Book Description Second Time Around This book depicts marriage disappointments and disillusions from a male prospective. Most men are fundamentally good and can resist the temptations of infidelity when given a choice. The challenges of dealing with a wife that constantly pushes them to the margin of her life can often be too much for some men to bear. As a young man right out of college, Norman, was assigned by his company to a territory in southern Pennsylvania. While living there Norman met Gail, an attractive middle-aged woman that was ten years his senior with a teenage daughter. Gail and Norman became inseparable and very much in love. Neither of them felt any pressure to get married. After six years Norman was promoted and had to transfer to another part of the country. Fearing that their age difference would cause their relationship to fade, Gail opted to stay in Pineville and they drifted apart. Many years later when their paths crossed again Gail realized that she was still in love with the man that she had considered her soul mate. However, Norman was now married with two kids and based in Seattle. His marriage is unstable and Gail soon realizes that there might be a second chance to have the man she has loved for nearly half her life. With his judgment clouded by the lack of attention from his wife Norman begins to feel that he might have chosen the wrong woman for his life partner.

The challenges of dealing with a wife that constantly pushes them to the margins of his life can often be too much for some men to bear. Norman found himself the object of desire for a beautiful young flight attendant. He had several encounters with her in different places. He even had lunch with her in his own hometown, but he didnt know the woman. His last encounter with her was in his hotel room late one night on a road trip to Phoenix. His wife found out that he had invited the woman into his hotel room. She accused him of cheating and threw him out of the house, but he insisted he was innocent. With divorce looming, the only way he could prove his innocence was to find her and have her confront his wife with the facts. He had no idea who she was, where she was from, or how to find her. He was desperate to find the mystery woman named Pricilla, who was the only person who could save his marriage.

Steve Winwood has been creating his own form of R&B genres for over 50 years, and is an international star. His music includes blues, folk, rock, funk, pop and most recently Latin rhythms. His immediately recognizable blue-eyed soulful voice makes him one of the greatest singers of our time. Winwood has been the bandleader of iconic groups including The Spencer Davis Group, Traffic, Blind Faith and an extensive solo career. Winwood is also an extremely talented Hammond B-3 organist, synthesizer keyboardist, and guitarist. His work as a session player helped him become a visionary engineer and producer, sometimes creating entire albums by himself. Author Chuck Sullivan explores Winwood's journey through first hand interviews with notable musicians, extensive research, and uses his personal experiences as a musician and producer to describe the remarkable career of this musical genius.
Humor has at least two elements: incongruity and surprise. The double deals in this book contain these two elements. Other words that describe double dealing statements are ironic, paradoxical, coincidental, serendipitous, cynical, satirical, burlesque, teasing, absurdity, and farce. My preferred term is double entendre. It’s a phrase or word open to two interpretations which triggers incongruity and surprise. The contents are divided into three parts: I Statements of Double Dealing II Re-Verses—Tongue in Cheek Poems III Verse—Poem

A love letter to the game of baseball from one of America's foremost scribes Bob Ryan has scored every baseball game he's attended, at every level, since the start of the 1977 season. It's a deeply personal tradition still going strong at more than 1,400 games and counting. The tattered scorebooks he's filled are worn from age, travel, and countless summer days, but their grids and scrawled symbols tell the stories of milestones, rivalries, rare historic achievements, and more. In Scoring Position captures the incomparable spirit of baseball, with its infinite possibilities and madcap anomalies. Ryan, alongside baseball historian and statistician Bill Chuck, has scoured his scorecard archives for the most singular events—a switch-hitter being hit by a pitch from both sides of the plate in the same game; a player batting for the cycle off four different pitchers; even back-to-back pinch-hit home runs with two outs in the 9th. Featuring some of the game's biggest names and wildest scenarios, this is a fascinating romp through baseball history, exuding a pure zeal for this sport that fans of all teams will recognize in themselves. Part of the collection at the library of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, this volume also features reproductions of dozens of scorecards from Ryan's collection.
Author and poet Chuck Florence has adopted a surprisingly simple approach to verse through Simplicity, that is both subtle and in your face. Within its pages you will find there is something for everyone. Florence's poetry, however simple, remains symbolic of life anywhere, or at anytime - offering refreshing views into spirit and nature. Sometimes erotic, sometimes indulging, his writings touch mostly upon that which is real, while still courting a bit of fantasy and humor. Through poetry, spirit has given itself to those precious moments in the author's life where nothing was spoken, only felt. In capturing these moments, it is his desire to preserve them in their simplest form, with as little distraction as possible. Florence's poetic pieces compel in their stark Simplicity as they manage to convey more with less words. Simple yet stirring, this compilation will lure readers into their own private reflections. Thank you for your purchase.
