide to Innovation, Partnering, and Regulation provides the inside track on managing the shift and dominating the new marketplace.

A bottom-up approach that enables readers to master and apply the latest techniques in state estimation This book offers the best mathematical approaches to estimating the state of a general system. The author presents state estimation theory clearly and rigorously, providing the right amount of advanced material, recent research results, and references to enable the reader to apply state estimation techniques confidently across a variety of fields in science and engineering. While there are other textbooks that treat state estimation, this one offers special features and a unique perspective and pedagogical approach that speed learning: * Straightforward, bottom-up approach begins with basic concepts and then builds step by step to more advanced topics for a clear understanding of state estimation * Simple examples and problems that require only paper and pen to solve lead to an intuitive understanding of how theory works in practice * MATLAB(r)-based source code that corresponds to examples in the book, available on the author's Web site, enables readers to recreate results and experiment with other simulation setups and parameters Armed with a solid foundation in the basics, readers are presented with a careful treatment of advanced topics, including unscented filtering, high order nonlinear filtering, particle filtering, constrained state estimation, reduced order filtering, robust Kalman filtering, and mixed Kalman/H? filtering. Problems at the end of each chapter include both written exercises and computer exercises. Written exercises focus on improving the reader's understanding of theory and key concepts, whereas computer exercises help readers apply theory to problems similar to ones they are likely to encounter in industry. With its expert blend of theory and practice, coupled with its presentation of recent research results, Optimal State Estimation is strongly recommended for undergraduate and graduate-level courses in optimal control and state estimation theory. It also serves as a reference for engineers and science professionals across a wide array of industries.

Musicals of the 1990s felt the impact of key developments that forever changed the landscape of Broadway. While the onslaught of British imports slowed down, the so-called Disneyfication of Broadway began, a trend that continues today. Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King became long-running hits, followed by more family-friendly musicals. The decade was also distinguished by a new look at revivals—instead of slavishly reproducing old shows or updating them with campy values, Broadway saw a stream of fresh and sometimes provocative reinventions, including major productions of My Fair Lady, Damn Yankees, Carousel, Show Boat, and Chicago. In The Complete Book of 1990s Broadway Musicals, Dan Dietz examines in detail every musical that opened on Broadway during the 1990s. This book discusses the era’s major hits (Miss Saigon, Crazy for You, Rent), notorious flops (Shogun, Nick & Nora, The Red Shoes), controversial shows (Passion, The Capeman), and musicals that closed during their pre-Broadway tryouts (Annie 2: Miss Hannigan’s Revenge, Whistle Down the Wind). In addition to including every hit and flop that debuted during the decade, this book highlights revivals and personal-appearance revues with such performers as Sandra Bernhard, Michael Feinstein, Patti LuPone, Liza Minnelli, and Mandy Patinkin. Each entry contains the following information: Plot summary Cast members Names of all important personnel, including writers, composers, directors, choreographers, producers, and musical directors Opening and closing dates Number of performances Critical commentary Musical numbers and the performers who introduced the songs Production data, including information about tryouts Source material Tony awards and nominations Details about London and other foreign productions Besides separate entries for each production, the book offers numerous appendixes, including a discography, filmography, and published scripts, as well as lists of Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, black-themed shows, and Jewish-themed productions. A treasure trove of information, The Complete Book of 1990s Broadway Musicals provides a comprehensive view of each show. This significant resource will be of use to scholars, historians, and casual fans of one of the greatest decades in musical theatre history.
