In this third Weasel and Big Benny Book, our hero detectives are handed a case of a murdered TV star. In an unusual situation, Weasel's sometime girlfriend who's a C.S,I. Gets the case for them and pleads for them to take it because she's done consultant work on the TV show and has met the star several times. It doesn't take long for the case not only be about a murder but a stolen Rolex watch and an expensive necklace hat belonged to the lead actress on the show. Little did the detectives know that the case would start a riff between them that causes Big Benny to get mad and take another case that endangers his life. He finds himself in an old mine shaft and stuck in a fifteen foot deep hole. Not only has Weasel got to solve the TV star's case he has to find Big Benny! Who killed the TV star and who put Big Benny in the deep abyss? Here's A Taste "See it?" the man asked. "See what? I don't see a thing." "Look close. Your headlights are pointed right at it." Benny peered and strained his eyes. Finally he saw a faint outline of an entrance. "An old abandoned mine," the man explained. "Let's go." "So you're going to kill me and leave me in there, huh?" "Don't be so dramatic. Be a good boy and you will come out of this all right." He took a small flashlight from his pocket, pointed out the path. Inside, the man had Benny walk a couple hundred feet on the rocky ground, playing the beam of his light right and left. "This is it," the man announced and pointed the light to a deep hole in the ground. "Okay, big man. Jump down in there." Benny peered into the abyss. "How far down does it go?" "Only twelve, fifteen feet. The jump won't kill you if that's what you're worried about." Benny hesitated. "I could break a leg." "Jump or I'll shoot and you'll fall in. Your choice, big fella." Benny jumped. Then he heard the man's feet crunch on the small rocks until the sound disappeared. He sat down with his back to the far side of the hole's wall.

The friend imparts that he has built a time travel machine but needs Doctor Mogumber's invention to supply the energy. Doctor Mogumber agrees to do it and he and Steve and Doctor Mogumber are off for the adventure of their lives. Story Three: In Pursuit of Doctor Jynn: The same madman that had the Earthquake Machine surfaces again. This time he has hacked into the Pentagon and has stolen military secrets. With the help of Doctor Mogumber and Aimee they track him to an uninhabited Asteroid. Just when Steve thinks he has the elusive Jynn, the mad scientist sets the self-destruct in his laboratory.
