Geethu, a young graphic designer, has to live a hard time in her workplace due to the constant abuse from a colleague named Sam. She wonders why Sam was bad to her alone. Later, she discovers that he has a narcissistic personality. At about the same time, the paranormal influence of narcissism also becomes a topic of discussion when Geethu finds an old letter from the colonial period in a library. She is soon joined by her near and dear ones, including her childhood sweetheart, Gopu, in the fight against Sam. Mirage of Imperfections deals with both psychological (authentic) and paranormal (fantasy) dimensions of narcissism – it conveys the message that people who are really good at heart can survive narcissistic abuse and become successful in life, no matter how hard the ordeal is.

Healthy men and women altogether constitutes wealthy mankind. The body of a woman is definitely very different from the body of a man as it has more duties to perform and greater weight to sustain. In fact, nature has given the woman's body a greater purpose to fulfill. A woman has to become a mother, and for that reason, nature has designed a special system for her. Men have more chances of going out, playing sports and games, and taking a morning or evening walk. Most women are completely tied to their household duties and remain in the same environment all the time. They do not get as much time or as many opportunities for exercise as men do. Moreover, the system of a man is less complicated than the system of a woman. Good health means that all organs of the body are working efficiently. The important proverb is, 'Health is wealth', 'if health is lost everything is lost', and is realized more in its absence than by its presence. Middle age is not a time of life it is a state of mind.
This is one of the many inspiring stories from the renowned “Motivator” Dr. G. Francis Xavier. Evidently, this harvest of stories has been gleaned from lands he visited and books he read. Xavier, who conducts full-house personal growth courses has brought out this compendium in an interactive form, making the reader give the answers at the end of the story which is a novel approach. Stories and examples are the best way to inspire, and this reasonably priced volume could be useful gifts for people. It is useful for preachers, speakers and teachers. The book appeals to readers of all ages except the morose and irredeemable negaholics (negative thinking addicts) and anti-reading teenagers. It has stories to inspire and promises uninterrupted chuckles till the end. There are also quotations on success.
In the earlier part of the last century, the princely state of Mysore and the University of Mysore bore witness to some truly remarkable personalities. These stalwarts and their lasting contributions left behind a lasting legacy on the intellectual landscape of Mysore and India on the whole. While there were many in their ilk, the author of this work began focusing on those who were primarily associated with the University, to begin with. These biographical pieces were written as feature articles in the ‘Star of Mysore’ newspaper. V. Seetharamaiah, T. V. Venkatachala Sastry, M. Hiriyanna, M. H. Krishna, S. Srikanta Sastri and Brijendranath Seal are among those featured here. These articles were well received by the reading public in Mysore. Incidentally, it was the centenarian lexicographer and litterateur G. Venkatasubbiah who suggested that these sketches be collected in one place as a book. This book is the realisation of such a dream. More than just a chronicle of academicians and writers, this book serves to encapsulate a glorious era in Mysore’s history, where genuine merit, scholarship and integrity meant more than base notions of caste, corruption and nepotism. A glimpse into those times only serves to highlight, rather disappointingly, the slow but inevitable demise of meritocracy in our social polity today
Female criminality and female offenders are the phenomena so rarely addressed by the fraternity of social science academia despite their being of immense social significance and important policy implications. Although all along neglected in social science circles as a phenomena of rare incidence and hence less crucial, of late there has been growing realization that female criminality and its outcome are of far greater consequences and could have more far reaching implications than crime by men and its negative fallout owing to roles of crucial functional significance being allocated to women by the society. Further, even the rarity of female criminality is gradually loosing ground with incidence of crime by women being on the rise.

