Project Connect introduces a new way of working with youth at risk, and their families. Grounded in theoretical influences guiding practice, Project Connect combines Attachment Theory, Experiential Learning, Family Wilderness Therapy, and Trauma Informed Practice into a model of program delivery accessible to the social service professional. Wilderness provides opportunity for challenge, reflection, movement, and achievement that is less available in other settings. Youth and mentors participating in Project Connect are part of a unique and innovative program designed to build their capacity to connect with themselves and essential support systems in a more meaningful way cultivating lasting change.
