Grimm's Fairy Tales - Brothers Grimm - Once upon a time, two brothers wished to preserve their German folklore in a collection of tales that they believed had been handed down for generations. When they began in 1812 they had just 86 stories that rather harshly reflected the difficult life of the European peasantry. Subsequent editions would grow to hold over 200 tales. As time passed, the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, with all of its royalty, magical creatures, and brave adventures, were destined to become one of the most famous examples of European folklore ever written. This compilation includes sixty-four of their most famous tales including "The Frog Prince", "Rapunzel", "Hansel and Gretel", "Little Red Riding Hood", "Tom Thumb", "Rumpelstiltskin", "Cinderella", and "Snow White". The stories of this compilation are drawn from the translations of Edgar Taylor, Marian Edwardes, Lucy Crane, and Margaret Hunt.

Grimm's Fairy Tales is a collection of German fairy tales first published in 1812 by the Grimm brothers, Jacob and Wilhelm. They were among the best-known storytellers of folk tales, and popularized stories such as The Frog Prince, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin, Little Red Riding Hood, and Snow White. The influence of these fairy tales was widespread. W. H. Auden praised the collection as one of the founding works of Western culture. The popularity of the Grimms' collected folk tales has endured well. The tales are available in more than 100 languages and have been later adapted by Walt Disney, with films such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Tangled. This edition is limited to 1,000 copies.
This collection of Grimms' Fairy Tales features the original stories by which many popular books, movies, and plays were inspired. With stories such as Snow White, The Frog Prince, Hansel and Gretel, and many more, Grimms' Fairy Tales were among the first collections of stories and have since become some of the most influential of our time. You won’t find gentle happily-ever-after’s--each tale is delightfully twisted and sprinkled with some sort of wickedness on every page. In this edition you’ll come to explore the world of grouchy old women and devilishly tricky creatures as you make your way through the ever enthralling stories that make up the Grimms' Fairy Tales.