The properties of sediment particles, transportation and their deposition in the sedimentary environments can be deciphered by the granumlometric studies, which also provide critical information regarding sedimentary provenance and depositional conditions. Many factors like currents and wave activities, offshore and onshore movements, transgression and regression of the sea levels, periodic storms, confluence of streams, rivulets and rivers into the oceans can influence the grain size in the depositional environments. Variations in the size of the grains reflect various earth surface processes viz., developmental processes of landforms. So, many researchers from all over the world carried out panoptic research and emphasized the significance of granulometric analysis to understand and to distinguish various depositional environments viz., estuarine, lacustrine, fluvial and marine etc., in particular in the coastal realms.
Precious Souls: A journey into the inspiring lives of special children and their families, is a first of its kind effort to understand the world of children with special needs and create awareness among people about their small requirements. There are 24 lives in the book and all are replete with grim determination -- so unlike us they are, but so courageously they live. Precious Souls calls for each reader to give nothing, but share all the love that they have whenever they see a special child. Equal share of your love, confidence and support should also go to their parents, who nurtured their special child, without losing hope. Even though they have seen surroundings with healthy children, when they look home, they have found a certain incompleteness, but they never lost courage, and fought the battle with destiny, emerging victorious. Their profoundness is worth ounces of admiration. The book explores disappointments and triumph in a narrative manner; the author telling each life as it went on during his interaction with the families. The style gets the reader involved as if he or she is seeing the child or their parents right in front of them. Late Dr A P J Abdul Kalam was so touched by the subject that he even wrote the foreword for the book. To give a glimpse of a few stories, the book narrates the life of ten-year-old Diwakar Bhaskar who is diagnosed with Maple Syrup Urine Disease (MSUD), a metabolic disorder passed down through families in which the body cannot break down certain parts of proteins. But he trounced his disorder and found his calling in painting, drawing works of art which has a rare balance of colour and sensitive strokes. An example is the logo of the Precious Souls, which the author has used to mark the immense talent in each of the special children featured in the book. Then there is thirty four-year-old S Sushmitha Danabalana, who had developmental delays compared to other children, when born. Now, she is independent and part of her salary goes to sponsoring the education of a differently-abled student. She has even won the Karnataka State Women's Achievement Award. The book tells the tale of 15-year-old Adithya Venkatesh, who suffers from from Pervasive Developmental Delay (PDD), a type of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) that slows down the ability to perceive things. But with classical music he has awed everybody and his penchant for music has been removing all barriers he faces on a daily basis. With these 24 lives, the author has managed to bring out the true essence of life - nobody is perfect, and in the pursuit of perfection, we all are on the same road. It is necessary of all of us to get together and encourage children with disabilities and lend support in the form of understanding their families. Together, we can bring a change in their lives, a message crystal clear through Precious Souls. The author, Dr Anantha Krishnan M, is a seasoned aerospace and defence journalist in India. A disciple of Dr Kalam, he is currently entrusted with the task of carrying forward a digital initiative of the former President, Billion Beats. He also spearheads Inspired Indian Foundation (IIF), a movement for unsung heroes. His first book A Different Spirit, is a moving biography of wheelchair athlete Malathi K Holla. Similar to his first book, the author has pledged part proceeds from the book for the activities of IIF.

The study laid emphasis on the different styles, the individual learns. It has been believed that most of the learners favor some particular method of learning, interacting, retaining, processing stimuli and finally retrieving. Hence, the learning styles have been considered as a psychological process. As the individual selects the appropriate learning styles, it ultimately influences the learners, problem solving skills, personality, cognitive, emotional and psychological characteristics. It has become very difficult for an individual to choose apt learning styles.
This study explores the reasons behind the different responses of the legal systems of Europe, Japan and the USA in coping with BSE, one of the major food safety crises in recent years. Making reference to the most recent advances on risk perception that cognitive and social sciences, such as legal anthropology and sociology of law, have experimented with, Risk Perception, Culture, and Legal Change examines the role that culture plays in moulding the process of legal change. Attention is focused on the regulative frameworks implemented to guarantee the safety of the food chain against the BSE menace and on the liability responses sketched to compensate the victims of mad cow disease, showing how both these elements have been influenced by the cultural context within which they are situated.
